I will be glad to talk about any sport topic you would like, but i am positive the forum peeps do not want to see our discussion anymore. Next time Nederland has a game i can talk with you about this. Matter of fact since you brought up "swing & miss" i will be at the Nederland baseball scrimmage this evening watching my nephew, it would be great meeting new people to talk Nederland, PNG or sports in general with to get new understandings & ideas. This way you do not have to tread lightly you can speak freely about anything you think you might know about including me or my kids. I did congratulate Smith & his team. Your response was posting no wins for png vs. 5A schools & 4 loses to 4A teams in response trying to down grade their playoff spot & 3 wins over Ned. You Also said they would get slaughtered 1st round, so who is banging on teams\coaches? I posted factual records of Ned this season to show you their was not much difference in the seasons for either png or Ned. except Smith & png handled business in district when games counted the most. Posting of Ned records last 8 years was not banging on anyone, just putting the info out there to give a better overall look at the program since it is in rebuilding mode. Bottom line is you got upset probably a faithful Big Ned hooper Alum over my post the tide is starting to turn purple & smith pulling the hat trick on english squad getting swept🧹🧹🧹. No harm intended, just excitement to stir up the forum. Fact is English has done a solid job at Nederland since taking over around ‘07 ish compared to those bad teams from 97 ish. to 05 ish. Just have your umbrella ready for the purple rain that’s coming in the future☔️☔️☔️

Your factual records are what you think. The real factual records in the record books are the tide is starting to turn a little purple with a 3-0 sweep of Nederland & Smith has 4 wins over English in 4 years. If you think what I posted is "banging on a team or coach" then I apologize for offending you, I forget about how easy some folks get feelings hurt now days over facts & truth. One last note, I've known both Smith & English quite well for over 25 years on & off the basketball court. Both quality basketball guys & good family men. Nothing i posted on here i wouldn't say to them in person, both probably laughing & calling me a wise guy if they read this forum, but neither could say i don't tell it straight up. Can't wait to see English & pull out a mini broom & dust pan😎

Never said a negative word about English just stated factual records. Like another poster said he did the most with what he had to work with.

If i'm not mistaken you posted a png win\loses stat first so i just responded with some other stats. Far from a png fan, just giving credit to Smith & his players. Man took over a bad png program 4 years ago that was always finishing in last place in district, now he has them finishing in the 4th playoff spot & going 3-0 vs. Nederland.

Nederland hasn't been able to score points since the days of Forney, K. Smith & Weisbrod crews. Nederland always has a few young players developing on varsity, Ned. JV is usually very good also, but that has only translated to 3, 4th place district finishes, 4, 3rd place finishes in district, 1, tie for 1st place in district & an 3-8 playoff record the last 8 years. 4 of those years English had some good players including 4 year starter the 3 star, D1 stud, NBA talented Hefner roaming the dog dome. Dogs should be better next year, but don't count Smith's Indians out with his ability to get the most out of what he has to work with like this year & keep the purple tide coming at the black & gold.

Nederland plays similar schedule as PNG(WOS, BC, LCM, Kelly, Vidor, HJ, HF) Nederland had 1 win against an out of district 5A\6A school this year-Dayton which finished 9-25 \ 0-10 this year. 0-5 vs. other 5A\6A schools. 1-6 overall 10 wins out of 13 were over 4A\3A\2A schools. Which is the typical Ned schedule the last several years. 2 losses to 4A schools this year.

Smith did the most with what he had, right? Not much difference between Ned., Crosby, Sterling. Smith won when it counted vs. those district teams. 3-0 vs. Nederland(2-0 in district), 2-0 vs. Sterling & 1-1 vs Crosby.

I agree with the weak overall district basketball play.

The tide is changing to purple.... Smith has some quality young talent coming up also, so does P.A, so does B.H., so does GCM.

Damn that would give Nederland 2 of the top 5 pitchers in East Tx then. Kendrick must have been flying under the radar, did he pitch much last year & dominate? or this is based on future potential?
