Just want to say thank you to all of the coaches and parents who made us feel very welcome at the VYBL this past weekend.  I know we only played two days but it was great.  Field was great, concessions were great, parking was easy and the live commentary really made the kids feel like they were in the big leagues!!!!!  I sure am looking forward to the All Star tournament on 4th of July weekend.  I know that Clint will be doing play by play for the entire tournament!!!!  Thanks again and look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks!!!!

I know they moved weekends, but not sure where to.....use to be same weekend as HJ tourney but they moved it from that weekend!!!!

Possibly have to use two sites or two fields at one site for pool play and even the quarterfinals........ Each team play two games on Saturday and one on Sunday and those games would be for seeding purposes..... Monday night would be the quarterfinals and if you use two fields you could have games at 6 and 730........ Tuesday night would be the semis and you would use one field with games at 6 and 730......... Wednesday night would be the Championship with one game at 7pm....... With the all star tourney this year being in Vidor do they have two field that could be used????

Any truth to the rumor that the All Star tournament will take on a new flavor this year and go to a round robin/ pool play format???  Something along the lines of guaranteeing each team a minimum of 4 games.........3 round robin/pool play games for seeding and then a single elimination tourney???  I think that this would be a GREAT change to the existing double elimination format!!!!  Based on last year in the Pinto Division we had 8 teams in the all star tourney.....two from Vidor, two from Orange, two from Twin County and one each from Groves and Port Arthur.  What are others thoughts???

Great job today Vidor Astros..........you have a very good team!!!!  Good luck the rest of the tourney and we look forward to seeing some of those kids at the all star tourney in a about two months!!!!!

The cream has risen to the top..........everyone around the Golden Triangle knew that Vidor was gonna be represented well in this tourney.....but who knew that every team left would be from Vidor.  Looks as if Orange, Groves, Port Arthur and Twin County have their hands full for the All Star tourney in July!!!!

[/quote] Yes Piratefan, that was my son Colin who hit the walk off home run for the TC River Bandits.........I was the idiot who was coaching first base and actually beat my son to 3rd base as I cut across the field after giving him a high five at first base!!!!!  If you are out there tomorrow come introduce yourself.....I am easy to find.........fat, bald head coach from TC and coaching first base!!! :D :D :D

Thanks daddy23............Colin could hardly go to sleep last night.  And you can see that I am up at 4am!!!  I fell asleep about 11 and now have been up since 330am.  Not sure why!!! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks texcoug...........I am a proud coach for the Bandits never giving up after falling behind 8-2 and I am a even more proud dad after seeing Colin hit his first ever walk off home run!!!!!!  What a game.....hopefully Colin and I will come down off of cloud nine before the game tomorrow against the Vidor Astros!!!

HJ will have their hands full again with Silsbee, WOS and Bridge City likely being the playoff teams.  OF and HF will be other tough games for the Hawks.  Never under estimate Coach Martel and the Hawks though.....they have been known surprise a few people over the years!!!!!!!!

Just heard that the Vidor Cubs took out the Orange Yankees..............Great job to you and your kids daddy23!!!!!!

Big Duke is the TC Storm....not the Scrappers!!!!  Scrappers are in 7th out of 7 teams at TC!!!!!!  Just FYI!!!!
