I think it will be a good game. Haven't seen Lumberton this year, but I know they will be well coached with good shooters. Kingwood Park is well coached and has a tall girl ( Allie Beach #12 ) that can get to the basket. They are a very good defensive team.

Yes. It is a shame. We started out 0-5 in district, but finished 10-3 after that.

Crosby finished 10-8 and tied for fourth place with New Caney. But, they were swept by New Caney, so New Caney gets the fourth seed.

Coach Michelle Trotter of Crosby High School also received the honor of Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. She led the Lady Cougars to a 31-7 record, the District 21-5A Championship, and a berth in the State Semi-Finals in the Alamodome, where they lost to eventual State Champ Canyon. She is in her fourth year as Crosby's head coach.

Congrats to Coach Wrinkle on his new position ! But, he is going to be hard to replace as the boys basketball coach - his teams were always prepared and played HARD !

Congrats to Zach and his parents ( Gordon and Shelley ) on this fine accomplishment ! I remember Zach when he was an infant and then before he hit his growth spurt playing on the Hurricanes with my son, Zach Gough. Gordon was an assistant boys basketball coach at Vidor High School for me in 1998-1999, along with Brian English. AND ALL three of us have a son named Zach !!!!

Former Nederland Bulldog Basketball Coach Jim Weaver ( early '80s to mid '90s ) passed away this morning in the Austin area due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease. Big Jim was the proud father of Jamie, who played his senior year at Nederland for his dad, and later played at the University of Houston. Coach Weaver was a basketball man who made the Bulldog Classic a great tournament. He was also Brian English's ( current Bulldog head man ) coach at Nederland. He will be sadly missed by the basketball community. He is also survived by his wife, Jan and daughter, Kelli.
