If that is the case then the SEC is SECond to none with 7 of the last 9 NC's. I also think that teams should look at their own record and defend or take joy in that instead of their conference's record - But this was a thread started by an anti-SEC fan to bash the SEC. Only logical that some might defend the conference. Believe it or not you can defend a conference from unfair attacks and not be a "conference homer".

Not when it comes to profit or income over expenses. Texas definitely makes the $$$ but also does not mind spending the $$$ A&M needs to get rid of the subsidy however - would like to see that at -0- make the athletic department pay for itself.

Horns fan take on the SEC ? Is the SEC overrated - if only the 2014 Season is the indicator than perhaps it is. But if you look at the 2010 - 2014 Seasons then no it is not. The only other conferences that could possibly boast of the claim as the best football conference would be the Pac 12 and perhaps from a Texas fans perspective the Big 12. But lets look at W-L in bowl games - My opinion the best indicator of the depth of a conference since you remove most patty cakes and generally only the best survive to play. SEC 63% Winning percentage (31-18) Pac 12 54% Winning percentage (20-17) Big 12 47% Winning percentage (18-20) All things have a time limit and the SEC's may well be here but I think that after 1 sub-par year it may be too early to predict the death of the SEC as a power.

Infatuated with Texas A&M Much? ta&m, where the women are champions and the men are cheerleaders. Seems to me you might want to be more concerned about your own team right now!

Auburn Bama Miss State A&M LSU Arkansas Ole Miss In that order

I agree it Augie is on the hot seat at all he should not be. If next year repeats this year then maybe - and I mean maybe there should be a discussion that maybe his best days are behind him. But1bad year - com'on lets not over react.
-
How has the Aggie's done in the 3 years they have been in the SEC - overall I would say average - but lol they still have been better every year than Arkansas since they entered the SEC :P
-
Well they tied for the championship in 2010 - with a 6-2 conference record with Oklahoma, OSU, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Missouri - when was the last time Arkansas was even tied for 1st place - oh yeah 2006. So I guess they (Aggie's) are recently a little better then them there Hogs. Now let me see - last time Texas won a conference championship was 2009 (granted out right) but that was still before Texas A&M tied for the championship in 2010 - who would've thought.
-
This appears to be happening more and more and the NCAA should immediately put a stop to this - everyone knows that if this young man does not mature like he should or is expected too that any coach would pull the offer so fast it would make the NCAA heads spin. Not fair to the young man if it does not work out.

Infatuated with the Aggie's much - seems your every post is regarding what they did or didn't do.

Do not think that even you can make the argument that a team that was 4 - 8 in 2014 is a "quality" opponent.
-
lol Picking Arkansas who was 7 - 6 and won their bowl game against a team with a losing record to make the final 4 (even as a dark horse) is now crazier than a team that went 8 - 5 and beat one of the better teams of the Big 12 going 9 - 3 and you are accusing him of drinking too much? I understand supporting your team - but to live in this dream world of how great Arkansas will be is kinda crazy. I agree that Texas A&M will be at least as good as 8 - 4 and could go 9 - 3 (before bowl game) if all things go right - However, Arkansas will be no better than 8 - 4. And is it not you that keeps giving A&M a hard time for the patsies it schedules? UTEP, Toledo, UT Martin and Texas Tech - Com'on man! At least Texas A&M scheduled Arizona State and then 3 push overs.

Texas has always had the money and quite likely will continue to have lots and lots of money - just does not always lead to wins on the field every year. And TxHoops the conversation was about popularity till you made it about money - money does not always relate to popularity
-
Any of that gonna bring Texas more than 6 wins this year?
-
Still good news for the Aggie's.
-
Timing I think is interesting with the Spring practices being over and I think he did see his position on the depth chart - might have affected his decision. ;)
-
Still have not had 9 players kicked from the team yet :D

Surprise Surprise Surprise - GCMPats predicts a A&M loss and a Texas win - man am I surprised :P

Good to see Texas back on top!

Says the man who roots for the team that was 6-7 last year :D

If Augie has a season close to .500 like they are at the moment - he will likely be on the hot seat. In saying that I do not feet that he will likely be fired after just one sub-par season regardless - due to his history at Texas. Now if he puts together 2 close to .500 seasons he will likely be on a very short leash.

Fact is you can argue about whether one-and-done is the right way to handle young players but that is it is the way the system is set up and to bad mouth coaches that make the best of the current system is wrong. Change the system if it is broken but don't blame or gripe at the coaches that work within the system to have the best team possible. My opinion.
