But again per Texas fans previously - a loss is a loss regardless how close - sorry just following their rules.
-
I apologize - I meant that no wins were against ranked teams - I did fail to make that point.
-
One of the Texas new QB's will have to step it up for Strong to make an impact his rookie year at Texas.
-
Wait - when we compared the W-L of the Aggie's and Texas last year I was told - by a Texas fan (do not remember who) that a win is a win and a loss is a loss regardless of the rank of the team or by how bad you get beat. As in A&M lost 4 games last year by about a total of 10 points and all to top 10 teams - was told by more than one a loss was a loss. So now it matters????? You need to keep consistent on these things.
-
Week one summary of conference results: SEC - 10 Wins 1 Loss and beat 2 ranked teams Pac 12 - 10 Wins 2 Losses and no opposition was ranked Big 12 - 6 Wins 3 Losses - and not opposition was ranked So far the SEC still appears to be the best conference. No whocareswhatmyname is - blast this Aggie because he had the gall to say that the conference that A&M choose to play in is perhaps the best in the land.
-
Just a comparison man - try and keep up as you appear to be lagging behind these discussions.
-
If Oklahoma State could hold onto the ball could have been a different out come. But FSU did what it took to win.
-
Hope he is right but for A&M it is still a long hard road to hoe - too many pitfalls to lock this in at this time.
-
Until proven otherwise - on the field Baylor is the best program in the stat of Texas - with Texas A&M being a close 2nd.
-
I once talked to a great player - John Lucas. the one quote in my 5 min conversation that I took away with was this - "You have to play against the best to become the best". I think that is an accurate statement and it applies directly to the recent direction of the two programs we are talking about.
-
Yeah Texas better hold that celebration for the BYU game - they looked pretty potent as well. UCLA on the other hand looks like they may have issues.
-
Tech barely beat Central Arkansas - they may be overrated?
-
Big Brother better be ready for North Texas tomorrow.
-
Sorry GMCPats could not stay out of this. We Aggie fans have taken months and months of Texas fans telling us our program was going back into dull drums due to JFF as he was really the only player they had and the only thing that Texas A&M had going for it. And now that we won a big big game to start the 2014 season you claim we are the ones running our mouths - I have to admit I find that kind of ironic.
-
But come on you are stating that one of the normal low teams of the SEC lose and that makes the conference #overrated - so I guess that means that when Kansas gets beat the Big 12 must be #overrated as well. Sorry not a good argument.
-
First week will be a good indicator as to the SEC retaining the mantle of the Best conference - Georgia and LSU on the hot seats.
-
Is this not one of your posts? Look I do not mind when anyone predicts A&M to lose as if that is what their belief is fine I can deal with that - I can honestly tell you and all posters I was nervous about this game and wondered about the outcome. But several posters - mainly you - have stated that A&M could not and would not succeed and would fade into oblivion in the post Manziel era as Sumlin is a bad coach and other than Manzeil A&M suks - All I am saying is that that argument took a major step back tonight.
-
Forgot to mention - I just hope that A&M has played well enough to be even in that discussion at the end of the season.
-
SOS - just gotta beat who you line up against - at this time it is too late to worry if the SOS does not work out. Let the playoff chips fall where they may.

My take on this game is this - Defense played just good enough to make the win impressive - but needs to continue to make strides to improve. But was still a dramatic improvement from what I saw last year. Offense - Hill was great and he has a group of receivers that might just be the best in the nation. Speedy Noil was as advertised as well as Seals-Jones - but what surprised me was the number of other receivers that made an impact in tonight's game. Also, the offensive line played great - was it due to a bad D Line from SC or are they really good only time well tell. Side note that defensive lineman had a broken ankle I think - what A&M does not need a lot of injuries - just hope the kid is ok. -

Offense still looks potent - and the defense looks better but still not good enough to guarantee a great season - but again all in all the season got off to a good start. -
I like it.

Hey whatnamecanipick - you might want to change your banner - looks like the guru had his crystal ball broken.

Johnny Football - Who???? -
Baddog and TxHoops - both of you I can understand - and baddog I agree with the slurs - I don't post as much as I used to is the open animosity that is shown by some Texas fans against A&M - truthfully. I do not mind good fun competition between Texas and A&M - in fact I think it is good - but sometimes it turns ugly and then it is no fun. Congrats to A&M on a good opening day win.
