Too early to call!!!!!! This season is not even over yet!!!!!!!! And the new coach at Ozen will make a difference.

Spears was not even as athletic as Donahoe, Burrell, Turner or even Benard from HJ currently. But atheltic is not the only thing that college coaches are looking for also!!!!!!

Should be interesting to see who applies as well as who they interview and hire!!!!!

Who knows the reasoning............but let's start to talk about who will apply and who realistically will be in the running. I think that Travis Williams will apply and be seriously considered for it. I think that Duane Joubert will apply and will be seriously considered for it as well. Anyone else from this area?????? Any names from outside of the area that should be considered???? Dove, DV..........give us some insight!!!

Listen Kenyon is a good friend of mine that I talk with very often and he is a great athlete but he was not a big D1 material player!!!!!!! Frank is likely a better athlete also!!!!!

There is a difference in 5A, 4A and 3A................only great players from 3A make it to a good college. I remember just two years a ago a great 3A player from HJ was offered several D1 Scholarships and the HJ coaching staff bent over backwards and jumped through hoops to get him those offers and with the paperwork on the table and in front of him on signing day he chose not to sign because his AAU coach told him he could get him a better scholarship offer from a bigger school. Now that player has been seen at HJ games in the last three weeks and throughout the year instead of playing hoops himself!!!!!!!! There have been several players to go play college basketball from HJ. I will list a few for you: Kenyon Spears - Lamar Gene Isabell - Sam Houston Shannon Holmes - Houston Baptist Jeff Burke - Houston Baptist Jamey Harrison - Navarro Joel Nolte - McMurray Big Woo Durley- Some college in Dallas Trey Watts - McMurray Mark Holmes - McNeese State

Are you implying that the HJ coaching staff does not work with college coaches to get their kids into college???

You just make it sound as if HJ did not play hard in the 3rd place game!!!!!!!! I can assure you that HJ wanted to take the easy route just as Silsbee did...........the difference was that HJ did not look over anyone. They took it one game at a time and prepared for each team individually!!!!!!! By taking it one game at a time allowed them to realize the importance of each game!!!!!!!! I can assure you that HJ had the toughest road to state in 3A!!!!!!! They have proven that they can beat anyone in this area on any given day. Will they win it all???? Nobody can tell, but all they can do is prepare for Estacado and nobody else right now. If they win that then Friday they will prepare for either Madison or Stafford. Lay it all on the line and give it 110% and if you lose..........then the other team was just better!!!!!

Going from Silsbee to Central is at best a lateral move and likely a regression IMO!!!!!!!
