Ha Ha Turn 2. I just changed it. I wanted to put my salute to PNG up there but the moderaters would prolly take it down.
I GUESS THATS BETTER THAN THE HAND GESTURE SALUTE YOU GAVE TO THE PNG CROWD 20 YEARS AGO
I was just letting them know who was #1. LOL
Was that after the 41-7 1989 beatdown or maybe the 27-0 1990 shut out or how about the 23-6 win in 1991. Or maybe the 54-0 arse kicking in 1992. I am sure after any of those you would have been correct in letting us know who number 1 was.
Do you have any friends? ;D ;D
Many believe it should be kept out of the local paper.
Yes, but Neuman could have stated, "No comment" or "we are handling this in house". I still say this isn't something you really go to print on, but I am not in that business.
I agree AAW, Neuman should have taken the high road and not allowed the PA News to quote him. He sure was quick to defend himself to the public via the newspaper. (An act of a guilty man ???) Sounds to me like he popped off to the player about his dad and lost the respect of a portion of the team.
You are stretching big time here and assuming things that you know nothing about...I said it before and will say it again, this is WAY bigger of a deal on this message board than it as on the practice field in Nederland...this thread has taken on a life of its own...crazy!
-
agreed...much bigger deal here than it is with the team, which is a good thing
I could understand chronicling this saga if it were the Eagles. But I find the fact that Halliburton and the PA News would find this issue suitable for this much coverage a bit troubling.
I agree grad...irresponsible journalism from the get go if you ask me...the team has moved past it...the only ones keeping this alive are the paper and this thread...the horse has be beaten to death and is dead...as much as you would like this to turn into greater problems akifan, I doubt that it will, but we appreciate your support ::) ::)...
Sometimes even the best engines need to be overhauled now and then.
The Dogs will be fine.
I agree...IMO this is being made way bigger of a deal than it really is and that is one of the dangers of message boards...another good example occurred on the PNG message board not long ago with a long thread about Faircloth's issues with the PNGISD administration and how he wouldn't be there for long if things continued the way they were...I suspect that issue, too, was blown way out of proportion...IMO, the Dogs have most likely already moved past this, as they should have and their focus, I suspect is clearly on the Vidor game this Friday night
-
just curious, did you say that last year too, sfa?
-
well said 2 x 2...you may not like everyone you play with but you have to find a way to make it work or else deem the situation intolerable and move on...that's what one player decided to do and that is certainly his right...this situation is no different than it can be in the real world once these kids get jobs and go to work...it is time to put whatever conflicts or personal opinions aside and focus on the future...who knows, this could serve as a rallying point for this group...at this point, I do believe that more is being made out of it than it really is but having it in the paper will do that...

Who will start at QB for Nederland?

Dionte was in full pads -
hang tight and see how this season plays out...i still feel confident that if this group can get/stay healthy, you will be looking at a pretty darn good football team

Who will start at QB for Nederland?
Razor replied to ReadOption's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It's not a rumor...he is back at practice this week...hopefully, by the time we play Vidor next Friday, everyone will be back...if this team is at full strength, they will be good...the problem at Nederland is not talent this year, it is injuries and depth...with everyone healthy, they can make a run at anyone in this district...unfortunately, we just haven't had that set of circumstances yet this season -
I think Smitty should be replaced at his job... ;) ;)
-
smitty was ignored as a child...we will leave his name off of the list for motivational speakers...and the answer to the question is yes they can

Nederland at Barbers Hill Game Thread/BH Wins/Comments
Razor replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Raines matured a ton last night and his 4th quarter performance was better than OK, it was outstanding...never happy with a loss, but these are non-district games and Nederland had a whole bunch of talent on the sidelines in shorts last night with injuries...as far as I know, most of these guys should be back after the bye week and ready for district...the key is avoiding major injuries the rest of the way...again, couldn't be prouder of the team for the 2nd half effort...it would have been real easy to lay down and quit...to me, this is one thing that people undervalue about Neumann and that's his ability to motivate a team no matter the circumstances... -

