Things can happen Here is my only hitch with Vidor and this is true you went what two rounds deep last year. If you were more than a one dimensonal team you might have a chance to do very well but i agree with Brenhem fan there are teams in your district that can shut you down. You line 8 in the box and man cover the recievers you can shut down a mis directional offense Please excuse all my misspelled words I am not very good at it  Lets get the gear on and then start talking.
Lol people like you make me laugh. Shut down our "one dimensional" offense? Really? Not one team we played last year shut us down. Heck noone held us to less than 15 points in the whole season. We averaged 360 yards a game and 29.5 points a game. Wow.  ::) And we went 3 rounds deep in the playoffs. Next time you might wanna read what you write before you post it.
twocents, if my memory serves me correctly, Nederland held your vaunted Pirate offense to under 200 yards last season...not certain but i can sure find out for sure tonight...irregardless, that O was held pretty much in check all night by Nederland. Look buddy, Vidor had a great season last year and should be proud of that success, but don't come on this board acting like they are a lock for a 9-1 or 10-0 season because they are not
Yep, Vidor had only 178 yards against Nederland last season, so to say that "no one" stopped their offense would be inaccurate

 3.
I like these personal polls.  The last time PNG wasnt in your top 5 polls, we all know what happened......10-0.
...and I'll take the under on 10 PNG wins
 4. nice job finding that out bigdog...all the more reason to trade him for a bag of peanuts...someone with obviously too much time on their hands
 5. BUSTED...NedBD = purplepassion
 6. if he is in fact a Nederland fan (which I doubt), then maybe we can package he and mytwocents from vidor together and ship them to somewhere like the Hill or something...Nederland has the POTENTIAL to be very solid this year...booking hotels in Dallas is premature, not only for Nederland, but for anyone at this point...I agree with Huskers statement that Neumann teaches his kids humility and respect for all opponents...I choose to do the same as do most Dog fans. So NedBD and mytwocents traded to BH for cash and gas cards or something...I vote yes  ;)
 7. sounds like dawgbacker needs to change their screen name to pirate apologist...no need to get your drawers all bunched up...this is all in good fun and no one is unneccesarily degrading vidor...no one seems to recall the inordinate amount of smack that vidor talked towards Nederland last year (and I am sure this year will be more of the same). Look, vidor is going to be good this year and make a run at the DC, IMO...these polls mean very little if you ask me and do nothing but provide some good message board fodder for those of us who are ready for football but have nothing else to talk about yet since the games are not here yet...if you are laying awake at night worried or feeling slighted about why your team isn't "ranked" then I can't help you.
 8. I will definitely take the under on Vidor scoring 28
 9. I will go with Nederland in this one; this is a match-up between what very well could be the two best teams in the district right off the bat; Vidor will have emotion on their side being at home and with their undeniable hatred of Nederland (which I really don't understand by the way); I see this as a very close game with not a lot of offense as some of you predict; I expect these to be 2 VERY good defensive football teams;  I will say the Dogs win 17-10. I will also say that while I think these are the top 2 teams in the district "on paper", some others will surely have something to say about that;  this district is never a cake walk and I don't suspect it will be this year either; Ozen will be very good, I suspect Central will be improved, PNG will be in the mix, and who really knows about Livingston; they certainly have one heck of a playmaker back for another year and LCM will have a dangerous threat in Ceasar; injuries, as always, will factor into the outcome; to win, someone is going to have to be good and have the breaks go their way as well; at this point, I favor Nederland and Vidor because both will play good defense and that always keeps you in games; both teams have quite a bit of experience back from strong playoff runs last season as well

