Tonight the Newton Eagles continue district play in District 10-2A-I as they travel to Winnie to take on the East Chambers Buccaneers.  W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 3-1 on the season, started the 2011 district season in grand fashion last Friday with a 41-16 win over Buna.  Likewise, Russ Sutherland's Buccaneers, who come into the game sporting a 2-2 season record, also captured their district opener by defeating Woodville 21-9 last Friday. District play is now underway in District 22-3A and tonight the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans continue district play as they host the Shepherd Pirates.  Brian Barbay's Trojans, now 5-0 on the season, started district play on a high note as they shalacking of Tarkington last Friday, 67-8.  Meanwhile, Bob Jones' Pirates, 0-4 on the season, look to rebound from their 38-15 district opening loss to Cleveland last Friday. All HISD games have been postponed.

Porter/Humble has been postponed.  It will be played at Turner at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
