1.
I don't think the game tonight has anything to do with Ozen facing Nederland next week.  Does anyone actually think they have a snowball's chance in heck of beating Nederland?  I think they'd have trouble against Nederland's cheerleaders, to be quite honest.
You might want to rethink that...I still contend it makes a huge difference...if Ozen woudl have lost last night, they would have been all but done and lacking serious motivation for this game...now they have a playoff spot on the line and renewed confidence in themselves
2. the irony here is that a Nederland win coupled with a png win clinches the outright DC for Nederland...personally, I would just rather win out to get that DC...Ozen is a scary game IMO...I will stick with the Dogs, 24-14.
3. How Ozen fairs tonight will have significant bearing on next weeks game, so I will withhold my pick until then...should Ozen be able to pull an upset tonight, next weeks game has meaning for them...if they lose, they are pretty much done and could be looking just to get the season over with
4. no disrespect taken at all, cheermom...I was just pointing out why you will rarely see Nederland hanging 50 on people...our style of play is just not conducive to that and I am perfectly OK with that as long as we keep hanging up "W's". Cheermom, you are definitely one of the classy PNG posters on here, so again, no offense was taken at all on your post!
5.
i think it will be an old fashioned but whooping..png 38 vidor 14...and im looking forward to being called classless from another fan base
PNG may win this game, but I woudln't count on an old fashioned butt whooping...Vidor is going to win the win the war in the trenches...the question is, can they get after the QB the way Nederland did to disrupt the passing game...PNG's question will be can they keep Vidor's offense off of the field...I can see both teams have trouble defensively in this one...should be real interesting
6. True...Lumberton did have a definite "shorten the game and let's get outta here" approach to the game, it seemed...I am sure they were palying to win, but they just kept trying to cram the ball down Nederland's throat even when they were down quite a bit and never were in a hurry to speed things up.
7. Getting to the big dance ain't wining it...good luck against Vidor next week...don't make the mistake of underestimating those guys...that will be one heck of a ballgame!
8. That's not Nederland's style of game, cheermoom...we play defense and field position with the offense taking advantage of those opportunities and controlling the clock...to me, as impressive as two consecutive shutouts is, two games in a row allowing less than 100 yards...that is really amazing when you think about it...Nederland has given up a total of 9 first downs in the last two games
9.
So, we should not use our time outs, not play our first string players, not bring our fans, not support our team or coach, not play Cherokee, and not schedule any 20-4A team for our Homecoming?? Would this even the playing field enough for some of you?? Some of you people are clearly bitter.  Seriously. Many of you would only be happy if PNG dismantled their sports programs.
Let's think about that? No, I want PNG to keep their sports programs...last year we beat them in football, basketball twice and baseball twice...this year, we have added another football win, so, no; please keep your programs...we ain't jealous! All in good fun guys, all in good fun...somebody has to keep those egos in check over there
10.

Wade might been wearing a PNG football shirt but Bum was sure showing off his State Championship ring he won at Nederland earlier in the day....
Yeah, wasn't that the last state championship y'all won? You know, in 1957? ;D
Which is about as relevant as the last one you guys won in the 70s...both have been a very long time ago...alot of folks on this board weren't even born when either team won their last state title
11. If he didn't want to hear it, he shoulda kept his yap shut...oh by the way, Nederland 24, png 21 and the year before that,Nederland 39, png 32...calling Nederland's defense trash is ridiculous when it basically held his team to half their usual yardage and points, minus a trash time TD that meant little...you make dumb statements and you should be prepared to be called on them. And as for the dead horse, if bia would quit reviving it, this would be dead...Nederland is through with png...they beat them are now have bigger fish to fry
12. bia, mr. popularity...lol!
13. I love it when you beat png and they just can't take it...lol...hey bia, you get to cry about it for at least another year...if, if ,if....if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt when he tried to fly...it makes my day listening to you whine about losing to the Dogs (see other thread about biggest whiners)
14. Hey look, I am a big Lamar fan, but if you don't want Texas State scoring anymore, then stop them...it is not like TSU had first teamers in there...when guys get a chance to play, they need to make the most of their opportunity...if you can score, score...it's the other teams job to stop you
15. Rueter is a good one...all three of Nederland's LBs have played pretty darned well themselves this year (Wood, Brown, Stampley)...Quirante from Vidor is impressive as well...BH had another LB who played well against Nederland, but I don't recall his name
16. underclassmen who left the program last year is back in practice this week getting a look...strong legged soccer player who could definitely fill the void
17. personally, I wouldn't wanna win this one!
18. Png, the best at everything....and folks wonder why they win polls like this...lol
19. Vidor/Livingston should be a good one...I will reserve my pick until the week of the game
20. Haven't seen him yet this season, but Trey Green scares me the most...Singleton from PA and really proud of how Raines has played and run Nederland's offense this season
21.
Vidor has turned into the Lumberton of 07. Remember that year, there was L-Train fans coming out of nowhere talking trash on the message board. One or two years going to the playoffs don't make you the beast of 20-4A, Nederland and PN-G, and sometimes Central own this district year in and year out. Say what you want to, but look at Lumberton now because Vidor will be the same in a year or two while Mid-County continues thier winning traditions!!!!!!! ;D ;)
Ditto...and where are those Lumberton posters now?
22. Dogs can officially qualify for the playoffs with a win coupled with and Ozen loss, so they should be able to remain focused...I believe this team knows what's at stake and can remain on target...Lumberton will play scrappy for a while before running ot of steam...Nederland 35, Lumberton 10
23. Dang, I hate hearing this type of news...prayers to his family, friends, and teammates as well as the entire community of Vidor
24. Two programs that have been great seem to be struggling this year (WOS and Dayton)...despite how good their replacements may be and despite the fact that they both came from within the system, there is still a transition and it is showing for both of these programs this year...just validates how difficult it is to replace a legendary coach...I don't think you can lose leaders like that and just assume business as usual...it's possible, just harder than people make it seem.
