6.
didn't realize it was against the rules.
Nobody broke rules per se, it is just the policy of SETXsports.com to not have discussion on its message board about any disciplinary action against a high school athlete in any manner until such action is either confirmed by the school district or corroborated by media reports.  It is just for legal protection of the site.
 7.
thats what i'm saying. whats going on? if a mod is doing this then you can atleast explain yourself.
And it is ME who has been removing the posts!
 8.
why are posts being removed
Because the posts about the young men have not been confirmed by either Nederland ISD or media.
 9.
Anyone know how long it takes for the U.I.L. in Austin to approve a decision on eligibility that was approved by the district U.I.L. committee?  We had a hearing last Wednesday and the local committee approved the case and we were told everything would be sent to Austin where they almost never overturn the local districts decision. Its been 8 days and I would have thought we would have heard back from Austin by now.
My understanding is that once the district committee approves a player that the decision does not need to be approved by Austin.  The only decisions that are made by Austin are those in which the district committee rules against a player and the player appeals or where the district committee does not take action and sends the matter to Austin for a decision.
 10.
to answer some of the Nederland, PNG and other fans, have been dictated by who will play us, not whom we select. Speak with Jeff Mathews about why we have to play against Texarkana Texas High or Catholic schools like St. Thomas and Kelly and you'll find we get a lot of the same treatment Crosby gave us, dredging up the past and cancelling at the last minute. I appreciate Texas High playing on our schedule as well as the Orange County schools. Thank you Kirbyville for a home and away. It's seems we play way more away games pre-district than home games, go figure. We had New Caney once in 2005 and Barbers Hill once in 2006 but neither gave us return game at our house (beat New Caney, lost to BH). I'm sorry, but I know Jeff well and he'll play anybody, anywhere and the Pirates aren't afraid of anyone. At least St. Thomas came to Vidor, along with Craig Biggio. So, instead of talking smack, why don't some of you other schools call Jeff and schedule home and aways rather than this game of "I'm not playing in Vidor!" Ask Beaumont Ozen or Beaumont Central how they're treated when they play here. I would love to see a Brenham or Barbers Hill or Texas City on our pre-district schedule, especially in our house!! You'll find Vidorians warm and friendly and you'll come away with a new respect for our football team. Just my two baht.....
This is not directed at the strength of schedule as I think Coach Mathews has done a great job in improving that over the past few years.  However, I just needed to correct information that might be a little misleading.  It is in regard to the allegation that New Caney and Barbers Hill never played a game in Vidor.  Actually, they did.  Both New Caney and Barbers Hill played in Vidor in 2004, Barbers Hill winning 35-19 in Week 1 and New Caney winning 23-7 in Week 3.  In 2005, Vidor returned the favor, traveling to Barbers Hill and New Caney, losing 42-19 to the Hill and defeating New Caney 28-3.
 11. He was indeed suspended at WO-S for violations of the student code.  I have not heard what team policies as OU, but I did see a tweet wherein they quoted Coach Stoops as saying Trey had committed "multiple violations."  There is rumor that Trey tweeted complaints about his role in the offense after the Florida St. game.  A quote from Coach Stoops that "we will replace his 7 catches" when talking on the issue kind of leads you to think that the twitter rumor may have some legs. I wouldn't count Franks out of OU yet, though, as word is that the suspension may be as little as 2 weeks.
Let me be a pollster
Sorry, the "official poll" is only for SETXsports Mods and Admins to participate in.  But there is nothing stopping a bunch of you from getting your own poll together if you want.  I think someone did it a few years back.
 13.
Same as last week..
Actually, a little better.  I thought I had put 25 picks out there last week but only had 24.  So I have redone the stats this week, which are reflected above, and for the year to date, which I will be posting soon.

 16. Here are a couple of problems.  First, we don't have a way that would be able to automatically tally such a thing unless we have 25 different polls aside from the pick 'em thread which would require a poster to first his/her post pick 'em picks and then go to 25 other threads.  I really doubt that would happen.  Thus, that would require someone to keep constant watch over the pick 'ems to tally and calculate those percentages.  Right now, I know of no one able or willing to keep such vigil. The second problem, which is kind of related is that we allow folks to post basically right up to kickoff.  The problem there is that anybody who would be charged with updating those percentages would be probably be at a game and would probably not able to do update those percentages remotely.  The only exception to that is me.......and....well......I get a TAD BIT busy around 7:00 p.m. on Friday nights. If someone is willing to step up and figure those out, they are welcome to it, but it won't be me.
