What are you talking about Dove...sour lake has many attractions....Our secret to great consistant basketball lies within the secret mineral water just like the old day's they flocked to sour lake, the birth place of Texaco for what is in the water. That and the home movie theatre in my living room where the movie and popcorn are always free. It is BYOB though. You just cant beat a deal like that...oh by the way the next feature is the 2007 state championship game. The next few features of the following years after that finishing up with this years 7th state championship tournament appearances.

I thought you did, and was just baiting someone in to talk about it. so I thought I would help out. Is that what you heard as well. From what I understand there was a meeting and it was said that anytime HJ played that they would not call thier games. So all of the other schools were going, Hey what did we do.. I think it started out HJ/ Silsbee and somehow or another just ended up being HJ ousted...Who knows...I hope they get it worked out.

I will give you what I heard, any comment on my part is purely off of my recounts of what I heard through the grapevine, and I have not talked to anyone directly. I will try to sum it up shortly. It started at the last regular season game between HJ and Silsbee. The coaches had agreed earlier in the season about who would call the game, agreed and signed off on. Sometime throughout the season one coach or the other apparently had an issue with one or more of the refs that would be calling the game. So one of the coaches asked if they could have one or more ( i don't know if it was more than one) of the refs removed and replaced with someone else. the chapter sent a list to who was available and both coaches couldn't agree on any other combination. So they agreed to go to another officiating group to get the game called. From what I heard this made several members of the chapter very angry and a few said that the chapter would not call any more of the two schools games the following year. From what I heard through the grapevine, the decision was made in haste by a few and not brought to the group(the chapter), so it didn't sit well with some of the members of the chapter, some lost confidence in the leadership and direction of the chapter so they split off. Again most of my accounts of this are from second and third hand information. so take it for what it is worth.

This is the best HJ team I've seen in the last two to three years. I say HJ by 2 TD's

Man they must be the luckiest team ever with all of their district championships, state appearances,State Championships, Regional championships...man they are lucky for sure...

It was a better game than the score showed. Cleveland has a great team and a lot of speed. I was impressed with the defense, they might have scored 35 on us but none of it came easy for them. We will get it together soon, I'm sure. Offense showed some promise as well, they had several other drives that looked promising that stopped just short of field goal range. The Hawks will get better, I know it. If Cleveland can stay away from the injury bug they will do well this year. They have a great rushing attack.

I think they should show the matchup on ESPN, I swear that has been the best highschool games I have ever seen. well maybe ESPN2..... ;D HJ and Silsbee bring out the best compitition in each other, thats for sure.

Hj Will be fine just as they always are, we might not have the one man scoring legend this year, but it will give us a chance to spread the love a little more....Just wait and see, there will be a new look from HJ this year, yes the cats outta the bag. Everybody is going to go "what is this...we have never seen them do that before"..... I cant wait to see the look on yalls faces :o :o. I thought we were in trouble when Josh Williams left, and then in walked CC, when he left I thought we were in trouble again, then in walked Donahoe, when he left again I thought we've had it now, and in walked the highest scorer of them all, Mr. Benard....and thats heavy on the Mr. What rabbitt will they pull out of a hat this year just wait and see.....

Well it sounds like it was a great tournament, I wish I could have been there...I don't care what DV says he is just trying to belittle the tournament so it wont look so bad. Always haten on HJ....I thought another year under your belt you would have matured some. You know they do things exactly by the book. I know it is hard to fathom why they have had so much success, instead of trying to make unethical accusations, ask for help they are nice guy's they will help. NOT your cheating...

Lets put your theory to some academic review aggie, Dont bring any fans to the HJ game and lets see how it turns out....just kidding, I love my friends from silsbee. I think fans matter, but I think the game is for the kids, I'm not sure if it is FOR the coaches too. Not saying it isnt just havent made up my mind yet.

Well lets see the bombing of the marine barracks, the ship that was bombed, the first attack on the world trade center, uh and if that wasn't enough, the last attack and destruction of the world trade center that killed many americans........If i'm not mistaken thats when we went to war, but I'm sure it was like you said greed, But Im sure your opinion was to keep ignoring other people killing our citizens....man, you kill me with your logic sometimes....

Why dont you look at it like this, If you send a kid to Nederland school district, they are getting a quality education for about 5 to 7 dollars an hour. Total annual budget divided by total student hours in class.......I think the school district does just fine.

Lumberton doesn't have the highest taxes...I just looked at about three months ago. The law is written that each house has to be appraised of a minimum of 80% of fair market value. I wish the best for Nederland, I used to live there when I was little....uh ok...young. I haven't read the whole thread, but talked to some people today and they were upset over the Football field and the enormous cost, I'm not sure if many of you know some schools pay almost 100,000. a year for chemicals to treat the feilds. Not to mention the water it takes to water the grass, thats money too. The maint. cost are very high on a grass feild, but are very low with turf. Just wanted to pass that by you all, Good luck Nederland.
