Basketball season is back!!!!  Is there a better way to start the season for two of the premiere teams in SE Texas than having them square off in the first week of the season.  The 3A Hardin-Jefferson Hawks will host the 2A Kountze Lions.  The Lions looked to regain the form that has landed them in the elite of all 2A teams in the State.  Lions are lead by Zay McDaniel and coached by former HJ player Duane Joubert.  The Hawks who return three starters from last years team who lost in the Regional Final are led by Garrett Gustafson, Greyson Sutherland and Shawn Prudhome.  HJ is coach by Todd Sutherland.  Should make for an interesting game!!! Game Friday night will be broadcast live right here.  Game starts at 7pm and the Rob and Robb Pregame Show will begin at 6:45.

BigRed360..........I am over the past issues!!!  And if you read I was VERY PLEASED with what I saw on the floor Friday night.  I also understand that it was against LYON COLLEGE who is terrible.  I am looking long term and against the competition that they will face in conference and realize that we cannot score in the half court offense very effectively and dont rebound well.  Lyon was smaller than us and we only won the rebounding contest on shear athletic ability.  That wont happen against Nichols, Sam, NW State, SFA, etc. Again, loved what I saw......just being realistic for conference and against better teams that we play in non-conference!!!!

[/quote] Ball in the endzone on a kickoff is a dead ball in college.  I saw it happen three times last night on games on TV. I have always questioned televising a home game.  Why not go out of town and broadcast it back to BMT area.  Also with the weather being in question last night more people stayed home. Read somewhere where the crowd was 15,000......looked about like 8,000 maybe!!!  Between being cold and possible rain in the forecast and the fact that it was on TV that everyone stayed home and watched it!!!  I know that the 15,000 included season ticket holders.

They won........give it a rest Raiders!!!!!  Nobody and I mean nobody thought that LU would have a chance to be .500 the first year back!!!  With a win next week it will happen!!! You sure have sour grapes about LU, what is your beef with the football program???  Did you try out and not make it or something???

[/quote] Bruce I am drinking the Kool-Aid right now as well.............Davis, Lamb, Brazier are better than anyone we put on the floor last year.  Also I hear that James is better than all of them!!!!  I am drunk on the Kool-Aid right now.  Not sure LU has what it takes to make it to the NCAA but making a run in the SLC Tourney is gonna happen.  This may be the most talent Roc has ever brought in........if he can't win this year then it is time to get someone who can win!!!!!!

Lamar needs to address the rebounding issue and half court offense ability!!!!!  On the run they look great and score very well.  Anyone who tries to make LU slow it down and pound it down low on LU will have a field day!!!!!
