  1. The difference in this game will be that Curtis Barbay will not make the same mistake as Darrel did. Curtis will have Newton ready to add more points on HJ the second half!! Newton 55 HJ 7 I think HJ will have a well executed game plan and will keep it close. Newton does have some big bodies and fast guys with great hands though. I think it'll be a better game than a large deficit.
  2. Cleveland is going to use that running game all night and will pound away to victory.
  3. The game will be totally different if HJ comes to play like they did against Anahuac in the 2nd half.
  4. Drove by the game today and saw it going on right off the highway at Legacy. They looked like they had a pretty decent crowd there and I was happy to see a good bit of people there. good game legacy.
  5. O no thanks Coop i dont see that happening Buna vs WO-S Non-District isn't all about winning though. Just getting the kids prepared for district time. I think Buna playing WO-S could help Buna see a good team and could help WO-S because they probably havent practiced much lately. I'm sure WOS could use a game though.
  6. or-ARE!**** sorry...hah. Anyways, I'm glad to see that 21-3A is all just about allright. I hope Bridge City can get all their kids back and expect their full-length district schedule again. J/W, how did Hamshire schedule against Deweyville...Have they even played against each other in a long time?
  7. Hardin-Jefferson cannot play this one at home due to the light pole damages in the stadium. They agreed to go to anahuac and play at 6 P.M. Friday night (Sept-26) Comments and thoughts? Newton may play HJ the following week after this game. The rest of the schedule besides Bridge City, first week of district play against HJ, should be the same.
  8. Silsbee is good in football and basketball!!!!! Ozen is good in football and basketball!!!!! WOS is good in football and basketball!!!!! EC is good in football and basketball!!!! HJ has two sports that they are great at as well. It's just a difference of schools of how much effort they put into their sports. HJ is fantastic at basketball and baseball. Dominate the court and wreck on the baseball field. The football field is a different story however. Football isn't all about winning. Its about character and determination. Even if they do lose, 8 straight now coming from last season, atleast HJ has the heart to have three levels of football (freshmen, JV, and Varsity) and come week in and week out playing. Just gotta get that offense rolling some, and with the strong defense they have, I think they could be a change. They started showing it in the second half of Woodville.
  9. Truthfully, i think HF's losses are a factor, but those two players aren't their whole team. Close contest and HF by a td.
  10. Omgsh...can't believe the JV tied another game in a row. And the HJ players weren't talking 'smack'. They had a little conversation and talked to the coach in a less-respectable way. They said no 'trash' in anyway.
  11. K-villes offense has it rolling and WOS defense is rather tough. Heard WOS offense is still making many mistakes and Kvilles Defense allowed many points against Jasper last week. I say a low scoring game with WOS on top
  12. Lol you were really thinking we were talking about the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland browns...We are talking about Cleveland Indians. hehe. But anyways, I think Cleveland is a rather tougher team compared to everyone else in their district. I say they easily win district and we'll see how it goes in the playoffs.
  13. HJ's first home game of the season (finally) after traveling 4 times within the last 4 weeks. I think HJ will have their work cut out for them, but still a tough game against a well running vidor team.
  14. HJ scored twice in the controlled scrimmage and hardin didnt. During the Live scrimmage HJ had 2 touchdowns so how did they not pass the 30? HJ fumbled snaps and handoffs 4 times and Hardin still came up empty... Defense for HJ looked specatular. Hardin's pass offense, i thought, did very successful though for a while though. They have potential to throw the ball alot better during the real games. And for the 'fake' overtime situation, HJ scored a 30 yard run.
  15. Both teams going to a neutral location. Though it isnt a real game, and the fan base wouldn't have any effect on the scrimmage if it was played at home, both teams have to deal with a different field. Wonder how it will turn out.
  16. Why do I need more help? Because your team isn't as high as you think they should be? It's the 1st rankings of the year. They will change every week and teams will move up and others will move down. Not everyone's team can be #1. Why don't you come up with a poll and show us what you would have done different.... Ouch 8)
  17. I like the way he had it for that district 20-4A. The top three spots may shift around but I dont know. I dont think Lumberton's success last year was a 'Fairy Tale' but I think they will have to prove things once again like last year because they are always getting talked bad about. I am hearing well about Nederland though. Central is just in a tough district as well, but i think they have a little fire.
  18. I dont think Hawk was meaning the Stangs are getting worse. The Stangs have won what, 24 straight in 3A, and teams that have been playing against WOS are getting more experience of what to expect from them. Meaning WOS plays a high paced game with alot of intensity and everyone knows how well they will have to play to win. Still WOS is tough and of course, just wait till the season.
  19. Coach of Hardin-Jefferson said the scrimmage starts at 12 p.m. (Time Change) Thoughts?
  20. OH yea. very confident. they have alot of depth this year and a good coaching staff coaching nearly the same kids from last year. should turn out to be a decent year.
  21. I think we actually Schedule a well predistrict with kirbyville, EC, and a 4a school vidor. see how it turns out.
  22. Just need to wait for the scrimmages and the first game to see what happens.
  23. Actually, i think HJ may have pretty bad parking this year. We are building a new school like not many yards from the high school right now and they completely took out the parking lot for the visitors. I dont know what will happen with the parking as of right now, but hopefully home and visitors wont have to end up parking on the same side. Just trouble.
  24. We do have everyone coming back. We would have lost more starters, but a few people got hurt soo early in the season and didnt return that, some others had to step up and be starters for the rest of the season. On offense we lost an O-line Jake roby who went to incarnate, and a receiver. On defense we didnt really lose anyone cept the players who got hurt real early in the season, which were seniors.
