  1. I assume this is a one game, winner take all scenario?
  2. You 20-4A guy's might want to look out for Crosby and Kingwood Park. Either one of them could win their respective series. 19-4A was pretty solid this year. Good pitching and some excellent hitters from top to bottom. You may be right, but a combined 25-4 score for three games last night does not help your argument...20-4A laid a licking on 19-4A last night
  3. don't get me wrong, Kobe is a GREAT player, but a Michael Jordan wantabee nonetheless...he is a little bit of a punk if you ask me...he stirs up crap and then acts like, "who me?"...he is going to get his points, but the idea is for the Rockets to make hime spend a ton of energy doing so and maybe in doing so take some of the other guys out of the game...I am pulling for the Rockets, for certain, but I say Lakers in 6.
  4. this series is getting "chippy" and I love it...playoff basketball at its best..this is gonna be a great one to watch and these confrontations will happen each and every game for the rest of this series...hopefully, the Rockets will show their mettle and step up to the plate and hit the Lakers in the mouth this series...can't wait for Game 3 in Houston.
  5. Barkley is great, IMO...so what if his grammar is off sometime, I think that adds to the humor...you have to give the guy credit because he says what is exactly on his mind...my favorite was a few years back when they were talking about someones contract dispute and he said, "I would respect him more if he told the truth and said it was about the money."...pull no punches, Chuck...you are funny as heck!! Oh and Sager's suits are "turble" looking.
  6. Next year will certainly be interesting with the number of new coaches and systems being present in the district...I expect some of the teams that have had struggled in the recent past will be more competetive...and again, I think vidor will be tough with all of the returners they have coming back from a solid 2008 team...should be a very interesting season...what is it? half the teams in the district will have new head coaches next season?
  7. what was i thinkin??? thanx raider...i would have never known
  8. Where is this one being played at?
  9. Great point...turnover margin is key to success at any level of football.
  10. about as silly as implying that Nederland had spring practice only because PNG did...it was meant to be silly...I'm done with it.
  11. again, if you want to feel that PNG having spring football is the reason Nederland is, then go right ahead.
  12. I bet they are only getting one because Nederland has one. I know, sounds dumb, don't it...kinda like Nedeland is only having spring football because PNG is, huh?
  13. If you follow this rationale (which I do not), then I guess the only reason PNG is getting a booster club is because Nederland has one. p.s. my dad can beat your dad up.
  14. I will venture off topic about the bond one last time, but the bond truly is an investment in our community...anyone who thinks the quality of schools is not directly related to the long term economy of the community is mistaken...if we continue to let our schools age and deteriorate, our community will do the same...at that point, property values will drop.
  15. good point,badndn...PNG's is self funded as well.
  16. thanks, bigdog...just wanted to be certain the record was straight on that...it seems to be a common misconception around town that taxpayer money was used to pay for Nederland's scoreboard when it was not.
  17. In contention...yes...sleeper...no...I think everyone expects Vidor to be a significant factor next season so they won't be sneaking up on anybody.
  18. for the record, taxpayers in Nederland spent $0 on the Bulldog Stadium scoreboard.
  19. Yeh, I remember now...Carol Barnett...I didn't know she coached at PNG, too!
  20. I just have one question? Who in the heck is "Barnett"?
  21. bigdog, be sure you share that with everyone in Nederland who opposes the upcoming bond issue...turf is cheaper in the long run and allows more kids to be able to use the field without concern about damaging the surface.
  22. ...and 66, you are right in that respect, they have to prove themselves, thus the reason for Neumann wanting to get an early look...I believe that in 2009, Nederland will be relying on young talent more than the have in quite some time...we do not know how early success translates into Friday nights, but the past history of these kids indicates the have the ability to be successful...CO Wilson Middle School has not lost a game in 3 years and that includes against your "talented" Indian groups...will this translate into victories on Friday nights? maybe and maybe not, but time will tell. my point is, Neumann is NOT having spring practice because PNG is...he is having spring practice because he has a higher volume of young talent than he has had in some time and he wants to evaluate it for himself before they get to August.
  23. You PNG guys are entitled to your opinion, no matter how skewed and wrong it is...it often amazes me how some over there overvalue their impact...point is, we and many others on this board have been saying for quite some time now that Nederland has more talent coming down the pipe than they have in quite some time...next year's freshman thru junior classes may be some of the best talent Big Ned has had in some time, but only time will bear that out or refute it...this has a direct correlation to why Nederland wants to get an early look at some kids who the coaches may not have had a chance to see as much as they would like and that is MY opinion. But hey, if the PNG faithful sleep better at night thinking it has something to do with them, then go right ahead...talk about drinking the koolaid.
