Tonight the magical run of the Vidor Pirates through the Class 4A, Division I playoffs continues tonight as Pirates travel into Houston to take on the Angleton Wildcats for this regional semifinal matchup.  Jeff Mathews' Pirates now 10-2 on the season, have gotten to this game with a 42-20 win over Crosby in the bi-district round and a 42-35 win over Montgomery last week.  Meanwhile, the undefeated Wildcats of Ryan Roark, champions of District 23-4A, qualified via a 48-21 victory over Friendswood in the bi-district round and a 65-36 victory over Houston Wheatley last week. The winner of this game will face the winner of the Nederland/Pearland Dawson at this same venue tomorrow evening. According to a twitter report, the superindendent of Crockett ISD has just announced on local radio that he received a call clearing Crockett to play the regional semi game scheduled for Saturday.

The chatter that I am seeing on twitter is that even if the investigation finds that Crockett used ineligible players, that Newton would not advance and the Harmony would get a bye to the next round. This would be due to the late timing of the decision.  Now mind you, this is anything but official, but it is the chatter that I am seeing.
