  1. Really had not paid attention to the Asst. coaches at A&M but looked Stansbury up and you are right pretty good resume - hope he helps.
  2. See you learn things every day - I just did - I knew last year was tough for Texas at home but really thought that previous years Texas would still have been favored most times 10-14 at home since 2010 -is that right - just kinda surprises me.
  3. Horn football fans not posting much since the ND game - maybe if they beat Cal they will return - there I mentioned Cal..... About the game - Cal has not played anyone really but has averaged 54 points a game while holding the other teams to 10.5 per game so far this year. Defense - Cal is ranked 43rd giving up 311 yards a game and Texas ranked 114th giving up 495 yard a game Offense - Cal is ranked 13th averaging 570+ yards a game while Texas is ranked 126th averaging 220 yards a game So on paper does not look good for the Horns - and how many times in recent history has Texas not been favored at home? - I do not know but my guess is quite a while. I think Cal wins unless Texas offense really cranks it up a notch this week. I think the home field also helps the Horns - in a close game - My Prediction: California - 31 Texas - 30
  4. A&M does not have a proven recruiting history for the long term and quite frankly no proven head coach - both will have to improve for A&M basketball to make a list like this one - but I am hopeful.
  5. Man imagine what ticket prices at DKR Stadium will be if Texas manages 7 wins this year?
  6. Trust me on this - almost all Aggie's agree - we like he divorce! Enjoy the LHN.
  7. Easily between the loss of sack yardage and several long runs by QB. Wait - Wait - Wait - is that not the same as "That's Aggie logic for you. Act like half the game didn't happen. Nice theory." - as one Texas poster stated to me when I stated that you take our 4 plays on Texas O and you would have an even game. Dang - sorry I forgot that I was a little critical of Texas so = WRONG on all counts while this comment was positive for Texas so = can not be disputed.
  8. LOL - you sure he might be able to obtain world peace!
  9. A&M didn't want any - So say Texas fans - not the truth but keep on believing what your Orangebloods posters keep repeating. Again, it was YOUR AD (Dodds I believe) that started the post A&M / Texas years stating that they will only play A&M when "they (Texas) decide when we play again. That's only fair." While you now most recent ex-AD would rather play in Mexico or Dubai than schedule a game in Texas with Texas A&M - also stated "new AD Steve Patterson who said UT needs a “compelling reason” to play the Aggies." So keep repeating that story line that somehow someway Texas A&M is still running scared of the Texas Horns - maybe you can keep on convincing yourselves.
  10. Best Statement in that article was: "Texas was so busy counting the money from its new television network and playing realignment bully that it completely neglected the reason it had earned its position of power in the first place. Texas was too big to fail, until it kept on failing." While I continue to wonder at the lack of respect that many Texas ex's give Mack Brown - would have to agree that Oliver Luck - from what I know and remember - is a class person and may be what Texas needs at the moment.
  11. I think that they would have a hard time firing him for cause as "Termination for cause can only occur for actions that an employer considers to be grave misconduct or violation of law." Think that Texas might just lose this case in court - while I think that some of what Patterson did was stupid and not in the best interest of the university - was it illegal or grave misconduct - questionable! Good news for Texas however is that they have the best lawyers in the State on their side.
  12. And me saying "Texas still has a ways to go to be a factor in the Big 12 standings in my opinion." was somehow implying that Texas was hiding under someones skirt - Texas has a young team that should improve we will just have to see if it does in time.
  13. Man Texas supporters are defensive right about now ain't they: That's Aggie logic for you. Act like half the game didn't happen. Nice theory. If you had read the post I stated that you had to give Texas credit for the special teams play - just saying Texas better improve on O and D every game this year or well who knows - I was not bashing Texas like - well ya'll do A&M all the time. As Bulldogbacker stated - Good Luck in the Big 12
  14. Would love to see Texas Tech beat Arkansas - but do not see that happening as I think there will be a lot of mad wild Hogs loose this weekend
  15. #18 Auburn at #13 LSU(-7.5) #14 Georgia Tech(-2) at #8 Notre Dame #15 Ole Miss at #2 Alabama(-6) #19 BYU at #10 UCLA(-10.5) #9 Florida State(-7.5) at Boston College Upset special? Nebraska at Miami(-3.5) Texas Tech at Arkansas(-11.5) Florida(-2.5) at Kentucky California(-7) at Texas Nevada at #17 Texas A&M(-34)
  16. I do think that Texas could do worse that having Mack Brown as AD. I was a Mack Brown fan even when they fired him as I think they gave him bum rap when they fired him in the first place (even though several posters on this site disagree with me). But the best part would be the irony of Mack replacing the man that fired him - gotta love UT if they allow that to happen.
  17. The offensive production was very good considering only running 38 plays. The problem was with rice's ol controlling Horns dl. Take out the fumble return for a TD and the punt return for a TD (and another punt return deep into Rice territory) you have a 28 - 28 tie against Rice - a big part of this Texas win is on the back of its special teams. I know I know it takes all 3 parts of the team to win - Offense, Defense and Special Teams. Can Texas count on 2 - 3 TD's either scored by special teams or set up by special teams every week - kinda doubtful. So while it was a decent win for the Horns I did not see a overwhelming offense and the defense was really below average against Rice (462 yards). Texas still has a ways to go to be a factor in the Big 12 standings in my opinion.
  18. The way Baylor has played so far = they are seriously overrated. I agree Lamar should be proud of the way they hung with a supposed top 5 team.
  19. You might be right - but I still have my doubts: While Heard's rushing appears to have been much much better than Swoopes they still had no passing game - the better teams will be hard to be one dimensional against. Not sure Texas will win many games against the better foes of the Big 12 going 5 of 10 passing. Also the fact that Texas was out gained 462 yards (Rice) to 277 would have me concerned. Texas benefited from 3 Rice turnovers and took care of the ball themselves which I think was a big factor.
  20. Heard was better than Swoopes I will give you that - but could the level of opponent have maybe something to do with that fact. Heard having a "good game" against Rice does not mean that the Texas O is now rejuvenated - that will have to be done against as "quality" opponent. Same thing as we (Aggies) cannot crown Kyle Allen the best QB in football after his showing against Ball State - that will also have to be done against "quality" opponents.
  21. Regardless of any other issues or opinions on Coach Strong - he does appear to be a stand up man who takes responsibility for his program.
  22. While Vince Young seems to be the favorite of most Texas fans due to his on field success my favorite Texas QB was Major Applewihite - still think if he was the QB during the years that Vince was there he would have had likely had the same success as Vince as the overall team I think was better while Vince was at Texas.
  23. Cool - you got some good ones there But the stat I like = 2015 Texas A&M 1-0 and Texas 0-1
  24. Maybe Texas just needs a little taste of humble pie and go through what Aggie's have before - my sympathies
  25. Paterson is not doing Texas any favors at this time