20-4A after 4 district games who ya got?
>PNG at the top. Impressive against Crosby. Crosby did little until the 4th Q at 31-0 when PNG was playing off and subbing backups. GP beat perinial power CC Callalen last night giving up only 8 points! A heart breaking 1 point loss to a very good team aint bad. Could easily be 2-0 against two teams that combined for 20 wins last year. >LCM defense gave up big numbers to a bad Nacogdoches team, but the offense dug em out. Not gonna happen every week in 20-4A. >Central has played two good 5A teams, but 93 points for a team that hangs its hat on defense?? The loss of Hale and the other LB may be more than most figured. Also 7 points total on offense. Ouch. >Nederland should be better when and if Forney comes back, but the lines are still suspect. >Lumberton started out 4-0 last year and beat better teams last year in BH and (JJ)Silsbee, then struggled in 20-4A. >Livingston pounded on Jasper, but see Lumberton week 0. Looks like Jasper is in trouble this year. >Vidor played well against Tx High (but THS had not seen that type of offense before), BC pasted the pirates. Nuff said. >Ozen we will find out more this evening. Intriguing team. Lots of speed.
Dude...watch Nederland before you make that prediction...the lines (particularly the o-line) has been one of the strong points in this young season -
I was only at the end of one of the practices earlier in the week and they were working (pretty hard I might say) on defense and tackling so Carson wasn't active in that...I will tell you this, in time, Carson will be fine...he has all of the tools and all he lacks is game experience and confidence...I would bet money that before it is all said and done, he will be one of the best QBs we have had in Nederland...remember, he is a 15 year old sophomore...he will only get better...Carson does not worry me at all
-
Carr was moving fine at practice earlier this week...Butler and Stampley are out for sure and it looks like Kemp will be limited with a hamstring strain this week...Bill looks doubtful as well

well i will put my two cents in on this because i call it like i see it. This game was all about momentum. And in all games turnovers cost us the game along with a bad fourth down decision. like it or not we should have won the game but we didnt. I honestly believe we should have kicked the fieldgoal. but with that being said say we kick the fieldgoal, that still gave gp over a minute and a few ticks left on the clock. i honestly can t say that our defense would have been able to hold the gp team from scoring again, the defense was a little better in the second half but i still say the secondary better step it up and get it together, they looked absolutely pathetic. But thankfully it is preseason and hopefully we can find someone who can defend the pass whether it is by holding tackling fouling what ever, my thinking is better to give up ten yards than give up the score over and over and over again. it was a great game even though we lost but it was an eye opener and should bring these kids back down to earth. Time to plan for Crosby and see if this doesnt light a fire under their butts, and i will close with this what is up with the swinging gate, surely they dont plan on using this garbage every week, i just absolutely hate the swinging gate lol just my opinion, thinking he is just showing everyone that it is just something else to have to try to stop , i dont know???????????
You know guys, the only difference between a "bad" fourth down decision and a good one is if the play succeeds. A first down would have allowed PNG to burn up more clock time, GP got lucky and got the stop, same with Lumberton and a 4th and inches against Jasper. If the play had succeeded, Coach Faircloth would have been called the best coach ever. ;)
Bingo...well said...if they had made it and went on to score, we would be hearing about what a genius the guy is by getting that first down and running the clock down to the bare minimum before PNG scored the winning points...keep in mind these decisions are not made hours and days after the game...they are made in a very short time frame by guys who know their personnel way better than any of the fans do -
Nederland only because of Carson, Good kid, and he was purple and white before he was black and gold !
What does that say about the purple and white if he left it??? Please get over yourselves ::)
I talked with 3 Nederland guys this afternoon whoo said its time to get a new coach. Just passing this on to you other Nederland fans for debabe.
What are Moe, Larry, and Curly doing in town anyway and why do they care about Nederland football? Please...how many coaches could have got that team into the playoffs last year after all of the injuries they had...for my money, I will stick with Neumann -
as long as we have that old coach with us I'm going to say we will lose every game.
Wow??? go back to the basketball thread and I will take the over on your zero win projection...wow...if I was in a foxhole with you, I would shoot you first and fight alone and be better off...lol

without a doubt basebow and I couldn't agree more...it is not time for panic...I said in a preseason post that this time make take some lumps early due to having so many young players but will only get better as the season rolls on...I stand by that
