1. All I remember about playing Jasper is they were always stronger then any other team. Man I don't know how they did it but there strength coach was ahead of his time back then. I hope they get back to just imposing there will on teams. It was a beautiful thing to watch them wear teams out in the 90's
2. Can't take nothing away from Vidor and Coach Matthews he has done a great job with the program. Very sound group of players nothing flashy good ole throwback football. I couldn't help but read this and wonder has high school football gotten to the point to were in July Vidor just knows they are in the playoffs. PERIOD !!!! Man stay in your lane enjoy the new found success but be humble with it.
3. I was going to comment on this but then I saw were is was written by a BHill fan. No one and I mean no one posted more noise, trash and smack talking last year then the BHill fans talking about there inferiority after that 10-0 season and wins over Dayton and Nederland. They were FINALLY going to get a playoff win last year only to lose to Ozen first round and be quiet on the message board the rest of the year. So I will say the inferiority of PAM is the something BHill fans was thinking when they were 10-0 last year. Only thing is that PAM actually did win a playoff game on the field not on this message board.

That seems to be the excuse used when your team doesn't compete for the district crown. Central winning record over PAM won't last to long and as for as West Brook well the program seems to be headed for a all time low. It has taken the city of Port Arthur a while to buy into the one school concept, but winning breeds tradition and the tradition has started. We had too battle with some head coaches that didn't even want to be at the school. Coach Harrison has got all the kids on board with his work habits and this ship known as PAM is moving forwjrard and finally becoming what most thought it would be years ago.
I agree the ships sailing forward after sitting still for a while..just sayin before i yelled full speed ahead id make sure everyones on board and i had the captain that could get ya by the big icebergs before u jumped aboard the port arthur titanic
when you can have 9th graders on Varsity at Memorial something is going good there. i think after the past 2 years everybody is on board now. if they not they can move to Alice. ;)
This past year seniors lost to North Shore as Freshman too, but I don't think it played a part in the game October 7, 2011. For anyone that is not aboard it would hard to find a Region 3 team with 6 wins in the playoffs the past 2 years beside PAM. So like I said unlike in the past the kids have a coach that believes and they believe in him when it's time to go to war. The 2011 season was ground breaking after taken a few steps back in past years.
why would you expect to see WB ranked? The Brook never gets any love....especially after the debacle last season. Dwindling numbers, in the program, and a new HC....it will be a while before WB is a contender again. Just sayin.
I hate to say it but that's true

7. You have to win for it to be called a rivalry. Until last year playoff win over LaPorte the Bulldogs had pretty much owned not just owned but dominated PAM. We had struggle with there power run game. I say after we win two in a row the rivalry will be "on"
8. I think if we get moderate QB things will be ok.You don't just replace a 1st team All State QB and have no effects. PAM has to replace some talent in skill postions but we must not forget we had a pretty good OL and DL last year. PAM was more then able to win in the trenches all season long ( but against Steele). All you haters predicting a fall from grace don't be so fast to sell this year PAM team short. All of these kids were along for the ride last year and want to make a magical run themselves come Nov and Dec.
9. Time will tell there are tons of kids who names we have never even heard. That well came out of no where, and become legit players. Some kids seem to figure it out a little late but it's better late then never. I like the overall height weight and speed of the prospects in South East Texas.
10. Trust no one in there right mind has forgotten about the Bulldogs. Hell Nick Saban in LaPorte probably recruiting as we speak. LOL !! LaPorte has to be preseason fav this year so that's no secret. Of course North Shore will be preseason pick to win district in all the magazines but they are every year by default. The real football fans know that LaPorte is loaded and ever since they come to district 21-5a it's no secret they been talking about the 2011 and 2012 team chances at state a long time.
11. Patrick Reed of Silsbee has been tearing up the local camps. Just finshed 2nd at the LSU camp in Lake Charles should of been first easily.
12. JhaJuan Seales senior WR at Port Arthur Mem. committed to University of Houston late Sunday Night.
13. Good facts thanks !!! I played for Willie at Blinn on the team that won the title and came home to Lamar to graduate.
14. Good luck Coach Stump !!! It's been a joy watching your teams play the last 7 years.

