1.
No love for the Orangefield Bobcats...Lets see they beat EC, should have beaten Buna, beat Woodville and smothered Jasper and will beat Silsbee Friday. WOS grad you must of had Coach T for all your classes.
Hey einstein.  You must have skipped the English classes and didn't quite catch the reading comprehension part of it over at OF as I already said my poll didn't have WO-S in it. Nice start to your posting career here as SETXsports, smart guy!
 2. I wouldn't pencil in Newton so fast if they can't handle ellusive backs because Woodville also has on in the form of Trent Daniels, he went for 283 yards and 3 TD's last week.
 3. This topic has been moved to Football. [iurl][Hidden Content]]
 4. Just an update on Jermaine's dad.  He did ultimately succumb to the injuries suffered in the accident.  However, David Bowman will live on as he was an organ donor so in death he has provided life for others. Please give your continued prayers to Jermaine and his family in this time of sorrow.
 5. Actually, if you go by two generally accepted measures of discipline, penalties and turnovers, you might have a hard time saying that Vidor is more disciplined.  Through 5 games, Ozen has been flagged 32 times for 271 yards and has turned the ball over 5 times.  Through 5 games, Vidor has been flagged 31 times for 250 yards and has turned the ball over 7 times. As for team speed, Ozen might have a bit more speed, but Vidor is by no means devoid of it.  Quirante has some good speed as does Smallwood and Bolinger (if Coach Mathews lied to David Henry and he does indeed play on Friday).  Even Clark was some surprising speed. So the big edges one way or the other, really don't play out as huge edges in reality.
 6. Would that be Bryant McClendon?  Regardless, prayers go out to the young man and his family.
 7. I have just received a text from Coach Jones at High Island confirming that the Cardinals will be back in action this weekend as they will travel to Daisetta to take on H-D.
 8. Of course, I have heard Vidor use the "more disciplined" team mantra which I suspect is also stereotypically driven so no one really has clean hands in the matter.
 9. Sarge, I am gonna call you "hammer" from now on because I think you hit the nail right on the head.
 10.

The simple fact is that this is a HIGH SCHOOL football game... Arguing like a bunch of little girls is going to do what? Absolutely nothing. All it does is make fellow fans/citizens of your respected communities shake their heads. These are KIDS playing a game. While it is great to support them, making yourself look like fools on the internet is embarrassing. Arguing about who has the better stats, athletes, or past records is all extremely irrelevant. Do stats and past records come into play when the teams meet on Friday? NO. You people are ridiculous. Get a hold of yourselves and stop acting like children. Everybody has a right to their own opinion, and that is fine. If someone disagrees with your prediction, who freaking cares? Have enough respect and class to accept their opinion as well. With that being said, Go Pirates! Everybody in Vidor is rooting for you, win or lose. Best of luck to both teams.
Good post...but this is what it's all about...where else will you find this type of entertainment at 6:30 am? ;D
Like I said this game will not be close they are to slow!& with that saidGO PANTHERS FYI get it right the gm is SAT ;D
And what leads you to believe they are too slow?

 13.
This is a tough one. Speed versus Discipline. Normally one would think speed makes up for talent, Ozen has talent and speed, deadly combination. However, Vidor has size, disciplined and well coached offense, tough to defend. I see Vidor keeping the ball out of the the speed and talented Ozen backs hand by long drives and a lot of clock chew. My prediction, Vidor 28-Ozen 24
I guess my question is how do you figure that Ozen is less disciplined than Vidor is?
 14.
No High Island vs. Hull Daisetta on here.  Know something we don't?
No, I just didn't want to have the same situation that happened last week when I put West Hardin/High Island on the list.  Just being cautious.
 15. What happened to Kirbyville last week will be what Kirbyville does to Huntington this week.  I didn't even put this game on the pick'em, I think it will be that bad.
 16. Guys, sorry I messed up on the prior thread, let's start over: Vidor/Ozen Buna/Anahuac Beaumont West Brook/Baytown Sterling Port Arthur Memorial/Galena Park North Shore Baytown Lee/Dayton Houston C.E. King/Crosby Houston North Forest/Barbers Hill Little Cypress-Mauriceville/Beaumont Central Livingston/Nederland Port Neches-Groves/Lumberton Center/Jasper Hamshire-Fannett/West Orange-Stark Hardin-Jefferson/Bridge City Orangefield/Silsbee Coldspring/Splendora Huffman/Shepherd East Chambers/Hardin Kountze/Warren Woodville/Newton San Augustine/Deweyville West Hardin/Lovelady Burkeville/Evadale Coolidge/Chester Houston St. Pius X/Beaumont Kelly Beaumont Legacy/Galveston O'Connell
 17.
Legacy has the weakest schedule iv'e ever seen any team listed ahead of them on my poll would blast them and every school they have played enough said.
Well just exactly who should Coach Hobbs schedule?  West Brook?  West Orange-Stark? PN-G? Yes, Legacy plays a lot of teams in 1A, the smallest 11 man UIL classification.  But they do belong to TAPPS smallest 11 man classification, Division IV.  So they are not going to schedule games against large schools. There are schools that are higher ranked in your Top 10, including a 2A school that have played the same schools that Legacy has played.
 18.
I think #6 Coppell lost to Denton Guyer.
They did.
 19. Oops, forgot they had played Silsbee, but yes they did it, too.
 20. You run on Jasper all day long.  Livngston did it, WO-S did it, Orangefield did it....heck even Lumberton did it. If you can't stop the run in high school football, you will not win.
