Play for 4Quarters? Not sure what game you were watching, but #10 brought the ball up the court the entire time he was in the game, and never threw the ball away. Without him bringing the ball up the court, we might lose that game on TOs and fast break points. Yes, he missed some shots that normally fall for him, but that happens. #21 is probably their best player, and i think he felt he had to do more than usual, and he tried to put everything on his shoulders. Yes, he did miss a lot of 3's, but apparently you haven't seen him or #10 play much. They both normally make a majority of their shots (wherever they are on the floor). Judging these guys by one game is not a fair assessment of their talents.
Agreed. 10 took care of the ball and pushed the floor that led to fast break points. He'll still have to get better against quicker and faster teams for Nederland to be successful.
The St. Pius kids are good. But St. Pius is a football school for those who don't know. They are trying to build their basketball program. Again, the suburban kid is a catch word in reference to a mind set.  I use towards my kids as well. Those who want it (hood) and those who would rather play X-Box (suburban). Get it? :-\ Oh nevamind
They may be a Football school, i have no idea. Don't keep up with that. I do know that they had two players who graduated last year who went on to play college BBall, and this year's team has a D1 commit to San Diego, another who has the physical tools to dominate (#50), and another who is highly ranked in the Greater Houston area (#4). Isn't that what you look for Dove, Individual talent? Also have some promising Freshmen on JV (including Sheryl Swoops son). Nederland's JV just a much better 'team'. I like what AAW said on another thread about one magazine ranking 'teams' vs the other who emphasizes players and individualism. I know which one i'm going to listen to regardless if 'Da Magazine' said that Nederland will sweep through district again. I don't think that's going to happen, but I would certainly welcome it (again). That's why we play the games.
#50 did nothing, but looked great coming off the bus. #4 did a little more than nothing. English and Weisbrod are pretty good, but not great...yet. St. Pius's 2 were shut down by Nederland's defense which left English and Weisbrod matched up against those 2 in the 1-2-2 defense they played.

I understand your concern about the Anahuac coach not pulling off the press with that large of a lead. However, its so early in the season, I'm sure the Anahuac coach is only trying to prepare his team for a tough district. Also I know that 2 of his starters are freshmen and 1 a sophomore so I'm sure he wants them to get as much court time as possible again to be ready for a tough district. According to the other scores you posted it didn't seem as though other teams were worried about the point margin of the game. Its only the second week of the season.
I understand what you're saying too...but being up by that much might be a good opportunity to work on things to do when you CANT press.  because Anahuac wont be able to press the better teams in their district..not even for a half.  My point was that Anahuac added 20 points to their lead with half of the 4th quarter to go....and they didn't have to.  When there is that much time left and the game is over...get some kids some court time that normally wont get it.  Or work on things you are weak at or need to...that's all
What if the coach thought that the team was weak at pressing?
 4. HF/Vidor thread got hijacked by St. Pius/Ned talk. Copied and pasted from that thread. St. Pius was not very good. The point guard did a lot of juking, but never went anywhere. They had some big guys, but none of them could score. Nederland played a 1-2-2, but really squezed the middle since St. Pius put someone running from elbow to elbow. This left their wings open for 3's after one pass. Rarely did they attempt a 3, and didn't make the ones they attempted. St. Pius pressed Nederland, but Nederland was too quick and broke it every time. Ball went to the middle, and they ran the floor. Weisbrod's FG percentage MUST go up.

LOL Anyone who has seen them play knows that Bluedoves statements are accurate. Not trying to say your son isn't a good ball player, but that team wouldn't be close to the same without King. Sorry, not trying to offend, but it is what it is.
Wouldn't be the same? Agreed. Would that team still win without him? Without a doubt.
 7.
Lets be honest, Kendrick is the glue to that 8th grade team at HF. He make makes that team go.
Kenrick is a special player, but without Kendrick that group would still win their games convincingly.
 8. an 80 minute game, 3 pass attempts