You get what you pay for I wonder what Woodard pay is on the scale of other Southland coaches. I'm sure it is at the bottom. It's not like the guy was winning at Navarro JC. Willie Fritz the coach at Sam Houston was whipping him in the JUCO ranks so are we really surprise. The next coach should be from the area and bulid a fence around this area. There is no way that kids from this area should have offers from SFA NW St. or Sam Houston and not Lamar then when we play them we getting stomped. Really !!! All these teams have SE Texas kids on there rosters. The MLB / QB from Vidor should already have a offer and it should be from Lamar. The guy my not have the measureables but he can for surely play MLB. With some weight training he can at least stop them from giving up huge YPC in rushing game. Not saying that the guy will end up at LU but what ar they waiting on. J. Nelson should of been offered after his Jr. season. Did the coaches not see the numbers and look at the tape and think slot WR ? In the line of Wes Welker. The kids just has the skill set to get open.
Man, where are you getting your information? Coach Woodard makes $150,000 plus incentives. Fritz doesn't make close to that at SHSU. Then he was whipping Woodard at the juco level? Fritz was the Head Coach at Blinn when Woodard was the DC at Kilgore. Then they offerred J. Nelson a long time ago. Maybe not after his junior year but early in his senior season. There is no Coach going to get all the talent in SE Texas. That is dreaming as some kids want to go off to college. Believe me I have had questions about the coaching staff but obviously you are not in the know at Lamar. [Hidden Content]
I hear what you saying but when I say beating him I was comparing the Blinn offense to the Kilgore defense which Woodard was running at the time. When I say offer a kid I meant early. I know that Lamar will never get all the athletes but I'm sure if you follow Lamar recruiting you will have questions too. Not here to put the program down I just want to see the Redbirds suceed. I'm not that old but kids seem to value the first school that spots there talent. Being the first school to offer a kid a scholarship can pay off real big in the end.

18. The ranking mean nothing when you go off to college it's no more shelter at home. If you go back thru time there is more 5 stars that don't suceed in college then do. The history records will prove that. Brandon Williams is a 5 star and a hell of a player but what is the deal with the kid leaving OU. Hmmm It's not like Summerlin is going to run the ball. Mike Davis is not a 5 star recruit it's no one the kid was inured last yr as a Jr. Look at his numbers compared to Trey Green at Ozen and you will see what the problem is with rankings. Matt Davis is a 4 star for by all recruiting services numbers ranging from 108 - 121. Goodluck I can see the guy playing another postion in college.
19. Port Arthur Mem and LaPorte regualar season. PAM lead the whole game til the final 33 secs. Laporte used a 12 play drive and converted a 4&9 along the way to the GW touchdown
20. They both have had GREAT career I keep hearing about Gray's national accomplishments but Trey dd this with a school that just started varsity football four years ago. I think the real questions is can A&M hold on to Trey Williams and Addison after this weekend. Man those kids put on a show. I know there where a lot of coaches in attendance at Jerry's World. I think A&M will lose both rumors where floating around hot and heavy there where both decommitting.
21. I just had a questions that I know someone here can help me with. I have seen lots of football this past year. With that being said can some tell me if Lamar is recruiting any kids from the area like Nederland Corbin Carr #99 ? I watched a few Bulldogs games and a few Lamar games too.  Lamar Defense to say the least needs players and dude can flat out ball. If not I wonder what there wait is ?
22.
I'm curious, I wonder if when the Titans beat Cibolo does anyone think they'll actually make it on the top 50 in the national polls, replacing maybe Katy who lost? Could they even possible take Cibolo's place at number 18?
PAM is number 39
23. All  I can say is that it wouldn't Lamar if they did the right thing 50 +++ catches 1100 +++yards 17 TD. Makes plays in the kicking game and he can't get a place to play football next year. I going to say that some D 1 school that actually recruits will see this guy and think it's a diamond in the rough. Let's go Titans !!!!
24. Great game plan on both sides. Coach Harrison and the coaches deserve a A+++++ for changing things up. It's been a long time coming to beat these Bulldogs. I can say that people think it's been 5 years the loses to LaPorte go way back to the early 90's. Those were ugly losses too.
