1. Silva, GSP are the best overall IMO...I would like to see Fedor fight some of the UFC guys just to see what would happen
2. ...and who really cares if their RPI is higher...I am way more interested in how it plays out at the END of the season...if Lamar wins the conference and gets to the NCAA's with a 5,276 RPI, then I could care less
3. no...just starting later from what I understand
4. Ever changing...Nederland's 9th graders vs. WB JV TODAY at 3pm now...sorry for the confusion but this just changed again
5. Looks like they are cancelling today's games due to field conditions??  From what I hear, Nederland's 9th team will play WB JV tomorrow at 2pm
6. Believe me, if this is a district game and the same scenario presents itself, this would not be the decision...this is a preseason, non-district game that means nothing other than preparing the team for the rest of the season...Nederland has, in fact, thrown several pitchers and tried several lineup variations, as I believe they should, at this time of the season...it will serve the team well in the long run, which is what this is ultimately about...don't worry, the Dogs will be just fine
7. There has not been a draft for the 14/15 year old division yet...that season will not begin until May 1st as most of the 15s are playing HS ball
8. yep...hats off to the guys...Coach English has really buily a program there and look for more positive results next year
9. thx 1696...great job on the updates
10. I agree...haven't seen the size from the Beaumont schools that we have seen in the past.
11. Rain has cancelled the Nederland/PNG sophmore game
12.
Forney and Smith both bring something to the table. But it depends on what style of offense you run. Forney is more of a solid post man but Smith is more athletic than Forney so it balances out. An as far as their future, I dont even think Forney will play basketball next year.
??????...what makes you say Forney won't play basketball next year?  I doubt seriously you have anything solid to go on there and if you don't its a crazy statement to make.
13. I agree with Soulja...Nederland is most effective when working inside-out...feed the bigs early and often and kick out if necessary...if our guys can hit the open threes like they have been, then I see a Nedeland win...as for defending the "studs", I will disagree a little bit...I know that Frank went off big time in the Ozen win, but he struggled mightily in the most recent loss...Nederland made some key defensive adjustments and got him out of his rythym. Also important for Nederland to dominate the boards as they have been doing...Dionte, Kelvin, and Stewart have been cleaning the glass pretty well recently.
14. the Dogs will win...foreveradog was referring to the fact that both teams are "Bulldogs" and that is why I called it a safe bet...Nederland's bigs have been playing extremely well as of late...Magnolia apparently has some size that may be able to bother them some...in reading about Magnolia, their coach states their guard play is the team strength so Nederland's backcourt will have to step up and meet that challenge...I certainly think they are capable, but the interesting part of the matchup is that each teams strengths are the exact opposite of each other...whoever can capitalize on theirs the best will win
15. pretty safe bet...sounds like it should be an interesting matchup
16. Nederland's sophmore team won both of their games yesterday in the Nederland tourney...they beat West Brook 6-0 behind a strong outing from Sam Smith....followed that up with a night cap win over Bridge City by an 8-2 count...Mitchell Sanderson and Aaron Sampere pitched in this one...PNG today at 3pm
17. I am unofficially hearing this game will be at Deer Park on Friday at 7:30pm.
18. no doubt about it...district 19 took 20 to the woodshed this year
19.
What a year the BH beats Nederland the first and last game of their season....
so much for that prediction!
20. I would say that KP is definitely better than BH bu that is not the point...it was said that Nederland "lucked out" by getting BH instead of KP which is a bunch of garbage...Nederland EARNED the top seed by virtue of beating Ozen and the top seed gets the 4 seed, plain and simple...saying Nederland was lucky to get BH instead of KP is like saying Nederland is lucky they didn't have to play the Lakers in the first round because they would have gotten slaughtered...
21. Nederland made their own luck by beating Ozen.
22. It's way to early in the season to be crowning anyone state champs, that's for certain...I am just glad that baseball season is here and look forward to a great season...nice start for Nederland last night, but we all know they have pretty lofty goals for this season and this is hopefully just the beginning...baseball is a funny game as we all know and lots of things can happen, but at this point, I like Nederland's chances of having a pretty good year.
23. Nederland is going to be legit this year...remember they made the regional finals last year and have most of that team back...they took the highly heralded Brenham squad to the absolute brink
