1.
Brenham over Foster El Campo over Waller Angleton over Montgomery Galena Park over Magnolia Magnolia West over Tomball Memorial Elgin over Rudder Huntsville over Humble Caney Creek over New Caney Navasota over Willis
I agree, except for New Caney.
2. Anybody have an opinion on how Kountze will do against 3A Shepherd next week?  Seems like it should be a close game.
3. Would they have done that for a new computer lab too?  A blue turf is a completely unnecessary expense, and the people that put up their house as collateral should lose it.  But now they hope that the intelligent taxpayers that rejected the bond will now come forth and bail them out for their poor judgement?  It's for the kids!  Once again, it appears that FOOTBALL is far more important than EDUCATION.

Oh Huntsville....  I'm sure you're glad to see us back in your district.  ;D
I bet they are wanting New Caney and Porter back !!!!!
Haha.  Ya, they got rid of them for Brenham & Montgomery.  Pretty even swap.
Ya, I was surprised how easily Coldspring won the scrimmage.  I had heard that Huntsville was missing some players, but they certainly didn't show much at all.  Huntsville has been in the playoffs the last 4 years, but have definitely benefited from a weak district over the last 2 years.  When you have New Caney, Porter, and Caney Creek in your district, you only have to win 1 or 2 more to get to the playoffs.  Last year, they beat Summer Creek and Humble to get in.  It's a much tougher 18-4A  this year.  They should still contend for a spot.
5. I think it's a little crazy for a school district to spend that kind of money on a football stadium for one school.  But, it wouldn't surprise me if they fill the entire 18,000 seats on game days.  Their band has nearly 700 members and actually requires 1,000 seats with the equipment.  The halftime sight alone is worth catching a game.  I would think that Allen will be a powerhouse for years to come, unless they eventually split the school into two.
6. Yea, I would flip 1-2.  No reason to put Brenham at 2 unless you want to motivate them.  3,4,5 could finish in any order, but I would probably flip Mag West and Willis.  I think Mag West gets in the playoffs.  Caney Creek should have 9 wrapped up.  6-8 looks about right but whoopie-doo it matters.
7. Wow.  Summer Creek will probably be 5A before you know it.
8.
Seeing us, Montgomery, up there still makes me shake my head....
Surprising to see Montgomery ranked ahead of Brenham at this point.
9. There are 254 counties in Texas.  So, one per county.
10.
Lets see how Lake Travis can do at the 5A level now..  ;)
About 10 years ago, I remember hearing "Let's see how Southlake Carroll can do at the 5A level."  Well, they started 79-1 with 4 state championships.  The one loss was by 1 point to Katy in the State Final.  I have a feeling Lake Travis will be just fine.
11. That's what I heard too.  I believe that he was already a teacher at LCM.
12.
23 or 24 and already a head coach. That can be tough when dealing with everything. Good luck to Ms. Sanders.
There are many 23 or 24 year olds that are head coaches in girls high school basketball.  Age shouldn't be held against her.  The district must have felt that she is ready for the position.
13. And on to the world of boxing, we now we have Senators John McCain and Harry Reid wanting government to get involved to prevent another controversial Bradley/Pacquiao result from happening in the future.  Let's just let government run everything.
14. Nice job on your analysis there Brenham Fan.  Willis lost a lot of seniors, as last year was suppossed to be "the year" they were waiting for.  Like Mag West, they are another reload or rebuild uncertainty.  I think you have the district predicted about right.  I still think that Montgomery will defeat Brenham "one of these days".
15. Serves Congress right for being so concerned about MLB anyway?  A big waste of money, and for what???  Diversionary tactics to avoid accountability.  How about we put all members of Congress on trial for lying.  That's pretty much all they do since they are totally incompetent to do what they are elected to do.
16. It's a complete waste of money in a time when nobody has any.  But, I'm sure that every school will now try and outdo each other, despite the cost.
17. I don't root for any of them.  Just a football fan.
18.
Its a good strong district. Dayton, Crosby, Summer Creek, Kingwood Park, Barbers Hill, and Humble are all very good programs.  If i was a betting man, i say the 4 top teams as it stands now (Dayton, Summer Creek, Kingwood Park, and Crosby) . Humble hired according to sources within the HISD athletic department Offensive coordinator Charles West of Dekaney High School to be head coach of the wildcats.  He'll have his work cut out for him, as we will be the youngest we have been since i have been following Wildcat football.  We will have talent, but we will be very very young.
I would agree that the 6 teams listed will be the teams battling for the 4 spots.  I don't think this district is very strong, outside of Dayton.  I'll take Dayton, Barbers Hill, Crosby, and Summer Creek as the 4 playoff teams.  Kingwood Park will be right there also.
19. Anybody know of a website that has statewide standings?  I can't find anything.
20. Ozen girls weren't very classy against Huntsville either, pointing at the fans, etc.  I'm glad they got the major beatdown.  I'm rooting for Barbers Hill to go all the way now.
21. It ain't over till the fat lady sings.  It's a phrase.  And the fat lady was warming up with 3:00 minutes left.
22. No, I meant the fat lady singer, not the player.
