Aggiesarewe you could not get the gig to do the HJ/Silsbee game. You missed a great one!!!!!

Congrats to both teams on a hard fought game. Wish that HJ/Silsbee was not on the same night.

What a incredible atmosphere tonight!!!!!!!! Gym was full by the 2nd quarter of the JV game (Oh by the way Silsbee led 20-5 and HJ came back to win). Burrell had two huge dunks and missed what would have been the best dunk I have ever seen in high school. I have said this for quite some time now and tonight completely backs my theory!!! 1......HJ has a huge coaching edge. 2......HJ has better "basketball players". 3......Silsbee has better athletes as a whole. Coaching and "basketball players" win games not athletes!!! Can't wait to go to Silsbee in a few weeks!!!

St Thomas is very good. They have a 6'7 275 pound center that has signed to play at SHSU. THey have another 6'4 guard who is being looked at by several big schools as well. The big kid is very solid and likes to play with his abck to the basket. HJ was down by 7 and clawed their way back and took the lead with about 2 to go. Too many bad shots late really hurt the Hawks..... HJ is finally glad that their are no more games in between them and their rival Silsbee....better get their early Friday!!!!!

Tremain Thomas is IMO the best that SE Texas has.....he is a beast!!!

Every school has a home court advantage when it comes to officials. You should always get more calls at home. I was not saying that!!!!!!! I was simply stating that HJ was getting called for fouls on the same thing that EC was doing and they were not calling it on EC.

Oldtimer you are confused if you think that it was fairly called game. If EC drove then a foul was called almost every time. If HJ drove then it was a clean block or just a no call. I said last night that HJ lost it because of TO's and missed FT's....I still believe that!!!! BUt to say it was a called very well is absolutely ridiculous!!!! 39 attempts to 9. Even had HJ hit the front end of those 6 they still sould have had only 15 attempts. In my opinion Thomas is the best player in SE Texas!!! But he has the "Jordan Rules"....he never gets anything called on him. I will once again say that the team that wanted it more and executed better last night won the game. The officials DID NOT lose the game for the Hawks!!!

It is obvious that I am a huge HJ fan and they lost the game themselves tonight. Too many TO's, missed FT's, etc. EC had a great game plan and executed it well. On the other hand it is sad when a EC fan comes up to me after the game and said that HJ got the raw end of the deal on fouls. BTW HJ 3 out of 9 from the line. EC 23 out of 39 from the line. Nevertheless great win for EC and yes they have a great group of kids, coach and fans. Best of luck this year.

HJ starters left half way thru the 3rd. This is one of the best games that HJ has played all year that I have seen.

No and HJ did not really have it together tonight. Brazos is not very good. They would finish middle of the pack in the HJ district.

Two spots???? HJ has the top and I am assuming that Silsbee has the second....that would only leave 1 spot unless the UIL expaned the districts to 4 playoff spots!!!! That maybe what it would take for WOS to make the playoffs....4 spots!!!!

This is exactly the reason that Brown will NOT ever play for UT. His attitude sucks!!!!! He is a great player, but he brings too much baggage along with his game. So much that a big time university will not put up with his juvenile antics.

HJ lost to Lufkin Hudson 74-58 in Lufkin tonight. I would rather see a loss now then after district starts. 4 HJ players fouled out and HJ cut the lead to 7 and some how managed to pick up 2 technicals that sealed their fate. HJ knew it was a tough place to play and they found out for sure. Tough night but they will rebound strong!!!

Yes lets look at the teams that they have played........ HJ-----#1 AAA Chapel Hill, PreSeason Top 10 AA EC (twice), #4 AA Hempstead, LCM, WOS, and another decent team or two in the Huntington tourney. Silsbee-----Kountze, Ozen, EC (two of which where loses!!!!! You can hardley compare the records at this point. Besides Silsbee beat O'Field by one point this week!!!! Silsbee may give HJ a run this year as they did last year, but I think that the leadership, confidence and once again coaching is on the HJ side!!!!!!

HJ was incomplete control of this game......EC is much improved from earlier with the big kid back. EC can't play with HJ....bottom line!!!!!! One thing and one thing only kept this game close....well maybe three things....the refs!!!!!! 14 fouls to 8 in the first half and it was 14-3 at one time!!!! Tremain Thomas is a stud...no doubt about that!!! Not only did HJ survive the EC Bucs they survived the 3 headed Zebra tonight!!!! I will make one guarantee right now though.........EC will win their district outright this year!!!!!!

Who are the two Semi Final matches and what time tomorrow?? I know that HJ and EC won.....what about the other two games?

Heard this was a great game!!!!!! Glad that HJ pulled it out in a very tough enviroment!!!!
