2.

They were 5a in 77 also and when they won their first title.
WO and Stark didn't merge until 78
Nope, the first year of WO-S was 1977-78 school year.
 3. No matter how proud you may be of your results (or in the case of most of us...ashamed), remember this.  You got beat by a girl. 4.
I thought 4a was the biggest class in the 70's
I think you are right.  I don't believe 5A came into existence until 1980.
 5.
I think with the rich history of WOS they haven't ever had a losing season; however, not sure on that.  Does anyone know?
That is correct, 1983 is the only losing season the Mustangs have had.  And, much to your dismay, 2011 won't be the second.
 6.
Are posters required to have a certain amount of posts before they can send PMs??
I don't think so.
 7.
So basically High Island is only playing teams they feel they can match up with? That sure does make it tough on the other schools in their district. Hope it works out for the kids at High Island.
I don't know that is a conclusion that can be reached.  When you play with as short of a roster as the Cardinals have, your status as to whether you'll be able to take the field is pretty much week to week.
 8.
I heard it was going to be on channel 6. Please be patient with CCS as they are a first year TAPPS Division I team. They just got hammered by a TAPPS Division 3 team. Now, they are playing Chester and they are really pretty good. CCS is well coached and they have some athletes but being a first year program they often line up in the wrong position and don't make proper adjustments. Give the Lions 2-3 years and then re-evaluate them. Please don't judge by what you see Saturday. Go Lions.
I think they will be just fine, 360.  Yes, they are still getting the basics of six man down.  But there are some guys that they will really impressed with just like I was when I saw them against Texas Christian.  Guys like C.J. Wagner and Alex Parrish who are complete hosses and would be getting playing time if they were Mustangs or Bears.
West Orange-Stark High School was a merger in 1977 of two high schools, the West Orange High (the Chiefs) and Lutcher Stark High (the Tigers).
The Chiefs LOL don't tell me they played that PNG song at the games
I don't recall if Cherokee was a part of their song selection, but they did sport the purple and white.
 10. But what Titletown2 just did is what y'all can do.  If you have stats from your team, pm me or post them here and I will incorporate.
 11.
WOS GRAD I tried to give you a PM but apparentlly I'm locked out of that. For your stat page I have some stats from Deweyville's game at HD. Ty Bickham 25 rushes for 226 yards and 3 TDs. 5/8 passing for 125 yards. Ryan Collins 17 rushes for 172 yards and 4 TDs.  2 rec. for 20 yards Cody DuPuy 5 rushes for 60 yards  1 rec. 25 yards Damien Trussell 2 rushes for 7 yards. Trey bussell 2 rec. for 80 yards. Deweyville  465 yards rushing and 125 yards passing for 590 total yards.
Shouldn't be, because I have never blocked anybody from sending me a pm.  Thanks for the stats, but Coach McDaniel gets me the Deweyville stats every week.

 13. Well, folks.  I just got a response to an e-mail I sent from Coach Henry yesterday.  Unfortunately, High Island has cancelled the game with the Oilers this weekend. West Hardin is going to keep the week open to heal some injuries before they start district next week.
 14.
I dont understand why everyone is upset.  I know I am not from WOS, so my thoughts do not matter......BUT....The city of West Orange fought long and hard to get "the man".  The man was Coach T.  Everyone knew what he was and said they wanted a disciplinarian at the helm of the program.......  Coach T.  You had speaches on here saying that discipline is what is needed!  He loves the kids!  He wants the best for our kids because they are his kids!  With some of our kids he is the father figure! Well Dad got upset in how some of his kids proformed and called them out.  So what.....some times it is needed.  In the game with Jasper I know he praised the kids.....some of the ones that he called out.  Do you only want the good? Give the guy some room.  I just dont understand.....you asked and demanded the School Board give Coach T the job...now he cant do a thing right. Skip you have his photo on everyone of your post.  Are you going to take it down if you keep hammering him?
Those that are frustrated can know this, no one is more frustrated with this start than Cornel Thompson.  As I was on the road from Huntsville, I didn't hear the interview or the names of those that were called out.  But this is how Coach Thompson works, he is about accountability.  He expects it of himself, his staff and his players.  That is the guy I want coaching my alma mater. I am glad he is and I believe West Orange-Stark will be okay simply because he is there.
 15. Yes, and remember that game will be on television next Saturday afternoon

David has a MRI scheduled for Monday which will assist in establishing the exact nature of his injury.
Ok, can you explain the Lisfranc injury, or do I need to Google it?  I'm not being sarcastic, but it sounds like you are familar with the injury.
[Hidden Content]

 18.
Does anyone have an update on how High Island is doing after Friday nights game? How many players did they dress out?
I am not sure how many they finished with, but a text I got from Coach Jones there appeared to be no major issue with having enough players to finish the game. And from all indications, they are expecting the folks from Saratoga to be on the beach Friday.
 19.
lets see if this works: Vidor over Nederland  3-1
See folks, it ain't that hard.  Of course it is kinda sad when I have to rely on someone associated with one of our smaller schools to get us results about one of our larger ones!  In fact, Evadale is probably one of the best covered as Mr. Mikasa posts and BIGMO44 texts me the scores.
 20. I find it kind of hard to fault the media on this one.  If fans do not show interest, why should they? The forums of SETXsports.com are a perfect example of that.  On Friday night, I do not have to consult one outside source for football scores in Southeast Texas as all are reported by fans in that forum...and I am talking about games from the smallest.  However, most game threads, which are put in the same manner as their football brethren, go blank.  While there are some who respond on a regular basis, and let me tell you that it is appreciated, there are quite a few scores that I have to get from media sources who bothered to list them.
