would you want your varsity team playing a jv team because you know you cant compete with their varsity? wow you just dont listen...i said play up for more competition to get your kids ready for the next level i never said play down your just arguing for argument sake. and your absolutely right silsbees jv would beat both of those teams. i think westrbooks freshmen could give hf a game. on a side note i really would like to see silsbee and st thomas jv play each other it would be a great game I doubt that!!!!!! There is not an JV squads that can compete with Silsbee in the area or even the Houston area. HJ has played St. Thomas the last two seasons and lost at St. Thomas 2 years ago by 15 and lost to them at HJ last season by about 7. Their JV was good but the HJ JV beat them last season.

I am calling Coach Sutherland and Coach Williams in the morning and telling them they need to think about other peoples feelings instead of pursuing their quest for a title and winning the games laid in front of them. I will also tell them to hold the ball each quarter for one shot and that way they will only win by a few points.

Because it is high school basketball and that is the point that is lost in this whole point that it is not the nba it is not the coaches job to beat teams by as many as possible. Yes it is important to win games but part of a coaches job to not only make his kids better basketball players but better human beings. That is where character and humility come into play. I can assure you that from a HJ fan and supporter of HJ that Coach Sutherland has never purposely ran the score up!!!!!!! He is always quick to put his reserves in when the game is well in hand. I have seen other teams including Silsbee do the same. The problem is that alot of bench players on some teams is that they are just better than the kids from the other teams that they are playing. I have an idea. Friday night when HJ has the game in control maybe Coach Sutherland will tell his players to not shoot, make 15 passes per possession, not to rebound, not to block out and just go stand in the corner and let the other team try to get back in the game......how does that sound??? : : : :

If you don't like then don't go watch it. They are playing for the ultimate prize at the end of the season. They play who is on the schedule and play til the end of the clock. If you win by 100 then so be it!!!!!! If you lose by 100 then you better start improving!!!!!!!

I am only going to say it this one time and then I will be done with it: TAMCC...... Better players Better athletes Bigger players Better recruiting Better team Better coaching At this point with all of the injuries LU will be lucky to make the tournament and if they do it will be one and done. I have changed my tune and I am picking TAMCC to win the regular season and the conference tourney and with the schedule that they have played will likely be a 14 seed and will give the team they play a run for their money. I am not complaining about the fouls that were called........I am frustrated with several games this season.....wins and losses for the Hawks......of the times that they call ticky tack fouls and let the obvious fouls go uncalled. That is what is bad for all involved. They let you get knocked to the ground and do not call it and then the next trip down the floor and the ball handler is not even touched and they call a foul. It was a fairly called game last night no doubt!!!!!! I also with HJ would prefer a game when they let you play, that only helps out HJ!!!!!!!

I saw Caldwell play a few years ago in the playoffs and they had a stud that went to A&M. Not sure if he is still at A&M or not and that team was pretty good. I believe that they played Jasper in the playoffs that year. What district is Caldwell in? And were are they expected to finish in district?

My son and I are going and I estimate the crowd to be around 3,000. The reason for the crowd is 2 reasons: 1. Wednesday night (church goers) 2. LU has lost two games in a row. The band wagoner fans will not show after 2 losses in a row.
