1. That looks like a list that I could go with there purpleeagle
2.
it's not hard to understand.  I'm making a point of the fact that buildings do not educate.  Using this as an example.  Always glad to educate.
I find it interesting that smitty wants to compare stadiums with PN-G and school buildings with Harvard. PN and Groves tax base is around 200% larger than Nederlands. Roughly 25 million to 11 million. Now Harvard lets see they renovate on a 10 year rotation. They have a endowment that would blow even Your large brain smitty. No schools don,t make better students but they do attract better teachers. Put yourself in a teachers position who is moving to this  area. PN-G, BISD, PAISD all have new schools and Nederlands looks as old as they are. Where would you really want to teach if the pay was the same? You know you can put new paint on a rotten old house and it looks good but it is still rotten under the paint. Nederland does need new schools badly, not paint jobs! If there is money left after the new schools then yes buid some new bathrooms and add some stands to the stadium. Oh yea before you ask the question smitty we do have some great teachers and some really great students but how much better could they be with new schools that are state of the art and way more energy efficent to boot? I will guess though you will divert to another point. Hey got one what if we let Delbert be in charge of the bond issue that way you will have something to really get fired up about! JACKA_ _!

Buildings do not educate kids but neither does an underfunded maintenance budget...at some point, you have to make a decision regarding the best use of money...we have already had maintenance bonds and suspect we will have to have many more...I do not consider that prudent use of money; continuing to repair items over and over...newer schools also protect the value of other property in the district...
3.
Port Arthur is full of brand new schools and yet no one is beating down the door to move to there.
They waited too long...everyone was already gone by the time they decided to act
4. Good point, PNG and like it or not, schools in that kind of shape cost serious money to maintain...the question becomes, how long do you keep throwing money into that hole before you find that to be a bad investment...some folks don't see the forest for the trees and what it leads to is a situation that will only continue to worsen...I will get off of my soap box for now...lol
5. Would totally NOT support anything that throws more money into old buildings...this has already been done once, to the tune of about $18 million...this would make another $25 million...more repairs will be needed in 5-6 more years so the price tag keeps increasing and we still have 60 year old buildings
6. I think that most would agree that the one who needs to go is you...can't say I missed your comments while you were on an apparent sabbatical
7.
Charlie Hough on the bump for vidor ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I believe he is out of eligibility  ;) ;D
8. lol...good one dawgnut!  I think most of us can agree to that...on a serious note, I find it very hard to believe this rumor...I suspect Larry still has some good years ahead of him
9. JV Nederland    9 Crosby        2 Nederland moves to 9-0 on the season.  Stampley, Ramoin, and Sampere pitched this one.
10. very impressive...nice weekend Dogs...now on to district and defending that title
11. JV Nederland    4 West Brook  2 Nederland stands at 8-0 for the season...Sanderson and Sampere pitched in this one
12. People, it's a scrimmage...really no big deal...if WOS prefers to play LCM, I can certainly understand that...implying that WOS is "afraid" of Dayton seems a bit ridiculous to me
13. Who ran the ball and how did they look?  This was a clear team weakness last season
14. Great season by the Dogs...they represented VERY well and simply ran into one heck of a basketball team last night...I watched Ball earlier in the season at the Nederland tournament and while they were good then, they were that much better last night...When your bigs can both score inside and then drop back and kill threes, you have run into something pretty tough...this is what Ball has in Petteway AND Evans...gotta tip my hat to Forney as well last night...he clearly was not 100% or even close, but he gutted it out the best he could and certainly went down swinging...great group of seniors who have given this community a lot to be proud of...like they say, "leave it better than you found it"...these guys definitely did that...Congrats Dogs and I look forward to seeing what next years group can do
15. Humble is up 40-35 with 5 1/2 minutes left...timeout Nederland...Forney was back in
16. End of 3...Humble 36-35..Smith has 4 fouls...sounds like the last one was a cheapy
17. Forney rolls ankle...trainer giving him a look...
18. Dogs take first lead since early, 27-25...timeout Humble
19. 25 all right now...about 6 minutes left in 3rd
20. 23-21 now...dogs make another run...game of runs right now...half
21. little run by the dogs...15-12 Humble now
22. With all due respect, any top 10 list is not complete without Kelvin Smith's name...the kid has had a tremendous year and is probably closer to top 2 or 3...there have been many games this year where opposing teams simply had no answer for him and he has been a tremendous shot blocker as well.
23. Nederland JV beat Crosby today by a 5-1 count
