If Silsbee had won against Jasper and then beat HJ then Silsbee would have been the best team in the Silsbee people's eyes, but since Jasper beat Silsbee and then HJ beat Jasper the Silsbee people feel the best team did not win Regionals!!!!! *****Please note that this is not directed at all Silsbee people. Some people realize that HJ earned it and that the best team won Regionals!!!!!

The disapproving of HJ has once again begun. It happened two years ago......"3A was weak in 2007"!!!! Look at the Final Four this year in 3A......#1, #2, #5 and #11.........no other classification has 4 teams that are that highly ranked. Also HJ knocked out the #7, #8, #20 and the team that knocked out the #9 ranked team in the State!!!!!! Region 3 was loaded and Hj survived it all!!!!! Now they get to face the #2 ranked team in the state and a team that this year was their first year in 3A after dropping from 4A and making it to the Regional Tournament the last two seasons in 4A!!!!!! If they are fortunate to get by them then they get to play the #1 or #5 ranked team in the state. So if they do win it all it will likely be the toughest stretch of 7 games possibly ever in the playoffs knocking off the #1, #2, #5, #7, #8, #20 and the team that beat the #9 team!!!!!! Based on what I have heard is that Estacado is going to be very good and the Hawks will be a significant underdog. Hawks have been a underdog all season in the eyes of many hoop fans.......they have over come it and they can over come it again!!!!!!!

Coach Roc is fine......he has been here three years. Yes they had a down year but they also won the Conference last year. Do not be so quick to judge someone. If after season 5 the LU team is still struggling then we can question him!!!!

HJ HAS BEEN LUCKY. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE TALENT TO GO ALL THE WAY Matt, Seriously I hope you are joking!!!!! They did what everyone said that they could not do......beat Navasota, Cleveland, Hudson and then Jasper who beat your beloved Tigers. Will they win state??? Maybe, maybe not!!!! But to say that they have been lucky is being a sore loser on your part!!!!

To all of those who doubted HJ this season whether it was the fact that they had no depth, they were too young, only three good players, 4 losses at home, lost to Nederland, lost to Kingwood Park, lost to Central, lost to Silsbee twice, weren't battle tested and would not make it through Liberty, Navasota, Cleveland, Hudson and then Jasper. Need I remind each and every person that every Hawk loss this year came to a team that made the playoffs in their respective districts!!!! This group of kids has more heart, desire, discipline and puts forth more effort than any other HJ team that I have ever seen!!!!! The job that Todd, Clay and Jeff did this year proves that they are the best coaching staff in SE Texas........bar none!!!!! The Hawks once again will have doubters since they did not get to face Silsbee in the playoffs, but I look at it this way.........HJ beat the team that beat Silsbee by 9 points tonight and Jarvis Benard proved that he is the best player and should be the MVP of district 21-3A!!!!! HJ will have their hands full in Austin, but they have had their hands full since the hoop season started back in the late fall!!!!! I applaud Coach Sutherland, his staff and his players for making this one of the best season's to be a Hawk fan. You can't win them all, but they seem to win the one's that matter the most up to this point. I will be pulling for you guy's in Austin this week. Take the momentum and continue to get the job done Hawks!!!! Congrats on being Regional Champs for the 7th time in school history after everyone doubted you and best of luck in Austin!!!!
