  1. Class 2A, Division II bidistrict playoff from Buffalo Bison Stadium in Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. The winner of this game will face Lexington.
  2. Class 3A, Division II playoff from Abe Martin Stadium in Lufkin at 7:30 pm. The winner will face Lorena, a 28-14 winner over Fairfield last night.

  4. Class 3A, Division II bi-district playoff from Bulldog Stadium in Carthage at 7 pm. The winner of this game will face Robinson, a 28-7 winner over Mexia last night.
  5. Class 4A Division I bi-district action from the Carrol A. "Butch" Thomas Educational Support Center in Beaumont at 7:00 pm. The winner of this game will take on the Humble Summer Creek/Mangolia West winner.
  6. Class 5A, Division II Bi-District playoff from Galena Park ISD Stadium in Houston at 1:00 p.m.. The winner of this game will face the winner of the Fort Bend Dulles/Clear Springs game which will be played today.
  7. The Silsbee Tigers start another trek in the Texas state high school football playoffs today as they begin their 2011 road in Humble against the Huffman Hargrave Falcons.  Bobby McGallion's Tigers sport an 8-2 regular season mark and a 3-2 district record which was good enough for third place in District 21-3A.  Meanwhile Falcon Coach Mike McEachern also lead his Falcons to a 8-2 season mark with a 5-1 district mark which garnered the runner up position in District 22-3A. The Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans start out on what they hope is another raod to Arlington as they take on the Bridge City Cardinals in Class 3A, Division II bi-district action today.  Bryan Barbay's Trojans finished off another perfect 10-0 regular seson with a 6-0 mark and the district championship in District 22-3A.  Meanwhile, Cris Stump's Cardinals completed the regular season with an 8-2 record with a 4-1 district mark, good enough to take the runner-up spot in District 21-3A.  The winner of this game will face Bellville, a 28-18 winner over Giddings last night. The 3A playoffs begin in earnest today as the Cleveland Indians travel down to Baytown to take on the West Orange-Stark Mustangs for a Class 3A, Division II bi-district battle.  Clayton Maples' Indians finished the regular season with a 7-3 mark, 4-2 in district, which put them in third place in district 22-3A.  Meanwhile Cornel Thompson's Mustangs also amassed a 7-3 season mark and a 5-0 district mark which gave them the 21-3A district championship.  The winner of this game will face Columbus, a 21-14 winner over Smithville last night. [/quote] I imagine that the reason that the High Island ISD took action on this so quickly was so that they could declare to the UIL that they are opting for 6 man and could be included in a UIL district. As for Coach Jones, I guess we will not really know the answer for a while.  However, from what I know of Coach Jones, he is not a quitter and will look on this as a challenge to meet.
