Who gives a flip about Tarkington? No one cares about them. And yes the Same hardin team that barely beat Tarkington. You beat 2 teams that barely beat them.
"Don't be bringing down Major Applewhite's name into this. He's a UT icon! He has to make his rounds to some of these schools out of pity...that's the only way I can explain it. I'm not sure what you two are bickering about cause it's clear Liberty has its flaws. Let's get out of fantasy land... You're tryin to tell me that Huntington will win by 3-4 scores? Are you insane? They were owned 54-28 last yr...You support your statements of how they have turned it around enough to not only win but win by that large a margin this time around. There's no wishful thinking in football! You just better mark October 6 on your calendar cause that's where the real showdown is. Hook'em horns!" that's why i quoted hookm_horns.. i was actually talking to him.. an btw i didn't beat anyone.. i haven't played in years.. second what's your point?
Agreed. When Liberty plays a team that is not Peewee league status, then the hype can begin. This week could be first real test.
same hardin team that beat tarkington.. right?

is k park that much worse than they were last year?

I am a Liberty supporter. I have many friends in the community and know several kids on the team. I hope they have a great season. Having said that, I fear they may be believing their own hype just a little too much. They have been impressive so far this season, outscoring opponents 89-0. Fitzwater has 6 td passes and 0 picks through two games. I expect them to defeat Porter, but I do expect it to be a little closer then the first two weeks. Week 3 is when I see their first true test. Kelly will be strong, they are strong. Liberty has to remain focused and quit believing that they have already won something. If they get past Kelly, I feel there is a strong possibility that we could be headed toward a 9-0 Liberty vs a 9-0 Coldspring for the district title in week 10. That would be great, but I still feel Coldspring is much better than Liberty.
lets remember that post on here are fans opinions and do not necessarily reflect players beliefs..
You and I both know that most of these new Liberty posters are players on the team. That much has been admitted in other threads. All I am saying is that they must stay hungry. Resting on what they have accomplished so far would be a travesty. They've beaten two teams who might win a combined 5 games this year. They better keep it in high gear and not start coasting. They have accomplished nothing. Lots more work to do. Keep doing it boys.
to my knowledge only one guy on here is on the team.. dunno.. who ever said liberty was satisfied or not hungry? why is everyone assuming that because we're happy that we're 2-0 so far this year compared to 0-2 last year that we (liberty fans) are satisfied? i KNOW the players aren't.. everybody wants to be a "debbie downer" on here and try to keep these kids in the gutter which i find sad.. excuse us for not sayin "you've done nothing, don't be happy, blah blah.." btw.. i don't think ur tarkington horns will get A single win.. so.. maybe there should be more focus there..

k park... again..

I got Liberty by double digits in this one, they've put up 49 and 40 points on their opponents with their best player Jones touching the ball 9 times total on offense but still has the most touchdowns on the team with 3...that means Liberty has loads of targets in Williams, Mosely, Vaught, Antoine (Already 371 rushing yards), Melton, Fregia, and a really good QB...once they play a team (Kelly) maybe porter that will test their other targets they will unleash Jones and he will have two huge games like he had last year on those two teams.
-
looked excellent.. in control of offense.. reading coverages good, checking down the right way.. manipulaing safeties.. even running the ball and putting shoulder down at end of runs.. nice..

liberty by 21..
I dont know who will win it...... but why should Liberty win that big? Didn't Huntington beat them handily last year? Just sayin...
hardin beat them 56-28 and lost 49-0.. just sayin..
I agree with an earlier poster as this happens a lot with 19 yr olds. If a kid was held back a year in school prior to attending high school he would probably be 19 at some point during the football season. Once you make it to high school you only have four years of eligibility. Now, I do find it difficult to believe a soon to be 20 yr old didn't know his correct age.
how do you miss years of dates marked out in black marker?

Maple inherited a bad situation last year coming in at the end of June after the sudden un-wanted departure of the then Head Coach Ricky Tullos and his staff. You can’t judge a program on one year of hardships. After struggling last year I look for Cleveland to rise back up and be a very competitive football team, they are young but very talented. Cleveland has good kids and a good coaching staff. Look for them to get back into the playoffs. 2007 4-7 (4-1) 2008 10-1 (5-0) 2009 10-2 (5-0) 2010 2-8 (2-4) 2011 ??? Good Luck Clayton
Maples has turned this team around this year, this is not the same team as last year, I guarantee no one team including Coldsprings will run threw Cleveland like everyone is thinking, not only does this team have big talent this year you also have a group of kids whom has grown up together and can read what the other one is thinking, they arent playing as individuals anymore there playing as a team finally, that is something we lacked in the last 2 years, and I promise it makes a HUGE difference come game time. Coldsprings probably will take first but I promise Cleveland will be right behind them.... Good luck to all of our teams in district play..
who's the major talent? i seen one guy that seems to be pretty good after looking over the stat sheets but stats are just numers.. so maybe there's more there..?
By hanging with Kingwood Park do you mean surviving? Cleveland didnt move the football and started acting like the Cleveland of old, undisciplined and committing what would be several personal fouls. Coldspring is no doubt the powerhouse, but Cleveland or Liberty wont be able to handle Huffman's defense or Darian Grey. Hardin, Hardin Jefferson and Caney Creek are three weak opponents, and even tougher to compare being 2A, 3A and 4A, but this week should tell a lot. Liberty gets to attempt to avenge a loss against Huntington, can't believe I'm saying that, Huffman has Houston Kashmere who scored 20 something on Sealy and Cleveland will get strummed by Silsbee. You guys are trying to make this district more interesting than what it actually is.
willing to bet you haven't even seen the teams that are being fielded this year yet you're saying who can't do what.. we value that opinion..
Cleveland all the way! Too much talent for Silsbee to handle. Cleveland-51 8) Silsbee-13
did ya'll not have more talent on the team when ya'll lost last year?

got em! ;D
I agree that Coldsprings will be top in district. Would sure like to see Huffman take the second spot, which says a lot for the new QB and the coaching staff after losing some good players. Don't think Liberty will be in the hunt for long.
you mean the 11-27 vs hj (terrible hj) qb.. ok, good luck ;D

a couple weeks ago??? the season started friday.. please tell me you're not referring to a scrimmage..

got ya.. long as they don't beat liberty and do beat huffman i wish them all the best.. lol :o
Yes Cleveland lost a few players, HOWEVER, Cleveland has a better squad this year then they have had in years, Cleveland has had to over come quite a few problems over the last few years but let me tell you, this group of boys are young and ready to play some hard core football, Friday nights game was surprising to alot of people, these boys walked all over Caney Creek like they were a 2a school, so dont count Cleveland out just because of our record last year....... GO INDIANS GO
caney creek was 5-5 last year with a qb that completed less than 50% of his passes and their best player, sykes (1200 yds rushing last year) graduated.. so i don't think that win says much.. imo
