I watched the OF/Navasota game and I can promise you that the Hawks will NOT win by 23 Whizzie!!!!!

The OF fans would have given the Hecklers a run for their money last night. It was almost as if the Hecklers dressed in all orange and doubled in size. HJ needs to do the same....more students, more noise and to be even more relentless. Navasota can be rattled...no pun intended!!!!! ;D Every Heckler needs to be in there and bring someone new with you. The gym is huge and the more will only benefit the Hawks. I expect at least 200 Hecklers on Tuesday night.

In some eye's he is numero uno. He should be proud of the accomplishments of his team this year and they will be rewarded for it for years to come.

Gained alot of respect for Coach Ray tonight. He had his team very prepared tonight and they fought hard until the end. This guy is a great coach and he will only get better. Great job this season and only better things will come. OF has alot to be proud about and things will only get better for this program in the future.

Orangefield should be very proud of their team. These guys could not catch a break tonight and they were still in it til the end. I was very pleased watching this game. Really makes you appreciate the basics of basketball. Great season and a job well done. Be proud Bobcats you earned it!!!!!!!!

Went and saw the Navasota/ OF game tonight and they are similar to Silsbee.........Very Athletic, Quick and have a big man that if he gets it on the block he will score. My only two predictions at this point is that the team that wins the rebounding war will win the game and I guarantee that this game will de decided by less than 10 points either way. What more can you ask for in a playoff game.....#4 Navasota vs. #6 HJ!!!!!!!

Most likely Tuesday night against OF or Navasota. IF they play OF likely in Golden Triangle somewhere. IF they play Navasota likely in The Woodlands like last year.

I am going to go and watch the 3rd best coach in the district 21-3A tonight. ;D SHould be a great game between OF/Navasota!!!!

No Doubt.........#4 from Sweeny could fill it up as long as he was set.....when he was ont he move he could not hit the broad side of the barn. I believe he was the coaches son.

Just another night at the office for Jarvis..........34 Points!!!!!! Hawks overcame poor shooting and hot shooting from Sweeny in the 1st and 2nd quarters. Jarvis found his touch and just kept pouring it in. It is nice to say when you win by 13 that the refs were terrible and did everything they could to keep Sweeny in the game. Only a two man crew for a playoff game...found that very odd. Well basically a one man crew (two halfs)!!!!!!! Great win for the Hawks and now they can rest and get ready for the winner of the OF/ Navasota game. I give alot of credit to the coaching staff and players from Sweeny...they were class acts and had very good sportsmanship!!! Congrats on a great season Bulldogs!!!!

Not that Coach Sutherland needs any help to win this honor but he did play FOUR district games with a COMPLETE starting line-up and team. They were missing at least one starter for ELEVEN district games and missing two starters for two of those ELEVEN games.

I agree with both of yall. Silsbee did graduated majority of their team and only had 1 experienced player and two player that came off the bench some last year. Travis is a good coach but like some says Brooks did most of the coaching this year. But we will not tell why he did. So Williams for coach of the year MVP-Benard and Robinson both Co-district champ so they should be Co-MVP Offensive-Bailey he did put up alot of point this year in district Defensive-Walter of Silsbee was a h*** of a defensive rebounder and got some decent steals this year Newcomer-Howard of Silsbee played like a MVP of this district Freshman-never heard of this award but only freshman I know is Stallworth of Silsbee It is very obvious that you are from Silsbee...... Benard will win MVP....he averaged 28 PPG on the team that won the district

The only people that think that the Coach of the Year award is BS is the people that did not win or your team did not win. No Coach Sutherland has earned the right not to have to coach other sports. Ray will earn the same one day. HJ only has two basketball players who played football....it is a huge advantage also. Silsbee has the best athletes in the district but they did not win the district outright. WOS won the district in football and has the best athletes in football and did not even make the playoffs in basketball....so your statement is wrong about athletes. OF has alot of what HJ has and it will win you more games than athletes anyday and that is basketball players!!!!! I would take a basketball player over an athlete anyday!!!!! Switzer is a hall of famer........NOT!!!!! ;D

OF went 0-4 (do you want a pat on he back for being competetive?) against HJ and Silsbee!!!!! Hey lets give Coach of the Year to the coach that went 0-4 against the Co-District Champs!!!!! I said it once and I will say it again. I knew Ray when he was an assistant at LCM to Jeff Burke (Ex-Hawk BTW) and he is a great coach and a even better guy. He did a great job but he lost to the big dogs (yet 2 out of the 4 games were close) and beat up on all of the little puppies. Congrats on making the playoffs and winning a playoff game against Coldspring but I doubt that there will be any post season awards for the OF coaching staff!!! Here is my opinion on awards for the district. I likely will miss a few....... Coach of the Year--Todd Sutherland MVP--Jarvis Benard Offensive--Shannon Robinson (Only because Jarvis cannot win both) Defensive--Not Sure Newcomer--DK Howard Freshman--Not Sure

I spoke with the principal today and The Hecklers have too many conflicts for Saturdays game. They have a baseball game, hopefully the girls basketball regional final game and another school function on Saturday. Maybe we can try for the final home game of the year against Nichols State. I agree 100% that HJ and Silsbee have more to work with. Both have good coaching staffs. OF has a good coach to, but to give him coach of the year for finishing third in a district that other than the 3 teams that made the playoffs is relatively weak. Great job for OF and Coach Wrinkle but I just don't agree that a 3rd place team should have their coach win Coach of the Year for the district. Who did they beat in the regular season that they were not suppose to beat besides Jasper? No one!!!!!
