  1. He shoots 65% because he doesn't shoot any tough shots. Defensively, he's a beast inside, but most of his offense comes from tip-ins and defensive breakdowns.
  2. KFDM does a great job of covering Lamar. But just think of how good a job they could do if Mr. Friedman would just come to the game at the beginning.
  3. Pat Green doesn't hit the stage until 10:00. You can get out of the game ~9:00 and still make it to downtown PA for the best part of Mardi Gras.
  4. Something else needs to be said. Brittany got 22 points and she was double-teamed for much of the game, even without the ball. She had an incredible game.
  5. He has a bruised right shoulder, right? And he's left-handed, right? I wouldn't worry about it getting worse. If he can play, even of he's hurting some, I'd play him.
  6. I don't really think there is any excuse, but ticket and parking prices had a lot to do with this. Rice students got in free, but tickets were $20 for everyone else. And parking was $10/car.
  7. I plan to, but because I'm a fan, not because I expect a good game. UCA is worse than Sam Houston. It could get really out of hand.
  8. I'm in the same shape, but I have had a chance to talk to several students, even those who aren't interested in sports. Everyone knows about the vote. It is the biggest news on campus. If anyone doesn't vote, it will be because they didn't want to, not because they didn't know.
  9. UCA shoots horribly, and they don't play defense. I know Lamar hasn't won a game on the road yet, but I think that ends Thursday. Lamar 90, UCA 74.
  10. They get two very winnable road games this week, one of which I'd say that they should win. Hopefully they'll show us something.
  11. Northwestern will finish higher than that. I know it's only four more wins, but Texas State will be lucky to do that well.
  12. To clear up some information about the attendance number: The listed attendance is tickets sold + comped tickets + tickets given away + student attendance. If a season ticket holder or other purchased ticket doesn't show up, they are counted. The only attendees not counted are the teams and coaches, the band, and game workers. The actual gate count from last night was actually much less than the listed number. One way we can get this up is for Season Ticket holders to let the ticket office know when they are not planning to go to the game. The ticket office can always give those tickets away to people who can come. So if you have tickets and can't go, or know anyone, please call the ticket office and let them know. Also, spread the word about this. The more people we can have in the stands the better.
  13. It did seem like more than 3600, but I still thought the numbers were a little disappointing. Students are counted, so they should be there. The enthusiasm was great, though. The crowd was really loud and into the game. Once, SHSU traveled and no one on the floor heard the whistle, and the play didn't stop until they saw the ref making the signal.
  14. New post! [Hidden Content]
  15. Lamar 104, Sam Houston 98 in overtime. Fried Chicken, baby!
  16. I was told to tell you not to bring any hard liquor. Beyond that, I can't tell you what you can bring.
  17. Kerry has promised us that he'll get us a clear day. If he can't, he'll have some questions to answer. >
  18. Sam Houston visits Lamar Saturday Night. Sam Houston brings a 14-2 record to the Montagne, where the 7-8 (but improving) Cardinals try to defend their homecourt. But more importantly, we will be tailgating for this game. I will have my grill out there and hot at 5:00. If anyone else can bring a grill, that would be nice. The great folks with the Lamar athletic department are providing links, boudain, and a few sodas. I will also bring sodas, hamburgers, and fixings.
  19. Who wants to be like SFA Football Team? 0-10
  20. Huge game by Tamara, good game by Brittany, and a very forgettable game by Nikki (though she made a big 3 near the end). A few pics coming.
  21. Right, you can't compare the Tech game against Lamar to the Tech game against A&M. Lamar's guards were much more sure-handed so Knight didn't try to press them much, while Lamar could press effectively against Tech. A&M just didn't match up well with Tech. Lamar did. Kudos to Tech for being able to beat a team that was able to exploit their weaknesses as well as Lamar could.
