Was the pitching change necesarry? It was definitely time for a change when it was made...Jannise pitched a GREAT game, but his pitch count was getting high and he was having a long inning and outs were getting hard to come by for him. Overall, these kids played great and most importantly with a lot of heart...the results were not what they expected, but to win sometimes you have to be lucky and good...these guys were pretty good, but did not get all the breaks (for example, one of Bryant's key hits in the inning was a swinging bunt)...that's life and hopefully these kids learn from that and use it for some good in the future.

With a due respect TVC I beg to differ bc you cannot tell me that certain Coaches schedule for some wins. What sounds better 0-10 or 3-7? Some want their teams to get off a strong start in hopes of that carrying over into district. OR OR they know that they are going to get stomped in district and want to get as many W's as they possble. Just my take bc it's a business whether we like it or not. Honestly etbu, 3-7 sucks just about as bad as 0-10...either way you are going nowhere and I doubt 3-7 with the wins against cupcakes saves many jobs.

Sweet...penny, you are right about Lasell, but in tournament play you cannot pitch more than 7 innings in any 2 consecutive days...since he pitched 7 yesterday, he is ineligible today. Seal the deal boys!

I was told that Fontenot went the distance for this game...Lasell went complete game last night so from what I understand, they have everyone available except Fontenot and Lasell...I assume Wharton may be in a similar predicament.

it's over...Nederland wins 1-0...next game coming at 3pm now instead of 5pm.

Livingston is one of many unknowns since the aren't really from our area directly...same could be said of Dayton when they were in our district, you just don't know what they have coming back so I consider them a wildcard...with all ofthe new coaches and systems this season, it should be very interesting.

Nederland will have to double dip Wharton tomorrow...Wharton upset Brazoswood earlier then Nederland got some redemption against Brazoswood with an 8 to nothing shutout win.

I assume they will be playing the Brazoswood B team later today? Brazoswood A should be waiting for the winner tomorrow.

the 14s will be hosting the state tournament next weekend at NHS...the tournament starts on 7-24 and will run through the weekend.

We too have taken lessons from Dustin and I would certainly recommend him...you will definitely get your money's worth and he relates to kids real well.

Bru, that would be medics in the plural form...one wasn't enough on that night.

While it may be fun to discuss who will be going where, predicting it accurately has proven to be just about impossible...I'll just wait until February and see how it shakes out.
