1. Poor, poor Navasota...  It's business, not personal.
2. Sealy's big dude is pretty good, but Prudhomme was, as usual, the man of the match.  I like our chances.  One good omen: Jace Deshotel, the original and greatest Hawk Heckler, was in the house tonight, and led a "Who we rootin'for?" cheer.  Last time I heard that, Rick Perry was hanging gold medals around our kids' necks.
3. Donahoe.  Toughest, most courageous kid I've ever seen.
4. Sammy was clutch at the line there.  16/18 FTs in the 2nd half-- big difference.  Way to go Hawks!
5. As Alan Iverson said: "Practice?"
6.
There is no excuse not to be prepared to shoot free throws in crucial situations. The players should take it upon themselves to shoot 100 free throws at the end of every practice. You do it when everyday and it becomes repetition. You shoot 50% from the line in close games and you'll get beat more often than not.
Agree 100%.  I'm sure the Hawks are exhausted by the end of practice-- but that's the best time to practice free throws, and a clear demonstration of will and leadership if the kids take it upon themselves to shoot 100 FTs when they're ready to drop.  That Silsbee debacle should be a lesson learned on the road to state.
7. Thank you!  I'm trying to get the Naval Observatory to change the atomic clock readout ("at the tone...") from UTC to Havoc Countdown mode, too.  Hecklers, get there early!
8. Sounds like we are back.  Nice road win, Hawks!
9. Prediction: HJ by 24.
10.
Then they would have lost by two instead of three!
Maybe so.  Or maybe they would've stalled out the clock.  Anyway, Silsbee won.  I was wrong, I'm shocked by the loss, and I'm sure the HJ players will do all they can to give Silsbee a better run in-- hey, my man Nash, how many hours?
11. If the Hawks had made just one of the twenty free throws they missed...
12. Well, I am shocked.  Couldn't believe our ears the entire third Q.  11/31 FT, my goodness...  Nice effort to come back from 18 down in the fourth.  Happy for the Silsbee kid who hit the winner at the buzzer-- that's a great memory for the rest of his life!  Congratulations, Tigers.  See y'all in Sour Lake...
13. Thanks for the shout-out, Rob.  We can hear the Hecklers!
14. Ha!  Fair enough-- Silsbee's got a fighting chance.  Keep hope alive, baby!
15. I'm sure it will be a battle, but I'd be shocked if HJ doesn't win.  HJ has won in that gym with teams that looked more like the Chess club or UIL Math or Science team (and, in fact, made do with quite a few players who were better at academics than basketball, even some great kids who weren't gifted in anything).  Let's see how HJ does tonight with players who actually look like basketball players.  Silsbee, brace yourselves, and behold the power of Coach Sutherland's fully-operational Death Star!
16. Undefeated...  Has a nice ring to it.
17. Key: Patience.  It'll have to be some other Friday night, and not this year.
18. Happy New Year to all you ballers, baller-wannabes, and fellow fans.  Here's to a record-setting year for the high-flying Hardin-Jefferson Hawks-- in victories, academics, and dunk count.  Go Hawks!
