  1. well, poor teams do tend to perform somewhat better at home and I would classify Dallas as a poor team at this point, at least offensively...they may not win, but I do expect them to perform at least marginally better which may be good enough to beat Detroit In short, I don't expect Dallas to win many road games this year...at present time, they simply aren't good enough
  2. they are getting really hard to watch on the offensive side of the ball...this "great" o-line has been pretty much garbage so far this season, especially in pass protection...I initially want to say that dak isn't cutting it either, but it's pretty hard to evaluate a guy who is throwing with guys in his face and at his feet on almost every drop back I have supported Garrett in the past, but he and Linehan have had plenty of time to work with this offense and frankly, I am not impressed...time for change and I think sooner rather than later...personally I am ready for Kris Richard to take the helm but that would require getting an offensive guy to take over that side of the ball...at least I think Richard brings the fire that this team needs and if guys won't play for him, they need to hit the road Diehard fan here, but this is getting very tiresome
  3. I think it's pretty simple...if you touch the Qb's skirt in any way, its going to be a penalty
  4. Akifan, your excuses only make the victory last year that much more enjoyable! the fact that Nederland won even 1 time when you guys have a once in a generation talent has to be disappointing in Indian land
  5. Much to do about nothing, IMO...my bet would be that png's QB next year will be Roschon
  6. Agreeing with my buddy, Soulja, on this...he may get nervous...lol. I am willing to bet that Coach T and even the aforementioned Nick Saban, would not be in favor of parades for 2nd place teams; the accomplishment is still significant to say the least and this community should be proud of the team, no doubt, but a parade is a bit much; save that for championships, please!
  7. Classy statrax...good post...for the time being anyway, Nederland is blood and guts and png is glamour and glitz...it's diverse styles that make the rivalry that much more interesting (Celtics/Lakers of the 80's)
  8. And no doubt, Roschon is an absolute stud...kid is a special talent and played his heart out...Dogs just had the ball last and Monte had the guts to go for 2 with a great play design...kids executed it and the rest is history...dogs going for 2 actually is a hat tip to Roschon...didn’t want to give him the ball back
  9. Roll call....bia? bia?
  10. you guys had problems with simmons last year until he got hurt
  11. png should win...you guys have a once in a generation talent playing QB for you...not sure what you guys can say if Nederland happens to pull out the "W"?
  12. Thank you, Mr. positive...the kid has exceptional tools, the best of which includes his understanding of the game and court vision...I was extremely impressed with his feel for the game, particularly as a freshman...he is already REALLY good and will only get better...apparently some pretty smart basketball people think so as well
  13. I know nothing about the other circumstance so I won't comment on that
  14. No eligibility questions here, soulja! the kids family , mom and dad, have been bulldogs for years...nice try, though
  15. PAM had a very impressive and athletic D, which will challenge png's explosive offense...Johnson is a legit threat and he will get his, but he will need some help and he will have to work a little harder to be successful against the Titan D (although I think he will have his fair share of success, the kid is just that good). Offensively, PAM did not impress me and appear one dimensional to me by struggling in the pass game...it appeared to me the PAM became afraid to throw the ball against Nederland and became totally one dimensional. Tough pick, but I will say: png 28 PAM 17
  16. Anybody checked on ole rob? Haven't heard much from him since Saturday.
  17. keep in mind that some of these guys are AD's and some are not; that is a significant difference is responsibility
  18. To give it an optimistic look, Nederland played quite a few sophomores last year and they gained valuable game experience that will only help them the next 2 years...I remember that happening another time here recently (2010) and the 2011 and 2012 teams ended up 2-time undefeated district champs, going 3 and 4 rounds deep, respectively...not saying that's a sure thing for this group, but it is far from a lost cause...that Friday night experience those players got last year will benefit them
  19. Reagan/smitty is just a guy who likes to gripe and be miserable...I say we let him do it, ALONE!
  20. Yep...those guys sure haven't had much success...lol
  21. Like they always say, always be faithful to purple and ....grey? hey, I'm a bulldog fan so can't miss the chance to dig on png a little bit...I could personally care less what any school does with the colors of their uniforms, so long as you can read the numbers on the jersey...ozen with the yellow numbers on white jerseys was a bit difficult to read, but again, it's their choice
  22. Oh and there are successful people from Nederland, despite what you imply here...amazing, I know, but true
  23. Still no compelling reason that an outsider would ensure success...with barrow you already know that he was an integral part of what has been a very successful program...it amazes me that you think outsider equals certain success
