Week-2 Port Arthur Memorial at Nederland Predictions
KF89 replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in High School Football
If PA defense has the usual hard hitting cats flying around Nederland offensive "play makers" & RB's will probably be limping off the field every 3rd play, Ned QB is about the only guy who takes hard hits\tackles & keeps coming every play for 4 quarters. Play making ability & speed are excellent offensive skills, if you can stay in the game for the majority of the snaps. -
West Orange-Stark (40) @ Nederland (34) - FINAL
KF89 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Nederland lost 1 fumble. Sunday took a hard shot on a run & the ball popped out. Team\Players\,EXP. are overall better than last year. WOS made adjustments after halftime that shut most of Ned offense down, especially in the 4th. WOS offense came out 2nd half & ran straight at Ned Defense. Ned staff didn't have any answers offensively or defensively to counter WOS adjustments in 2nd half. OL played good the 1st half & 1 drive in the 3rd, WOS had 30 total players suited up & majority playing both ways. No excuse for Ned not having their players in better shape. Secondary gave up 2 deep throws for tds & missed alot of tackles in the 2nd half along with the rest of defense. If 2-8 coaching staffs or legit OC's are worried about opening the playbook to win a game because of future opponents seeing their plays they don't need to be coaching. -
Hamshire-Fannett (35) @ Lumberton (20) - FINAL

100% agree, #12 is legit QB & Zeno being used at WR & some running plays makes HF offense harder to defend Of all the players that left or stoped playing at Nederland, Bryson was the biggest loss. -

Sheffield production is not doing Nederland Games this year!!
KF89 replied to lcm93's topic in High School Football
Sheffield Productions always did a good job, good people. -
Good 1st game matchup for both teams. Zeno for HF is a legit play maker, can score any time he touches it whatever position he plays. Young QB for HF Bryson? looked good in Nederland scrimmage. Strong arm, accurate & made all the throws. L-Towns offense is a problem for any defense once they get rolling, their size & depth might be too much for HF to deal with for 4 quarters.

This group has been doing this type cheating for the last 20 years. The Babe Ruth officials that let it happen over the years all need to be replaced & banned with the rawdog organization.
-
2 teams that will have a hard time winning games this year, again... Both have a few skilled players, but not enuff quality 5A\6A talent or depth to compete with the top teams in there districts. Unless these Nederland players coming in from 8th grade have Jamal Charles\ Roshon Johnson type skills, which i have seen all play & they don't, they will not make any difference on varsity in the W column

Another excuse for NISD paying top price for a base model product. Same with the "improvements" you speak of, paid top dollar bond money & still got more than half the school buildings still 40 years beyond...
-
Ok, if you say so....
-
Like i said time will tell. I have also seen the issues at EVERY school. One thing for sure that will happen is the Admins & school board will have a big celebration with all the news stations at the ribbon cutting for the opening of the new high school, they will take all the credit, pat each other on the back, retire & then blame the city residents for not passing a bigger bond, paying enough taxes when things start going wrong, the truths that were hidden during the construction start coming out or buildings start sinking into the canal in a few years.....
-
Time will tell if Mr. Kleins investigations & reports are garbage. It hasn't been a very good track record for NISD since the start of the bond construction process, in fact 'garbage' would be a great word to describe this process by many in the Nederland community.

Fair analysis & valid points. IMO these pre season practices & scrimmages should be used to find out who can best get the job done at each position. West Brook will be an even better test to find out if the new O.C. has brought any explosiveness to the offense, if the returning starters improved from last year & what new players have what it takes to step up to make the team better.
-
Offense was decent, saw some same issues that hurt them last year, still lingering. With 8 starters back on Defense I expected them to control HF more, but HF offense gave them all they could handle. HF young QB looked good, strong arm exposed Ned. secondary on several plays. Tackling was not sharp overall, imo. But it was the 1st real action, so we will see if the coaches get things fixed in time for WOS.
