1.
I went to the JV game last night and BH manhandled Ned, final score was something like BH 38 & Ned 14. Ned folks you better lock your dogs up tonight cause the eagles are coming to town!
Predicting the outcome of the varsity game based on what happened at the sub varsity level is pretty foolish, IMO...if you think BH beats Nederland by 3 plus touchdowns tonight, you are mistaken
2. Wow, I am feeling the love mr. blitz...I am sure both teams do have some injuries, as is common at this time of year...it's unfortunate, but it is part of the game...at least Nederland doesn't have as many as we did at this time last year but still some real key guys will be missing (Pryor, Brown, Hopkins, Fontenot)...hopefully, we get most everyone back in 2 weeks for the district opener and both teams can leave this game injury free as well...still going Dogs 24, BH 20.
3. BH is gonna be big and physical and try to control the game on the ground, much like they did last year...BH did pretty much control the game for 3 quarters last year until Big Ned almost pulled it out in the 4th...Nederland did go into that game with a rash of injuries and we had numerous starters not suited out...I really do look for another close, competetive game...Nederland will have to control BH's running game and BH will have to find a way to control Nederland's passing game...whichever team wins the turnover and field position battles will win this game, IMO
4. and yet Nederland won all the same...I would take the exact same result this Friday night (69 yards rushing and a win)
5. Good post, shly...it's a shame folks can't be happy that the TEAM won
6.
BH linebackers  bring the wood! Ned will not move the ball  as  easily as they did against GCM. I do not see how Raines will hold up under pressure and his arm slot limits his ability  to throw on the run. I look for BH to win by a  FG.
His "arm slot" worked just fine on the run for the game winner against WOS...that's a crock, but then again, you had GCM beating Nederland as well...as for last years game against BH, Nederland had numerous starter out for that game...I remember us commenting on how much talent was in shorts for that one, so last years game really doesn't give a good comparison...BH will be tough, IMO, but I will take the Dogs in this one, 24-20.
7. Pathetic...I agree, felony and punish to the full extent of the law...cold day in you know where before any involved would be allowed anywhere near my league...most of us have coached and had substantial disagreements with officials, but when you take it to that level, you lose the only thing that seperates humans from animals and that is the ability to CONTROL YOURSELF!!!  this really is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen...wow!
8. ...and if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt when her tried to fly...turnovers are part of the game so don't use it as an excuse, please.
9. IMO, the only way to effectively answer that is after the first week of the playoffs...the rest is irrelevant
10. Nederland JV won...not sure of the score, but I believe it was 20-16
11. WOS did the right thing and there was no harm done as the kid didn't play in any games once ineligible...I think it's time to put this one to bed and wish him well in his future at Utah...he is obviously a very talented player
12. ...and agreed, pngfan...Raines played really well Friday night and really showed his leadership by the way he played...I have been saying it all along, he is gonna be a really good one and he has done nothing to change that opinion for me this year...really proud of Carson
13. I believe they are split so the JV kids can get home at a respectable time on a school night...from what I understand, both the freshman and JV games will be played early, thus the split locations...same happens when Nederland plays Livingston.
14. Good call, BigFord...if you are really willing to give up your seats in season 2 of a return to football after 20 plus years of not having it, then you are not much of a fan...the coaches are with these guys every day, so I will trust their judgement on this and continue to support Lamar football
15. Nah, husker...he is just a sarcastic indian fan...lol
16. I believe that is correct, Stallworth...and I will go with the Dogs, 28-7
17. WOS will be fine...talented bunch with excellent team speed...heckuva effort by both teams last night
18.
Nederland gets the refs again ,  I would hate to win that way . ***** Neds QB can not throw *****
Wow...and then Ltown fans wonder why they don't get any respect or love?...making stupid comments like that doesn't help your case...were you actually at the game, cuz if you were, you couldn't have been watching too well?
19. Nice job freshman Dogs!
20. Dogs.  20 WOS.    13
21. ..then direct the comments to brubaker if you disagree with him, not at high school kids including a golfer who has absolutely nothing to do with this
22.

I would love to see the "big three" ,(wood, barrow, and shaw), go at it with the best 5 "just basketball players." be fun to watch
you have got to be kidding me this is one of the funniest things ive ever seen!Neither of them did crap as freshmen on the team! this has got to be one of the "big three" whatever that is! thats like saying cody meaux is good at golf!
...I am hoping you are just a kid on here running his mouth and if so, I will take your comment for what it's worth...if you are, however, a so called adult, I will simply use a line from the movie Hangover..."you are literally too stupid to insult."...anyone who comes on here trashing kids is frankly a moron, especially if they are on here under a screen name that implies that they are a Nederland supporter...somebody please kill this thread before it gets even more out of hand than it is already!
23. Agreed, not having Brock leaves a big hole as it did last night, but having him back for district is better than nothing...two sophmores getting baptized against Dayton is a tall order, but I do agree that they both played hard and will only get better...first and foremost, they have to adjust to the speed of the game, but they will...offensively, the Dogs moved the ball pretty effectively throughout the game...pretty encouraged to see that with all of the new faces on offense...Raines played really well last night as he did in the first scrimmage, which is great to see...he's gonna have a good year and the offense this year looks like it will be pretty well balanced with several contributors who can make plays...defensively, adjustments will have to be made with Pryor out, but this coaching staff has proven pretty adept at doing that, plus the kids on that side of the ball are experienced and plenty capable of making those adjustments...again, last night was a scrimmage and while I certainly would have preferred to be on the winning side of the score, I take this game for what it's worth...it did offer something to build on...looking forward to the season for these Dogs
24. Hopefully, both of those kids will be OK and back on the field soon
25. It's a scrimmage boys, so I won't get too excited either way...play books won't be opened all the way up for either team and I am sure that guys with bumps and bruises may be held out to prepare for the real deal, which starts next week...good measuring stick for both, but " bragging rights" and all that is carrying it a bit far...doesn't mean it won't be interesting, though...hope both teams come out healthy and ready for their respective openers.
