1. fwstangs, you have no class.  You sound like someone who is not real used to winning and just goes crazy when it finally happens. ::)
 2.
Go to Dave Campbell website and they have an article over District 16 in 3A. District 16 1) Carthage 2) Gilmer 3) Gladewater 4) Henderson- Largest school in this district 5) Longview Springhill 6) Pittsburg D1 Carthage State Champs 2009 D2 Gilmer  State Champs 2009 Pittsburg who made the playoffs last year and got to the fourth round, and Henderson who just drop from 4A. Wow!  What a beast of teams in this district. No wonder it is considered the toughest district in 3A. I believe whoever makes the playoffs in this district will win state D1 and D2. 8)
While possible, not very likely.  Carthage and Gilmer both lost some key components from last year.  I am sure they have tremendous athletes to fill their shoes, but it takes a lot of skill plus some luck for two teams from the same district to win it all.  Doubt it all falls into place but who knows.  ???
 3. If anyone has a conflict and cannot make tryouts tomorrow (8/14), contact us and we will set something up. Thanks [email protected]
 4. I think it is a toss up, whatever you decide.  I did this exact thing and quit football for baseball when I was a sophomore way back in the day.  I did it to try and avoid injury in football.  Made varsity as a sophomore and I'll be damn, tore ligaments in my knee the weekend before district started in a collision at home plate.  Definitely wish I would have stayed in football after the fact.  You never know what is going to happen so best of luck to all the area high school athletes with whatever they decide.  Hopefully it will be an injury free season for everyone!!
Shouldn't all second year 10U's be competing in the "A" division? How is PCB? Is it crowded? Hoping it will be pretty quiet next week when we get there with all of the non-softballers staying away due to the media beach scare! ;D We will be there Saturday. If we get there early enough we will come out and support you gals.
In a perfect world.......yes. The beaches are crowded but not overly crowded.  Check in when we got here Saturday was CRAZY!  Traffic has been bad.  But the beaches have been fine.  Some seaweed but that hasn't stopped anyone. Good luck to you all and all the local teams!  If you make it early enough on Saturday, we would love the support.
Thankfully the place we are staying did all the paperwork through fax and will call and give me codes to the rooms after they are ready for ck in.  Straight to the rooms, no ck in!!!!! Should be a little less crowded too.  This week there are 293 teams for the B.  Next week for the A there are only 175 total teams.
 8. Any news on how the bracket is going?
 9. The B World Series brackets are posted on usfastpitch.com

 12.

New Orange Crush 12u team forming.  Tryouts will be held on July 17th and 18th from 2-4pm at the Orange Crush fields.  Looking for talented players with a birthday in '99.  Contact Jerry Metts at 409-499-3169
BEFORE nationals :-\
I think to sum this all up, when you get ready to have your tryouts for the fall, just ck with Tigers9 first to be sure it is the proper time to do so.
 13. The Houston area teams do dominate most of the teams around here, but I think it is mainly because most of the teams around here do not play the Houston competition on a regular basis.  There are sooo many teams in Houston that their talent gets spread around a bit too.  They are all so good because the competition over there that they all play against week in and week out.  It gets expensive but you have to play against them to learn to play with them.  You can gather the best girls from this area and win every local tournament, but until you play in Houston regularly it will be hard to compete with them.  Just my 2 cents.
 14. Orange Crush 97 (12U) took 1st place in the Last Chance Qualifier NIT in Moss Bluff this weekend.  The girls battled back, winning 4 games in a row Sunday out of the losers bracket to capture the title.  We finished with a 7-1 record for the weekend, outscoring opponents 77-10 in the 8 games including the 9-4 victory in the championship over Louisiana Extreme. Next stop Panama City Beach, for the USFA A World Series July 17th-24th.  Good Luck Girls!!!!
 15. One of my girls lost her sunglasses at the USFA State Tournament at Ford Park.  She thinks she may have left them in a dugout after a game.  They are green and orange with Crush and her name on them.  They were custom made and pretty expensive.  We were plaing on fields 1-4 in the the 12U bracket.  If anyone happened to pick them up please give me a call. Michael Shugart (409)779-1593
 16. We have had a good response for the ragball tournament.  We already have 8-10 teams.  Anyone else interested hurry and register.  Thanks from Orange Crush 97!!

 22. Our Crush 12's finished 1st in the Last Chance Qualifier NIT in Conroe this weekend.  The heat was absolutely brutal but the girls responded very well and went 6-0 in bracket play to win the 18 team tournament.  We beat TX Heat 97 3-2 in the winner bracket final and beat them again 5-2 in the "ship".  Outstanding weekend for the girls in all phases of the game outscoring opponents 36-8 in bracket play.  Congrats ladies and keep up the hard work!!
