  1. Don't know about the 2017 season yet!
  2. ...and if so, that is truly pathetic on that parent's part...this man is having to endure having his character and integrity called into question...I will admit that I do not know the circumstances whatsoever, but I will give the Coach the benefit of the doubt until the investigation is complete...if it comes to pass as is speculated here, then again, shame on those bringing the accusations!
  3. ...to add, a coach in a WINNING system for 20 years...outside hires seem to make more sense when the outgoing coach is relieved of his duties for lack of success...clearly not the case here
  4. Read further...I said that he did not do that alone...he would tell you the same
  5. Brubaker presents a very logical argument to stay in house and keep Barrow...I wont re-state it but suffice it to say that I agree with his points about Monte...all we get from Reagan is the "home cooking is no good" argument with no actual facts to bear that out...you can hit or miss with a home grown guy or an out of town guy...it depends on THAT guy and his staff...for me, Barrow and this group of coaches have more than proven themselves to know the formula for success...if the answer is already here, why do you need to go looking all over the place? I believe that it is better for the KIDS to keep as close to the current situation as possible in place...isn't that ultimately what this is about? One last point, during many a season, you hear other coaches and opponents of Nederland talk about how well coached and well prepared Nederland always is...who do you think does that? Neumann played a key role in that, yes, but he certainly could not do that alone...breaking this staff up would make many Nederland opponents very happy people, I assure you, and take away one of the biggest advantages that Nederland has experienced over the years...you can't tell me that Nederland was the most talented team in this district for 5 consecutive years during the DC run. My opinion, don't overthink this...the answer is already here
  6. I have not been very active on here recently, but as a Bulldog supporter, I do have quite a bit of interest in this...Coach Neumann was absolutely phenomenal for Nederland football and athletics, in general...more importantly, he was successful at building solid young men who learned how to put "team" first and be responsible individuals...job well done, Coach, you will be sorely missed...you often hear the phrase "leave it better than you found it"; Coach Neumann can check that box off in a big way!! For the reasons mentioned above, I throw my support in the corner of Monte Barrow...he has been with Neumann for the entirety of this run and has been an invaluable contributor to this legacy...he understands the game extremely well and more importantly, he cares about the kids and knows what it takes to develop them, both as players and equally important, as people. He's paid his dues and I am convinced is more than ready for this opportunity...plus, Nederland has one hell of a staff overall, and promoting Monte is the best way to ensure that this stays in tact as well...lot's of good coaches on that sideline and I for one, want them all to stay!
  7. This is a ridiculous argument, but since you wanna make it; Nederland 3rd round 2011; 4th round 2012 (while you sat home and prepared for basketball that you couldn't beat us in either) Honestly, I guess Nederland should just as well not even show up...after listening to this, I think it should be PNG -82...oh well, let's go ahead and play the game anyway and see what happens
  8. Has to be...sure wasn't for the DC's
  9. I strongly suspect that it will be Mayfield and that will be just fine! He and others will give the Dogs potential for an explosive offense with several playmakers to go along with what should be a very solid O-line as well
  10. I never said that they didn't...I'm just not on here proclaiming them to be the undisputed kings of 22-5A next year...I admitted that my pick was a homer pick although the fact that they have won or at least shared the title 5 years straight makes the argument a bit easier to make...that being said, Nederland will have to earn a 6th if they want it, just like everyone else, including the might PAM
  11. Sometimes the truth hurts, Soulja!
  12. sounds like an excuse...losses are losses, irregardless of the reason...you might "lose some on the sideline" going forward as well...point is, if PAM has "sideline issues" , it's hard to crown them as champs
  13. Congrats to Ozen and best of luck this weekend
  14. I assume that you are talking about George Ranch and that is fine...Nederland did play them and did take a thumping, just like PAM did...I was thinking more along the lines of the loss to Ozen, you know, the team that is in the district and did not make the playoffs...you can't lose to a non-playoff team from the district the year before and then enter the district proclaiming to be sure fired dominators. I'll understand if you have erased that game from your memory
  15. Geez, let's try this...congrats to the kid on a fine senior season and best of luck going forward...glad to see he had a successful senior campaign
  16. Here's my take on Memorial dropping to 5A...they will certainly be a consistent contender in the district and having them adds another talented team and likely creates some new rivalries, which I think is great...the distrct is certainly deeper and tougher with them in it. Now crowning them as sure thing champs is foolish IMO....heck, they lost to 5A schools just last season, so pretending that they cannot be beaten in this district is crazy. I'll be the homer and pick the Dogs again, but I do have 5 years of history riding on my side (outright or at least share of DC)...until someone proves different....
  17. you are ignoring the fact that the guy is one hell of a coach, both baseball and football...great choice for Nederland!
  18. I am a HUGE Cowboy fan, but not a fan of this signing to begin with...ever heard of the saying "if you play with babies, you get baby poop on your hands"...this is that example
  19. I have never seen a team conduct a "flopapalooza" quite like Dallas...it really is ridiculous and tis seems to be a epidemic across the NBA...something has to be done about the "floppers"...the Rockets are not totally innocent either, but Dallas takes it to a new level
  20. wish him all the best and glad to hear that he is hitting the local schools...it's time to get Lamar back to playing the kind of basketball that we were used to in the 80's...good times!
  21. 14 has me scared...Crosby 77, Nederland 0
  22. Nederland did look very good last night, however, I stand by previous opinion that this is a scrimmage...if you put alot of weight on these games, Nederland would not have made the playoffs last year...I will be as excited about last nights performance as I was down about last year scrimmage performance. The best news coming out of the scrimmages for Nederland IMO is that they come out relatively healthy and any questions that anyone had about the QB position should be greatly diminished...Preston has looked really sharp and poised under center in the 2 scrimmages. Nederland is going to be fine this year, and I look for them to make a serious run at a 3rd straight DC
  23. Oh, selective memory from vidor on the Nederland game last year...it was a great game, but don't act like it was as close as the previous post...Nederland was up 20-6 with 1:06 left when vidor scored to make it 20-13...vidor recovered the onside kick to make things interesting and the pass was not picked off in the end zone...vidor lost, again, despite being certain that they would finally beat Nederland
