Come on guys stop crying & except the fact that your negative opinions about Coach Barrow were nothing but B.S. & the best man got the job. Anyone but Barrow would have made you & ole navydawg happy and it has nothing to do with his coaching abilities or resume. Barrow could win state & you guys would still say these Bobby August type coaches are better. You can do all the what if this & that you want,but the fact is Coach Barrow was the best, most qualified man for the job,if not the anti "good ole boy" system crowd, school board & super would have ran him out of town in a heart beat. Still Not sure why the strong anti barrow feelings & dislike of the man & his abilities that have led to many successful men & women while they played for him & in the real world after high school sports not just football, see thats the key you guys dont get Barrow is 100% all for any Nederland sport & activity. Its got to be a personal problem with you guys,you, a son or a family member that maybe things didnt go the way you wanted so you blame the coaches for the rest of your lives??? Katy is a nice area with nice homes you guys can move to & watch the great cinco ranch dc do his thing every practice & friday nite. Sorry fellas but the BULLDOG WAY & ALL FOR ONE ONE FOR ALL will be carried on a few more years........... Doubt it will be a difference at all unless major improvement is made over summer understanding offense ,making right reads of defenses & with no pass no play. Ended up being back up on jv & out played by a wr switched to QB the last 5 games.

Bottom line is the Head Football coach/AD hire should be about whats best for Nederland,Nederland Athletics, the football players & keeping the same solid program going for the next 25 years with Coach Barrow. If its about "good ole boy" ego politics,personal agendas, controlling the athletic budget to get more money for basketball or any other bs then the next 25yrs will be uncertain

What makes a better AD? 23 yrs learning the day to day job under an AD/Head football coach like Larry Neumann or the other options? Is this about controlling the hiring & athletic budget because some non football people believe their sports should get equal or more $$$ as football? Ive been to booster club meetings & trust me all the other sports do get taken care of. This should be about whats best for the whole athletic program & the best football coach for the town of Nederland. Head Basketball coach position is filled & program is in fine shape, no need to mess with a good thing right???

Monte Barrow has been for ALL Nederland sports his whole life. He's coached several different ones & I seen him at all the sports games the last 23 yrs.

If nisd gives 2 employees both $25,000 plus raises when 1 guy can do the job like 99% of other texas isd's there will be major budget issues & with all other teachers who want raises...

If you think Head football/AD success helps passing a bond you are wrong. If Larry Neumann & his 23 year success can't convince citizens to help pass a bond for new schools & facilities what makes anyone believe an outside guy that has never been to Nederland or a guy who has'nt been apart of Nederland since they graduated going to come in & change the no voters to yes?

Still havent heard any valid reasons why Barrow is not the best qualified or a good choice? If Neumann & his system makes him go down as a great coach & legend in the nederland coaching ranks then how is a coach that learned from him for 23 years not a good hire? Only thing i hear is good ole boy system that exists everywhere. Even any new outside coach is gunna bring in some of his boys.
