RBs Jordan Reaves (170 yards, 3 TDs rushing) and Kelton Weathers (292 yards, 2 TDs rushing; 18-194, 1 TD receiving) should pace the ground attack, while WR- Tristen Brown (333 yards, 4 TDs receiving) is the key returning target in the passing game. Magnolia West 2022 INFO The Mustangs have a couple of key questions on offense as they’ll be young & inexperienced at QB and on the offensive line, but they do return RB- Kai Aroca-Disdier (946 yards, 9 TDs rushing; 12-111, 1 TD receiving) and WR- Colton Adcox (47-608, 4 TDs receiving), both of these playmakers will be vital to the Mustangs’ success. Junior WR- Gus Jordan (14-229, 4 TDs receiving) impressed as a sophomore and could be a bigger player in the offense. The defense will be the teams strength bringing back experience at all three levels led by a solid duo of linebackers in Tyler Harsch (109 tackles, 10 TFL, 4 sacks) and Caylin Dygert (63 tackles, 9 TFL, 1 sack, 2 INTs). Junior LB- Sam Mattingly (28-380, 6 TDs receiving) makes the move from WR to LB and will help the defense out as well.

Brazoswood 2021 Results- Overall 4-6 / 1-5 District Record Lettermen R/L- 21/29 Returning Starters- Offense- 7 Defense- 5 2022 INFO-The Brazoswood Bucs have a new head coach after the departure of Danny Youngs to Brenham, as Brazoswood brings in Joe Dale Cary who was the head coach at Hondo. Cary’s first goal will be to try and get the Buccaneers to the playoffs for the first time since 2012. There’s reason for optimism for the Bucs as seven starters are back on the offensive side of the ball led by speedy WR- Kade Bengston and QB- Issac Ponce. OL- Dawson Scott is a talented prospect up front and will anchor the offensive line. The strength of a young Brazoswood defense will be linebackers Croix Rivera and Ronnie Jones, who will anchor the front seven and will be counted on to provide senior leadership. Cary says the big question mark heading into 2022 will be inexperience along the defensive line. Impact Players LB- Croix Rivera- 6-1, 195, 4.6 LB- Ronnie Jones- 5-10, 215, 4.7 WR- Kade Bengston- 6-2, 190, 4.5 OL- Dawson Scott- 6-3, 270 QB- Isaac Ponce- 6-0, 185, 4.6 TE- Riker Blank- 6-0, 205, 4.8 DB- Danner Bowles- 6-2, 175, 4.5 LB- Caleb Warren- 6-3, 215, 4.7 DB- Jose Trevino- 6-1, 170, 4.5

D-PARK 2021Results- 8-3, District Champs, Bi-District Finalist / 6-0 District Record Lettermen R/L- 24/41 Returning Starters- Offense- 4 Defense-5 2022 INFO- Deer Park put it all together in Coach Flynn’s fourth season at the helm, winning eight games and bringing home a district title in 2021. A good senior class has moved on, but there’s still enough talent in place that Deer should again challenge for a district title. The offense has some firepower returning with RB- Ernasmo Canales (743 yards, 14 TDs rushing), while WR- Hayden Smith (24-446, 4 TDs receiving) is expected to be the deep threat. The defense will get a big boost with the return of LB- Dino Demetriou, who suffered a season ending injury in Week 2 last year. DL- Luke Webb (16 tackles, 3 sacks) and DB- Tudi Gustave (29 tackles, 2 INTs) will be key returners for the defense. Coach Flynn says the big concern is breaking in a new quarterback and several new offensive linemen in 2022. Impact Players LB- Dino Demetriou- 6-1, 205, 4.6 RB- Erasmo Canales- 6-0, 210, 4.7 DL- Caleb Dilley- 6-2, 260, 4.9 DL- Luke Webb- 6-3, 265 WR- Hayden Smith- 5-10, 165, 4.6 DB- Tudi Gustave- 5-10, 190, 4.6 LB- Caleb Espinoza- 5-10, 200, 4.6

LUFKIN TOURNAMENT 8/18-8/20-NEDERLAND PLACES 3RD
KF89 replied to KF89's topic in High School Volleyball
I agree 100%, but some coaches put more stock into playing lower division teams every year, to build confidence(pad wins) then playing equal or higher division teams that actual make a team stronger...
