But go watch the early games specially the SC and Arkansas - they did not constantly throw the side screens or the receiver screens - they threw the ball down field to the wide receivers. In the 2 big losses it just appeared to me that early in those games he was scared to throw the ball down field. Should the OC be fired = NO but it is very aggravating.
-
Same stuff from A&M - meaningless TD's late to make the game look closer than it was. I think the OC should be fired - they did not throw downfield until they were down by 21 (same thing as Miss State) - then they did have some success. A&M has not looked that good against strong defenses - could be a long rest of the season.
-
Sorry at this time I feel that the Texas O will find it hard to score - and the Texas D will get tired late in he game - i.e. Baylor
-
Wait - PhatMack posts a quote from a Texas reporter for Horns Digest who from the looks of things is a proven reporter and Texas follower and who is supposed to be in the KNOW and you seem to take offense that it was mentioned in a conversation that was at times about the fact that Heard needs to start in front of Swoopes. So I guess I need guidance for future posts - so as not to "offend" Texas fans are we only allowed to post uplifting stories about Texas????? :P Prediction: Texas - 3 OU - 27 Texas defense keeps the score respectable.
-
If Texas upsets OU I will change my Profile - for at least a little while to a Texas one :o
-
IF Strong really thinks that he can win out - that concerns me more than anything else I have heard about Coach Strong - did he not watch the games? Oklahoma, TCU and Oklahoma State are all likely losses and at best very tough wins - but all the other games Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas Tech and WVU really are all toss up games at the moment. I really see - without great improvement from the O Texas being 6 - 6 at the end of the season. I wish I was more optimistic but at this time I think that is realistic.
-
Only question that I have is why pull the red shirt off of a player - if Duke Catalon is really "the man" - this late in the season with really the season already kinda a bust. Make next year you targeted year and hold some cards close to your vest. Strong regardless of what happens has a pass this year and very likely next - but if the W's do not start mounting up he too will feel the heat.
-
So your point is that Texas is "just like any other school" - I can accept that. ;)

It is my opinion that Texas will not leave the Big 12 till it Dies - Texas has 3 main reasons for this - In My opinion: 1. Texas is still and will always be the Big Dog in the Big 12 - in some other conferences it would just be another player - a large player in most cases but still just another player; 2. Texas will always have 2-3 weak conference games every year (and many years 4) which in a normal year would guarantee 2-3 wins (Iowa State, Kansas - every year); and 3. Texas would likely have to give up the LHN and while not what is was supposed to be - many Longhorns still think it sets them apart from "everybody else".

If A&M does not play with a sense of urgency then I will be greatly disappointed. You can blame the defense all day long - and there is legitimate reasons to do so - but everyone knew that for A&M to make an impact this year it was going to be on the offensive side of the ball and it has not been there on a consistent basis. Offense turns it around and we have a chance to win - if they struggle we could see another loss. Prediction: Ole Miss
-
Texas also is likely to have another option with Zack Gentry in 2015. Hopefully he can do what the current QB Corps at Texas is having problems with and that is win. They also appear to have some potential help coming on the O Line as well. 2015 may be a better year for Texas - and it better be or Texas Ex's may start to growl
-
You put 7 points up on a team were you defense is holding and getting you the ball regularly even against the No. 7 texas = O needs work and lots of it. And by the way - Texas got a give me touchdown late in the fourth congrats.
-
Good to see Texas fans back reveling in a Texas A&M loss - got kinda sick of the fake "love" for the Aggie's while they were winning. "Just as easy to fall. You wanna bet?" I will bet that Texas A&M will have more wins than Texas!
-
Aggie played a bad bad game - O looked bad (also receivers dropped too many balls) and the D was exposed. Hope they can get back on track next week. But another tough game next week. Sumlins gonna earn his pay this year. But I also have a question - how many times you gonna throw that receiver screen and have Miss State kill it - I think they ran it like 10 times
-
Texas played D better than I expected - However, the O still needs a lot of work. But, better game then I expected.
-
^^^^^^ Thank You Sir.

Too bad Tech gets no love or anything on this board - would like to see me about the Raiders. But Thank You.

With the current status of the Franchise they did not have a chance to get "A Big Hire" - I still have my doubts as to it they will ever do anything but use young players and allow the older younger players that will demand and deserve more $$$$$ to leave the team for greener pastures. I know they have stated that is not the case but so far they have not proven anything but that to be the case. First major test of my theory will quite possibly be Altuve - I know he just signed a new contract but if he has another year close to this one he will be in high demand and deserving of a HUGE contract - I do not expect that to be in Houston. Also, if they do like they did last year and make almost no moves in the off-season I think we are into more years of below .500 baseball in Houston. The Astro's have had the lowest salary structure for the last 3-4 years and I do not expect that to change. As I stated I think this is how the new owners have decided to make a profit - low salaries + TV Contracts = $$$$. Hope I am wrong but at this time do not think so.
-
Man I hope you are right. But I have rooted for the Aggie's now for all of my 54 years and until just recently they let me down on a fairly regular basis - and it's hard after that many years to quickly shake the jitters when watching the Aggie's. I had to laugh that my wife (not a football follower) - when we were playing SC - said to me in the 3rd quarter "well now you can relax cause it looks like they have won" and my response was I can relax when the final whistle is blown and not until then. Maybe I have rooted for the Aggie's too long ---------- nah - would not know how to function if I stopped now. :P

Methinks this may be another high scoring affair :)

Then what you doing posting on this site - Get done and Get gone :D

You keep throwing up Kansas State - who have they played other than Auburn = Nobody (SFA, Iowa State and UTEP and damn near got beat by Iowa State) so the better win that you are giving for beating the Kansas State team is yet to be determined. -
Yeah seems like lately that would be like a cross to a vampire  But there will be a quality Heisman winner sometime in the future no reason he cannot be from a clean program.
-
Fact is that no team like A&M, Baylor, TT, OU or any team that has played Texas regularly over the years needs to have much motivation to want to beat Texas and as bad as possible - all they have to do is look at the history books and most have been beaten soundly and often by Texas in the past. But today is today and I think Baylor will be ready to play no matter what is on the bulletin board.
