  1. While I do like A&M's chances - I think Bama wins the coaching qualification battle.
  2. Sorry I have to respond when I feel the need - so I can honestly say that I would have a very hard time not responding on a thread where a post interests me - I just have to respond. Just who I am.
  3. So you read the threads just don't "post" on them - interesting! For me it is just as simple, one Texas team keep trying to impose its will on other Texas teams and conferences and well 4 teams decided to split - Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri and Texas A&M quite frankly had enough and said adios. Texas A&M from what I know and hear from almost every Aggie I know have been very happy with the split and would not go back - well for almost anything. The fact that Texas has struggled on and off the field since A&M's departure is - well - just added a sugar coating to the transition. I used to root for Texas up until a few years ago and well just stopped. Now I root for 4 teams every weekend - Texas A&M, Texas Tech and anyone that plays the Dallas Cowboys. I have not become anti-Texas yet - but I feel that day is on the horizon - but really do not care whether they win or lose at this time. I actually hope that A&M stays on the upward trend and that Texas returns to the Texas of old and that the two teams play each other every year - was fun win or lose to have the ability to talk current events and not "ancient" history. I can take a butt kicking just not the constant bickering of the "well if we played no matter how bad (or good) we are we would kick your butt cause we are ________ put your choice here)."
  4. I am not normally a LSU fan - been to 3 games at LSU Tiger Stadium and have not received a "hearty welcome" any of those trips and once even had a confrontation with some obnoxious fans. But the more I hear what LSU, LSU students and the City of Baton Rouge did to make SC feel at home for this game - Well I have to give Cajun kudos all the way around. Geaux Tigers (at least once).
  5. Ok - what happened to the LET"S ALL ROOT FOR THE TEXAS teams????? I guess that only goes in the Horns direction as well.
  6. I predict a closer game than last years.
  7. On the Coach Strong note and him celebrating after the recent big Texas win (and it was big for the Texas 2015 season) - was this not the same crowd that ridiculed Sumlin for the locker room celebration video after a big Texas A&M win? Kinda hypocritical don't you think?
  8. #10 Alabama(-4.5) at #9 Texas A&M #18 UCLA at #15 Stanford(-4.5) #17 Iowa(-3) at #20 Northwestern West Virginia at #2 Baylor(-21) #13 Ole Miss(-8) at Memphis #7 Michigan St at #12 Michigan(-7.5) #8 Florida at #6 LSU(-7.5) USC at #14 Notre Dame(-2) Penn St at #1 Ohio State(-21) Arizona St at #4 Utah(-7) Lamar at Nw St La
  9. I personally think that Chip Kelly would be a major mistake at Texas - he is arrogant with the baggage he has had in the NFL regarding minority players basically stating he got rid of them because of their race (fact or not would be an anti-recruiting tool for every other team) would be another major hurdle that he would have to jump to be competitive in the college ranks. Just think would not be a good fit for Texas.
  10. Hey I am an old poster - I care
  11. Sorry do not see Tom Herman having the resume so make the big time jump to Texas.
  12. Could be an interesting game as I think that OU's defense be likely better than TCU's and the Offense will be much more ball control oriented - If Texas cannot get up for this game the season just may be over - my Prediction: 13 - Texas 37 - OU
  13. That Strong backing for Strong - that just sounded funny - will last only if he can make big strides the rest of the year. If he has other blow outs to the likes of Oklahoma, WVU and Texas Tech - then who knows. If he can pull a win or two he just bought some forgiveness. If he does not win all three against K State, Iowa State and Kansas - his head may be on the chopping block sooner than anyone is expecting! If he does stay and the season continues on this slippery slope - the biggest question is how will it affect recruiting - if that dries up as well then he is all but toast.
  14. Damn - now it is all coming together and making sense - lol.
  15. Maybe if you can score more than 7 next year vs TCU Sunshine pumping was becoming a cottage industry at Texas.
  16. Baddog you are so right we cannot take those glory days of Texas football away - and you need to enjoy them and I hope you have the games on DVR so you can watch them because the reality of what Texas football is today is - Well - just not quite on the same level of those 60's teams. Enjoy those memories man.
  17. Sorry no loss by 43 points can be considered anything but an old fashioned ass-kicking. Texas should not take anything out of that loss as a positive. Your snide remark I assume was directed at several close games (Texas and TCU was NOT close) played by the Aggie's against ranked teams and lost = good try but right now I hope that Texas has a good 2016.
  18. Good night for the Aggie's = Win and Arizona State beat the No. 7 team which makes that win a little more impressive and Arkansas beat a pretty good Tennessee Team. Good Night all around.
  19. You see this is the issue - we can relate - that is the reason that we kinda like the shoe being on the other foot!
  20. I am really not trying to be a smartass but when was the last time Texas got beat 50-0? I cannot remember a loss that lopsided ever for Texas.
  21. Ouch that last TD right before the half really hurt - Texas should'a scored and then gave up the big quick drive - 10 to 14 point turnaround = damnnnnnnn!
  22. Texas special teams are really a problem.
  23. smh - really thought Texas would at least give them a game - hell I picked this as the upset of the week.
  24. This game keeps this direction - I tend to agree with you.
  25. Guess we are going to see what the Strong lead Horns have and see if they can keep composure - 23-0 - first quarter.
