Coach Valastro, do you guys have any information on him, like how he was at East Chambers, I know he has had tons of success in his career. The number one thing he needs to do in Galveston is to get the comunity togethor, and not just have one side of the town play football. Bring the tradition back! Good Luck to Him! I graduated at Ball in the early 2000's and it looks like they are getting a very good football coach, and AD that cares more about all Programs winning!
I am not 100% sure but I think the Nederland/Ozen game will be played on Friday April 22 not Thursday since Nederland has school on Friday. Schools can't play 2 games in one week but a game after school on the last day of the week is not considered to be in that week. Nederland is having school this Friday to make up for a unscheduled day off in February. Can anyone confirm this?
I wouldn't be surprised. This was on the original schedule of both schools which so that may have been changed due to the bad weather days? admin? Mack? Any word on that?

I think Coach Martel would fare a lot better if he didn't have to face WO-S and Silsbee on a yearly basis
-
Doesn't sound like it, the DB according to a web report is now a stock broker
-
There was a Pat Fischer who was a DB with the Redskins in the 70's. Is he that Pat Fischer?

It is Week 0. As to Friday or Saturday, I'll have to check again. -

Not to mention the things that weren't said but implied and most of you know exactly what I mean.
Sadly, I have to disagree. I do not harbor one bit of regret for what I posted on this thread. The information I received was rock solid and the conclusions that I made were reasonable and, I can say now, shared by many in the coaching fraternity as well as among alumni and taxpayers in the WO-C CISD. Were the conclusions incorrect? Yes and I can tell you no one is more thrilled that I was wrong than I am! The children and community that is the West Orange-Cove Consolidated have seen a step taken with those programs that indicate a commitment to achievement and excellence. Congratulations to Coach Thompson on his appointment as head football coach of the West Orange-Stark Mustangs and athletic director of the WO-C CISD and good luck for years to come and congratulations to Mr. Colbert on recognizing the excellence required to keep the football program on the path of achievement and executing on that recognition.
Sadly I have to disagree. How in the world can you say the information was rock solid. That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Not one thing happened the way you said/thought it was going to happen. I'm just an insurance agent but if that is rock solid evidence then I'm in the wrong business. Like I said, too many negative things were said and the man was never given a chance to do the right thing. I regret your statements not only for you but for the community that was stirred up and why? For no reason at all. No hard feelings we just see things completely different on this matter.
None taken, I still intend to, to the extent I can, see that you are in a school board seat by this time next month. I'll just note that my post said my info was correct, the conclusions I drew from that info were not. It may not seem like a big difference, but millions are made and lost on that difference. I said it during the pendency of this search...I'll gladly take the label as the boy who cried wolf if the result that occurred today came to fruition and sleep well in doing so. Had I been right and remained silent, sleep would have been a lot harder to come by.
Just got off the horn with the Supt. I've been offered the DC position. ;D We will be running a 3-3-5 base defense blitzing 90% of the time. CHAIN LINK DEFENSE IS BACK! ;D
Wait! I thought you were Coach Neece's new OC at Kirbyville? Boy, that is gonna create a heck of a conflict of interest come Week 5!

Darned, I'm never gonna catch him!
Now fellas give my friend Coach T some breathing room after that 1st heartbreaker with the Dogs at Provost Umphrey. The Stangs will will be OK.
Heartbreaker? Yeah I guess the 'Stangs only winning by a touchdown or two will be a disappointment in Coach Thompson's eyes!

Will WO-S and LC-M ever consolidate??
Might be triggered by financial problems....just like Stark and WO, again just my opinion.
There is some sense of history repeating itself, there. -
Probably because the game was scheduled with both school being out of school on good friday, but lost the day off due to bad weather. Because they played on monday or tuesday they cannot play on thursday. UIL only allows 1 game during the week.
Now that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification

WO-S SHOULD Release List Of Applicants

And on further recollection, it would be hypocritical for me to weigh in heavily yet not reveal what I have learned. I understand that at least three candidates were sought out by the Colbert Committee. Those three are 1) , as well as Tyler Lee; 2) Hiawatha Hickman, current defensive coordinator at Silsbee and 3) M.K. Hamilton, head coach at New Waverly. I know that Coach Hickman declined to submit applications which going as far to endorse Cornel Thompson for the head coaching position at West Orange-Stark. I do not know whether Coach Hamilton submitted one. There is a fourth potential candidate that was rumored to contacted as well, but I have no source close enough to this candidate to determine the reliability of the report.
I heard these same things/names. In fact, I heard two more names (one of which declined out of respect for Coach T) and the other who might be faring well in this process right now. Maybe they should be called the "Recruitment/Selection Committee"... I will continue to pray that Coach T will get the job.
Dang for life, you would think my proofing would be better. The 1st one, which is probably the name that you heard in Coach Thomas Brooks. -
UIL names Buna graduate Dr. Mark Cousins as athletic director! [Hidden Content] What?
-
Wow, the fact that Buna has some tie to 2 of the last 3 AD of the UIL is amazing.
