Actually, the radar now shows the Woodlands getting just a glancing blow on the rain.  Although it is still quite cloudy here in Katy, we haven't had rain in almost 45 minutes.

Beaumont Ozen's trek through the Class 4A, Division II playoffs takes them where no Panther team has gone before, the 3rd round.  They will accomplish that feat today when the take the field against the La Marque Cougars in the Beaumont ISD Game of the Week.  Jeff Nelson's Panthers, now 7-5 on the year, qualified for the playoffs via a 40-36 bi-district win over Barbers Hill and a 14-10 victory last week in the area round over #3 ranked Brenham.  Meanwhile, Mike Jackson's Cougars, who come into the game with a 10-2 district mark, qualfied for the playoffs with a 31-25 victory over Rosenberg Terry in bi-district play and a 46-7 victory over Houston Sharpstown in the area round next week. The winner of this game will face Manvel, a 49-10 winner over Dayton last night.
