  1. I hope Donahoe is healthy, and will play again. He is a very strong, pure PG, with the greatest will to win.
  2. When they hit that 3 at the halftime buzzer, I thought, hmmm... Nothing our 3rd Q effort couldn't overcome. We went from down 9 to up 9 in about three minutes. Rattled those Rattlers. It was great to see the joy on the Hawks' faces, especially on Jarvis's face-- Jarvis's three-ball is back, and he knows it.
  3. Coop should know better than to pick against the Hawks in the playoffs!
  4. Trey has really stepped it up. Looks like he's finally healthy and playing like Trey. Talk about good timing! Gus had a great game last night. All of our starters did well, as did our turrible bench.
  5. I expect a hard-fought contest and another HJ win.
  6. It is, in fact, hard to imagine 21-3A losing to anything outside 21-3A. Congratulations to the Mustangs on a good season, and good luck to Coldspring.
  7. Was Trey's head above the rim? I know one thing for sure: those consecutive dunks ended the game, right there. After that, it was all Showtime.
  8. Yeah, that's been a good gym for us against Navasota.
  9. Should we be lucky enough to win tonight, anyone know when and where we go to meet and beat Navasota?
  10. That bench was good enough to beat Silsbee, at Silsbee. That's good enough for me.
  11. And, just maybe, all the way to Austin.
  12. "u guys have had a good season but the talent level at hj isn't what it used to be.. the bench is terrible.. " Yep, our bench is turrible, just turrible-- but good enough to get us to 33-6.
  13. This sort of bitter, selfish, parental grumbling highlights what a great job the coaches do of keeping this team together, and winning. I think the players also do a great job of supporting each other, across all sorts of cultural divides. It's definitely these kids who give me hope for the future of this country.
  14. HJ fans are as relentless as HJ players. They will wear you down until you turn it over.
  15. I would like to see the great Doug McCarter's playground!
  16. How about Woodlands College Park, Baytown Lee, or some nice Houston gym?
  17. Can we get some more of those games where Jarvis knocks down eight+ threes?
  18. Oh... my... God...
  19. AAW is the enemy-- but only in 21-3A basketball. I admire his passion for his Silsbee Tigers. He sets a good example for us all.
  20. Silsbee at HJ, with Trey playing with a painful foot problem and Jacoby riding the pine with fouls over half the game: Silsbee wins. HJ at Silsbee, for Silsbee's Senior Night, even though our junior post plays (plays great, too) with fouls, and fouls out: HJ wins. I really hope to see a seeding game. The outcome is not as important to the path to Austin as some seem to think-- as last year proved. I just love to scream for those High Flying Hawks!
  21. And now for the medical moment: Props to Gus for playing so well with that cold. I didn't see Dylan Klages suited up-- heard he was home with the flu. Looks like Trey's foot is better! I hope the Silsbee knees and ankles mend quickly, and that all players on both squads are able to give it their all throughout the playoffs.
  22. I think Trey, Rico, Jarvis, and Gus all played better this game, compared to their performances in our loss to Silsbee. The main difference tonight: JACOBY TURNER!!!!!
  23. In our loss to Silsbee, Jacoby sat with early foul trouble. Tonight Jacoby flew pretty darn high. Did he put on a show?
