This is getting real scary as I appear to agree with you agian :P Allen will likely be given the start and if he falters then Hill will be given a chance - but if Allen does well I think he is the immediate future for the Aggie's.
-
It is my opinion that (1) Manziel would not have won the Heisman if he played in the Big 12 (10) and (2) that Evans would not be a top 10 pick either - fact is that playing in the SEC is where they got the rep that would not have been as equal in the Big 12 (10).
-
Well for that to work your gonna need to get rid of one hands on owner as well.
-
But he is a Texas tool :D
-
Actually I agree with you - I do not think that Kyler is a A&M lock - Oregon has dipped into the A&M bucket before with a lot of success. And Allen is the wildcard - but Kyler will be pursued by a lot of the Big Boys and I am not sure where he lands will be determined until real close to signing day.
-
I meant to say - will not go away - lol.
-
You may well be right - A&M does have several questions that do need to be answered - defense and QB being the top 2. I still do not think that A&M even if they do have a few bad years will go away due to (1) new updated facilities and (2) the SEC. In in regard to Hamm - some Texas fans believe anyone that does not agree with them = tool. So forgive me if I do not agree.
-
This is just the SOS from Texas fans - A&M is here now but will soon fade into oblivion - regardless of the facts - the other side is that A&M is here stay for a long time and Texas will have to deal with the results. Texas fans must have a crystal ball or something because they see (1) Everything for Texas going the right way; and (2) A&M just being lucky and they will disappear soon. Facts appear that neither of those are actually happening at this time but let Texas fans think what they want. Also, most of the experts are at this time saying Kyler Murray is still leaning towards Texas A&M (24/7 if you can believe them have is at the moment 98% A&M and 2% Oregon) but yet now he is leaning to Oregon. Who knows where he will go but I actually think that before this is over Texas Tech will be a player for his services. Even with Anderson gone (and many do no think he is 100% gone) they still have the 3rd best list of commitments so far - BUT the shine has some off!!!

I could not agree with you more!!! Ouch - that hurt just a little :D -
On the commitment front - I think it is telling that on the list of targeted recruits (on 24/7 Sports) for Texas and Texas A&M the number of athletes that have both Texas and Texas A&M in their favorites appears to be very limited and even more limited is the number that have Texas and Texas A&M in their top 2 (like 1 or 2). In the past a lot of Texas Athletes who wanted to play in Texas had to make a decision between Texas and Texas A&M and that appears to have changed as it is either Texas A&M and other schools or Texas and other schools. It was also notable that Baylor has huge large in-roads into Texas A&M and Texas recruiting as several targets of Texas A&M and Texas have Baylor as their school of choice.

Same can be said about the rich kid that has always had money and likes to rub in the face of those new to money and continually remind them of their place supposed at the table.

Actually yes I am referring to the "roughly 70-75%" of the time that Texas ruled the Texas College football world. Fact is that Texas has not ruled the Texas college football scene since the 1980's - the field has been pretty close since that time. And I disagree with the statement that Texas will rule that world again "soon". The world has changed and the programs that Texas A&M, Baylor, TCU and others have been able to develop have narrowed the gap - that along with limitations on the number of scholarships will make the dominance that Texas once held over the State of Texas college football hard if not impossible to maintain year in and year out. While Texas still has the largest $$$ in major college football the numbers that the other programs are able to earn have made the facilities as impressive as those that Texas has always had. This will allow the recruits to have options that "in the good ole days" were not availiable to the top recruits other than at Texas. National TV exposure that was once limited to Texas is now everywhere - including most every game for Texas A&M, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech and others. The world has changed - just some Texas fans either do not want to accept that or will not accept that. I have no doubt that Texas will be back - my doubt is that they will be able to do it every year and for extended periods of time like they once were able to do.
-
I have not forgotten Slocum - I still think he was a good coach and ran a good clean program when A&M did have serious trouble competing with Texas for the top recruits - just the W-L monster got him.
-
See I told everyone that some Texas fans live in a time warp - they like to only remember and refer to better days when they were the power brokers in Texas College football year in and year out - they can't seem to get their mind wrapped around a time when Baylor and Texas A&M are doing better than they are :D
-
Actually I thought the same thing - but why bring him into this discussion - he is kinda outdated?
-
Ok you got me - who is RC?
-
Yeah and all Texas Recruits are all really 5 Stars and the best at their positions - they are just rated wrong by everybody else.
-
Just thought it was funny that an a die hard Texas fan just told everyone that you cannot or should not depend on Texas. ;) You are right an offer is a two way street and has to have and offer and acceptance to be a commitment. And I understand that coach Strong has the right to get his own players and should be allowed to evaluate all previous coaches choices - but how this plays out in the minds and hearts of other recruits reading or hearing about this is the (in Texas's case) the multi-million dollar question. And in today's world they will likely hear about this. The next question is can he replace these with better options for his program - that will be determined over time.
-
My boss has always that publicity any publicity is good - not so sure in this case. But hey at least A&M is staying on the front page of the news. :D And maybe now JFF's unforgettable off season might pale in comparison!! I hope that Sumlin is doing something to stem this tide - but what options do have really other that suspensions?
-
You may well be right but remember he has not had a recruiting class higher than 33 (if my memory is correct) and he will find it very hard to stay on top of the Big 12 (10) with those types of classes - so in my opinion the jury is still out on his recruiting prowess - therefore the wisdom of pulling offers from previous commits. His coaching ability may not be in question but you have to have the players to win the NC regardless of how good the coach is - an is that not the goal of Texas fans the NC? Also, the wild card question is - do you really think that other high school players are not hearing this - how will the fact that Texas is pulling offers already tendered affect their decision - we will see in February, 2015.
-
I just do not understand Texas pulling all these offers - they must have a plan but the way they are handling this does not make sense and I hope does not backfire on them. Cause unlike many Texas fans on this forum I like to see a competitive A&M as well as Texas. I also like to see a competitive Texas Tech, Baylor and even Houston - as I like to see most teams from Texas succeed - of course against all teams but Texas A&M.

If that is the case then why do teams invite so many players to the individual workouts at all then? -
Texans First-Round Draft Pick
OldTimer replied to eagleswoodville#1's topic in Professional Sports- NFL, NBA, MLB, Etc
What about the fact that it appears that Clowney will not participate in any individual pre-draft workouts - will that affect his draft stock? -
Hate to hear that really has I hear that the Joeckel is a class family.