No doubt Green was Mr. everything. There must have been some coaching though, for it was the D that held All-mighty Brenham to only 10 ponits in the playoffs. I think the young guns learned a great deal last year. Personally, I thnk Ozen will be one of the teams that will keep your ndns out of the playoffs this year.
Brenham's offense wasn't exactly spectacular last year.  They weren't bad, but Brenham's strength is and has been the defense.  Don't get me wrong, Ozen played great defensively against us, but Brenham's offense hasn't been that powerful since Jarrett Lee & Brandon Collins, back in 2005 & 2006.  I picked Ozen to make the playoffs last year and I see them doing the same this year.  With Ozen's speed, I'd use more screens.  You have the speed, so use it.  JMO...
...and the 2012 version of the Panthers will not be lacking that (speed) at all.  As I've said before, look for Ozen to be the most athletic team in this district and possibly the region.
I know this is coming from a Bronco fan, but this team we have this year is gonna surprise alot of people with their athletic ability! 8)
Won't surprise me...Dayton has plenty of talent this year
 11. Where can the complete coaches poll be found?
 12. I think PNG is the odds on favorite to win the NFC East
 13.
Hudson doesn't have quite the arm of Fitz but not far off. He is 6-2 runs a sub 4 forty. He quarterbacked St. Pius jv team last year, and played some wr for their varsity. Hard working kid with a great football iq. Now will he put up the same numbers as fitz prolly not, but he will make his fair share of great plays, and do a great job of leading the offense. He threw 9 TD passes against Atascosita in a 7 on 7 game last week.
What's that 40 time???  You said sub 4?
 14. unfortunately, falcon, you are probably correct...that"s a pretty sad circumstance if you ask me...the better fighter lost this one
 15.
Me too!!! I showed my best friends son who'll be a senior this next year the past couple 20-4A topics and told him it looked like they'll be playing for the 3rd and 4th spot because Nederland and Vidor already have it locked down. He wanted me to print it out so he can show some of his other buddies on the team.
They shouldn't need that to motivate 'em
 16. I can assure you twocents that I know what a go route is...just didn't see one caught out of bounds that cost Vidor the game...do you know what "out of bounds" is?...bottom line, Nederland beat Vidor, it's over and now time to move on to next year...no amount of talking or whining will change last year's result. As for the spotted 10 points, how about this?  Nederland made poor plays that resulted in 10 easy points for Vidor...beyond that, Vidor did very little offensively against Nederland's D...either way, it's irrelevant now because that's last year and it's over...I am looking forward to this year's game...if Nederland should win that one, I look forward to a whole new set of "what ifs".
 17. I really thought I had seen bad before...I thought DelaHoya got screwed years go against Trinidad, but this was by far the worst...Bradley did NOTHING in this fight and got a mind numbing decision...I really cannot get my mind around this other than this had to be fixed...un-freakin-real
 18. I watched and unfortunately paid money for what I have to call the biggest screw job I have ever witnessed...Pacquiao clearly outclassed Bradley and I had a score of 118-111 and I thought that was being generous to Bradley...Pacquiao was faster, stronger, and more active...even the stats bear this out...I am officially done with boxing after this...the sport is obviously very corrupt and I really don't see how anyone in their right mind could score this for Bradley...terrible...I can promsie you, I have bought my last boxing PPV...that sport won't get another dime of my money if this is how it is run
 19. You know me basebow...I hated to mess up bobcats good story with facts, but, it is what it is
 20.

How did that work out for you last year?
Be careful now ! If I remember correctly Nederland had some very favorable conditions in last years contest . Vidors district rushing leader went out in the second play of the game . Montana Quirante ( MVP)was rushed back from Arizona from a relatives funeral and barely made it there by game time (very tired) ! Quirante went out in the second half of that game also. Nederland also had home field advantage . Now with all that being said Neederland still had to come back and eek out the victory on a GO route caught out of bounds . ( Just like their victory over WOS )
Geez, excuses, excuses...Go routes caught out of bounds???  what are you talking about?? and as for missing players, Nederland had a few as well including 2 all-district performers on defense...bottom line, Nederland started off with 2 uncharacteristic turnovers (part of the game) and spotted Vidor 10 points and still managed to win. So apparently, bobcat, you don't remember correctly.
 21.

And yet, you still can't seem to have much success against us.  ;)
Academically? Twelve consecutive district titles says it all. Athletically? I believe we have overall winning records against Nederland in every sport except boys' and girls' basketball, track and possibly boys' soccer (it'd be very close either way). I know we have winning records in football, volleyball and softball and our boys' golf team (which made it to state this year) has been unmatched for several seasons. Baseball is admittedly a question mark after the last few seasons but I believe the record does favor PN-G overall. In the performing arts? Our choir has nine consecutive "Outstanding" ratings at the state competition in San Antonio to its name and our band has been to the state marching competiton numerous times while Nederland's has yet to go once. And I know you're not talking about fan bases. ;)
Oh bama kid, you knew that I wasn't talking about what happened back in the day when Nederland's schools were actually still new...I was referring to recent history (but you know that already)...until PNG beat Nederland in baseball this year (admitedly, PNG was better), Nederland had beaten them two consectutive years in football, two years of sweeps in basketball and a previous year sweep in baseball to go along with back to back district track titles...until PNG won district in baseball this season, Nederland was reigning district champs in football, basketball, track, and baseball.
 22. And yet, you still can't seem to have much success against us.  ;)
 23. Sully, you couldn't have said it any better...I am an old dude now, but if you ask most of the guys I went to Jr. High with whay coach influenced them the most, Jack Lynch's name almost always comes up...I was fortunate enough to have him coach both me and my son and we both feel the same way...great coach, even better man who definitely always had the kids best interests at heart while still being an incredible, intense competitor, Happy retirement, Coach Lynch...you deserve it!!!
 24.
Love how a certain QB from this area made the top 50 but another QB with better stats and went further in the playoffs didn't even make the top 200. Politics much??  ::)
Has nothing to do with politics and Collins is not listed as a QB prospect, but as an athlete, which I think is justified
 25. So your saying the other kid hasn't played any games at QB?  I don have a dog in the fight but counting games a kid played at 9 as experience is a bit of a stretch to say the least
