Last season as a assistant coach our team went 19-3 and we "HAD" to shuffle our players around. They could only play 2 innings at the same position and only could play 4 innings in the infield. These kids are getting older and getting closer to playing "real baseball" now. T-Ball was great and fun but to me it brought most of them at least offensively onto a level playing field. Defensively is where we won our games last year. I agree 100% that the kids may not play ball in 5 years or so down the road, but that is our job to make it fun for them so they will want to play in 5 years. For example on playing different positions...............last year our all-star team was comprised of players who really only played infield in the regular season and now that all-stars being played you had kids that had to play in the outfield.....It was interesting to see the kids in the outfield who had never played it before except for one inning a game. I appreciate what you are saying NHS and best of luck to your kids at Nederland.

Actually I am not the best at everything on this board........but I appreciate the compliment!!!! ;) ;) I had a hard time accepting Tiger as the best in the world and of all time but reality just finally set in. Look at what he has done with a bad knee and other things that have not gone the way that one would want (IE death of his father). He won the US OPEN by 12 shots, Masters by 12 shots and is only I think 4 majors behind Jack and he is only 34!!!!!!! He will end up with 20+ majors by the time that he is 40!!!!!! We will just have to agree to disagree on this one...........and you know that I am not one for giving in!!! :D

Well let me see.................my uncle has played against every player that you just listed!!!!!!!! Some for more years than others, but he said without hesitation that Tiger is the greatest of all time and that had Tiger been around in Jack's time that the results would be no different...........Tiger winning the majority of time. He also said that had Jack been around in Tiger's time with better equipment that Jack would be a better ball striker but no be able to keep Tiger from winning all that he has. I am the best golfer in this message board!!!!!!!!! Well except for maybe Spinks!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

DV I guess that the coaching staff you have is better than the one at LU also???? As much as I am not a big believer in the LU staff right now I know that they are head and shoulders better than the staff at LSC-PA!!!!!!! If you are so confident in your team and your league then call Tubbs and schedule for the exhibition next season..................LSC-PA Seahawks vs. Lamar Cardinals!!!!!!!! I will take the Cards by more than a few.........30 to be exact!!!!!

Just another local player that Roc is trying to get. Not sure if he is the answer though. Hope so............maybe DickVitale can give us some insight on this player since his team played them just a few weeks ago.

I respect your post..........however I will teach them about the basics of the game, but also about winning and losing. I am totally against just playing just to play. Kids that are 7-8 need to know the difference between winning and losing. I am sure that we will do plenty of both this year. ;D ;D

We play PONY so we have 4 outfielders. I have this one kid in LCF right now but he has nothing out there with him. :( How important is the catcher in your opinion. I have a kid that can play in the OF but he is better than average at catcher. I just would not have anyone to put at catcher. I feel based on looking at the other teams that my infield is as strong as any if not better. I just feel inferior in the OF with what I have and was undecided on loading up the infield or trying to balance it out.

This is my first year to be the head coach in coach pitch. I have been a assistant for a few years in tee ball. The main question that I have is about setting your players defensively. We have 7 players that I feel are going to be great, good or better than average. Would you load your infield up or put a few decent players in the outfield. Right now my weak spots are LF, RF and RCF. I feel if I load my infield up then I will only have one better than average player in the outfield although he is our fastest player. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I think it has been said many times that either Benard or Robinson were good choices for MVP, as long as the other got Offensvie MVP. I think that it looks good all the way around. Travis is a good coach and deserved it.

Everyone knows that I am a HJ guy but how is Kwame Spikes and Trey Burrell not on this team???????

Uhhhh...lets see. OZEN..10 straight district titles (only losing 3 times in district in 10 years) 4 state FINALS appearances and a championship in 10 years of existence in 4A versus....HJ....4 state APPEARANCES, 3 titles in 3A in more than 75 years of existence......I would say that its not even close. won state in 01, state finalists in 02, 03, and 07. lost in the reg. semis last year. I was in no way comparing Ozen to HJ!!!!!!!!! I was just saying that I do not think that Ozen is one of the elite teams in 4A anymore. They will be back, but when?????

I doubt that they have Top 5 Rankings nationally for powerlifting.............although if they do then I would assume that Mark Henry would be in it. : : :
