The backfield should see some new faces as senior Luke Broussard currently has the lead in the quarterback battle and will be joined by senior Ethan Fobbs. The Bulldog receiver corp has a solid foundation to build around as senior wide receiver Kyndon Fuselier (12-5A-II District MVP, Honorable Mention TSWA All-State) returns. The skills group will be operating behind a veteran offensive line lead by seniors Mike Marshall (1st team all-district) and Holder Craver (2nd team all-district) as well as junior lineman Jack Bieber. DEFENSE Five starters return to the Nederland 4-2-5 defense in 2021. The front line will be formed around junior Landon Caywood (2nd team all-district in 2021) and senior Jacob Kotz and will feature the return of senior lineman Gabe Lopez from injury in 2020. Senior inside linebacker Jaice Beck (1st team all-district) will head a linebacker crew which will also feature outside linebacker Kaydon Gonzales. Senior cornerback Steven Bourgeois (1st team all-district in 2021) will lead a secondary which will also feature Fuselier.

5A Region 3 is always one of the best in Texas, it is loaded with these strong teams this year. Friendswood, Kingwood Park, Magnolia, Austin McCallum, Austin Anderson, Brenham, Elgin, Pflugerville Hendrickson, Montgomery Lake Creek. Barbers Hill, PNG, Crosby & Nederland will have a tough road to get thru the 3rd round or win this region. B.H. probably has the pitching & defense to make a run & PNG probably has the coaching & strongest hitting team to make a run in 5A from the setx area.
