Class 4A, Division I Area Playoff from Galena Park ISD in Houston at 1:00 pm. The winner of this game will face Pearland Dawson, who defeated Houston Reagan Thursday night.

Class 5A, Division II Area Playoff from Dan Stallworth Stadium in Baytown at 1:00 p.m. The winner of this game will face the winner of the Alief Taylor/Houston Memorial area playoff, which will be played tonight in Houston at 6:00 p.m.

Class 5A, Division II Area Playoff from Clyde Abshier Stadium in Deer Park at 1:00 p.m.. The winner of this game will face Katy, who defeated Cypress Woods last night.

The Beaumont Ozen Panthers have kept the SETXsports Beaumont ISD Game of the Week alive as they face a stiff test in the form of the Brenham Cubsin this Class 4A, Division II area playoff.  Jeff Nelson's Panthers, now 6-5 on the season, advanced to the area round with a 40-36 victory over Barbers Hill last weekend.  Meanwhile, Glen West's Cubs, a perfect 11-0 on the season, qualified for the area round with a 35-3 victory over Kingwood Park. This is a team that runs the spread offense and looks like they can throw the ball around a bit.  Reading a article from the Waco paper, it looks like their offense runs through, as with most spread teams, Colton Mebane.  He threw for 194 yards and ran for another 170, so they were able to move the ball.....against Robinson that is.
