  1. Deoundrei Davis was a four-star member of the Texas Longhorns' 2013 recruiting class and rated as the No. 4 outside linebacker in the country.  Reports out of Austin, Texas, on Friday said coach Charlie Strong had kicked Davis off the team. Since taking over for Mack Brown about eight months ago, Strong has dismissed eight players.
  2. I like Mich St +12 and USC.  Stanford is at home, which is the only reason they are favored.
  3. It will take a couple of years for Strong to change the culture and get the talent back to compete against the best teams.  At this point, people will get excited just to defeat an unranked team at home.
  4. Pretty boring week if you ask me.  I think BYU/Texas will be the most interesting.
  5. The Texas defense will not want a repeat of last year, so I expect their best effort here.  With Ash out, the Texas defense may have to win the game.  With the majority of the BYU offense back from last year, BYU is probably the better team right now.  The coaches may be different, but the players remain the same.  Certainly, Texas can win but my money is on BYU.
  6. Look out world, here comes Taysom Hill and much of the same personnel on both the BYU offense and the Texas defense as last year.  Doesn't bode well for the Horns.
  7. New QB's for both teams. Look for a defensive game.
  8. Ash never should have been on the field this year.  The success of Texas's season has been based upon Ash being healthy, which was a huge gamble.  Now to hand it over to an unproven QB at this point could spell trouble for the Horns.  On the optimistic side, BYU will now have to prepare for Swoops, so their defensive game plan will have to change.  That 3.5 point spread is about to go the other way.
  9. The offense thought that the Anchor Down slogan on the jersey was the offensive game plan.  They executed it to perfection.
  10. Certainly, Vanderbilt was one of the biggest disasters in college football in Week One.  They were an 8.5 pt favorite and lost by 30.  But the rest of the SEC did not look overated.  A&M and Georgia were the most impressive.  But Ole Miss, Miss St, Kentucky, and Tennessee all easily covered their spreads as well.  If you want to talk about the Big 12, let's start with Tech and Iowa St. and their fine performances.
  11. 1st of all, you can swap UTSA and TCU on the above list to be a little more accurate.  A&M and Baylor are now both listed at 20/1 to win it all.  So, it looks like a tie right now for the top program in Texas.   You know it's going to be a crazy year when the top 2 teams in the country struggle against non ranked teams  in the opener.  Put on your seat belts.  Anything can happen.
  12. It won't matter if BYU runs for 550 again. Obviously, this week's game is a big one for Texas.
  13. It didn't take long for the college football season it give us our first big shock, but that's exactly what Texas A&M and Kenny Hill did with their 52-28 rout of South Carolina and it had a big impact on a few futures wagers. South Carolina's odds to win the National Championship plummeted from 23/1 to 50/1 after the loss, according to Sportsbook.ag, while Texas A&M's title odds shot through the roof going from 100/1 before the game to 30/1 after.
  14. August isn't fall.  I say DVR the game and watch it after you take her out for the evening.  Just don't go somewhere with a TV or accidently check your phone
  15. I doubt he plays for OU. Probably try NFL next year.
  16. This red field is worse than the Smurf Turf in Boise.
  17. Just to explain, I have Michigan at #4 mainly due to the schedule.  Michigan doesn't have to play Wisconsin, Nebraska, or Iowa.  Instead, they get Maryland and Rutgers.  So, they only have 2 conference games that are for sure losses.  They have a chance to win the rest of them.  Nebraska has 4 very tough road games and they will likely be underdogs in each of them.  I think NW is underrated so I give them the #5 ahead of Nebraska as far as final conference standings.  I agree that Iowa will be in the bottom half.
  18. 1. Mich St. 2. Ohio St. 3. Wisconsin 4. Michigan 5. Northwestern

    Texas

I guess I missed seeing Texas in the rankings. We're they there? I did happen to see 8 SEC teams though. But whatever. If you finish with a better record then good for you. Success
  20. Seriously?  Let's look back to Tech's final 5 conference games last year.  OU, KSU, OSU, Texas, and Baylor.  Yes, they lost ALL of them.  More of the same this year as Tech's swiss cheese defense is even worse.  Look for Tech to finish 6-6 and 7th place in the Big 12.
  21. UCLA is definitely loaded, and they also play Oregon and Stanford at home.  I'll take UCLA, Oregon, and Stanford in the Top 3.  USC will be much better than expected and will be 4th.  Arizona St. slips to the middle of the pack.
  22. Certainly Baylor and OU are the favorites.  Baylor handled OU last year, but this year they must travel to Norman on Nov 8.  That game likely decides the Big 12.  Texas and TCU will play on Turkey Day to decide 3rd place.  TT will be in the middle of the pack.
  23. Of these games listed, I'll go with Arkansas.
  24. Every single SEC school will make more money off the SEC Network than Texas makes off the Longhorn Network.  I'll take the wager.  The arrogance of t.u. to kill the Big 12 is the best thing to happen for A&M.  Oh, gotta go.  Little league baseball is now on the Longhorn network.
  25. And that was the score after 3 Qtrs. Thank goodness OU started falling down at the 1 yard line to not run up the score any more.
